As one of our Allies I really wanted to give the Brits some benefit of doubt.  BUT the more stories like this that come out it's easy to see that Islam has gotten their poison tentacles deeply embeded and that the UK is bending over and taking it in the rear from this radical religion.  The only hope is that someone is able to take this turd ball out and make this world a safer place.  Unfortunately much like the cock roach though they find a deep, dark, dirty hole to hide in and only come out to cause havoc!  Hope the Brits wake up soon before they find themselves taken over and converted to a Muslim Country.

Accident my ass......the Mexican Government hasn't been in control of Mexico for a long time.  It's the Cartel Government  in control  (Which Cartel?  Good question, who knows) .  The sooner everyone wakes up to that fact the sooner we can try to work harder at keeping the hyenas (human trafficing and drug dealing trash) out of our back door.  As Americans we get tired of Illegal Immigrants and Illegal Immigration which I am in agreement with but then the other side of me says no wonder people want to get out of the shit show Mexico has become.  But until the good and decent Mexicans band together and stand their ground, nothing good will happen.  It's very sad.......didn't have time to read the threads yet, looking forward to seeing how this conversation evolves.

@JackMurphyRGR  "Insert Big Sigh here"  Yes, I know there's more than just one bad apple.  My hope is that the percentage is relatively low compared to the number of Seals with honor and integrity.

@ArcticWarrior  Yes we have had our share of "Turds In  A Punchbowl"  here in Alaska recently haven't we?  BUT they still are a small majority of Alaskans which I'm hoping is the same with the Seal Community.

@notdrakebell @ Yes I agree, they do have a legitimate concern.  I'm sure he's not that dumb, come on he was a seal.   He knew he was suppose to have his book checked to verify what information what being put out to the public.  The only hope now is that the damage will be minimal.  Just how much did he put in his book (I guess that goes back to just how much he knew).  Bottom line in my opinion he just didn't give a shit about the fall out, he just wanted to make a quick buck.  If he would have gone through correct channels he would have forfeited the profits, which is probably why he chose this path.  Hopefully there will be many legal ramifications for him.

"SEAL Team Six Throws OPSEC to the Wind, Next Time Use Delta Force or Rangers"  Wow, that's a little harsh, we can't judge all Seals because of one bad apple.  That would be like saying that because MB is from Alaska that all Alaskans are to blame.  I know it may be a bit naive but with every group of people whether it be ethnic, religious, countries, work, etc you will have your good and your bad.  AND even in groups of the "Good Guys" you have some that are bad or some that started out good and for what ever reason turned.  We cannot blame the rest of the "group" because of a few bad apples.

We can only hope that when the book comes out that MB retained some of the common sense that was given to a piss ant and didn't spill too much information that should have been kept quiet.  Sometimes the need to make a million overcomes honor, dignity and respect when someone has no morals or a lapse in morals.  MB just joins another Alaskan Sarah Palin in that category.  It makes me think of two big aspects in life I was taught.  "To get respect you must give respect" and "Respect is much easier kept than recovered".

@ArcticWarrior  Like any other group of people there are the good, the not so good and the flat out bad.  It's just that more and more it seems that there are less of the good are in high positions of authority and more of the not so good or the flat out bad that seems to be there instead.  It seems to be more of the same ol, same ol......It's not what you know but who you know that gets you ahead.  This makes it bad for the good, qualified people to get the top jobs where they will really make a positive difference.  Yes, yes I know it sounds pessimistic and I may be off base.  It's just what it looks like on the surface and just below the surface.  If it's not I'm willing to listen and admit when I'm wrong but I have a several personal reasons to see that it's safe for our troops AND not only for my personal reasons but for ALL our troops.  I feel as if they are all our family.

@JackMurphyRGR Because we have Generals who have no real combat experience and no common sense and we have politicans who have never been in the military themselves.  We still have a few who have but not many.  It would be like putting someone like me in charge, while I come from a long line family members in the military I have not been......does that make me qualified?  HELL NO!  But it goes back to common sense.  Many of our Generals and most of our Politicans are so party driven now days they are like little stepford people who can't think for themselves and don't have common sense.  As for your comment to @rougegirl, who trains the soldiers with their weapons?  Very scary, I live in a state where we have to carry a weapon when hiking or fishing because of the four legged hairy possible threats.  At 12 I was put through hunter/weapon safety course and was taught there are NO accidential discharges.  We had to know our weapons inside and out period and a Navy Father who made sure if was something I continually practiced so my skills wouldn't get rusty.   If soldiers are coming out of training not knowing this there is a bigger problem than even imagined.  HOLY SHIT!

@IrritableGruntSyndrome Yes, I believe in some cases your correct but in many cases they realize it they just don't care.  I believe with media like this their motto is "As long as I look good and my ratings are good who cares if I put others at risk".  I do have friends in the media that are responsible journalists and reporters.  They have common sense and know what and when to report and more importantly what NOT to report.  Unfortunately the bad ones over shadow the good ones.

Oh and just a disclaimer.  I have had many members of my family, past and present in ALL branches of the military.  So I'm a big supporter of ALL branches.

This is what happens when they put a Desk Jockey in charge.  Instead of taking into account past successes and running this conflict with JSOC in charge they try to go conventional.  Depending on the situation,  bigger is not always better and it was just plain crazy to not let our troops carry weapons with magazines in and rounds chambered.  Yet while making it marginally safer they are still not going where they should and letting our military forces have a chambered round.

For those "In Charge" and running bases in Afghanistan like they were bases state side.  They need to come out of their little "Fairy Tale" land.  There is no true "Safe Perimeter" within those bases.  We are in a hostile country, where it is very easy to talk poor, uneducated Afghan people into working for the Taliban or any other resistance fighters.  Whether it be giving them money or threatening their families.  I know this may sound bad but we can't really trust any Afghani individual.  Are they all bad?  No, but we must keep a suspicious eye on them all so that we are more prepared for the ones who are bad.  This is a country just like most all Islamic, Muslim lead republics where these people have ALWAYS been fighting.  Sadly most of them are raised to hate westerners and have mostly just known fighting or war their whole lives.  Those in Command need to come out of their "Fairy Tale" worlds and stop trying to hobble our warriors or this will go on forever for us.

As much as I'd like to agree with SteveButler, it sounds nice to stop our money from going to so much foreign aid and sending our troops to help out in all these hell holes and just taking care of oursleves.  But we also have to help with some world wide stability.  The world is our neighborhood and we can't just lock the doors and draw the curtains and believe that we will be safe from any hostile intentions.  We just need better leadership, we can't continue to put Desk Jockeys with no common sense and no experience in charge of our military.  Each branch of service has their specialites and we must learn to work together instead of nipping and fighting each other like a bunch of junk yard dogs.  Who's better?  The Army? The Navy? The Air Force? The Marines?  Who gives a shit???  The last I heard they were all still AMERICAN FORCES and if they could all just pull their ego's in check long enough and work jointly toward a common goal we would be in a much better position.  Wouldn't we?  Or maybe I'm thinking "Fairy Tale" now?

The more I see of this Imbecile's (Eric Boehlert) comments and read about more comments that he keeps making on twitter to try to defend himself and divert blame, something comes to mind.  When I have to deal with people that have done something wrong or purposely said something wrong and are caught red handed the first thing they do is get defensive and then they become arrogantly loud and right up in your face.  They seem to think this makes them seem innocent when all it really does is make their guilt more glaringly obvious.  Sad, sad little neanderthal, what a gutless wonder.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised about much Jack.  I have to admit I do have several journalist and reporters as friends.  It's just they seem to know when to stop, when not to cross that line (although the line can get fuzzy I know).  I also know of several journalists or reporters that just don't give a damn about the fall out of their stories just as long as it gets their careers where they want them.  The same goes for politicans except they seem to be even worse.  It's tough because you want to believe that there is more humanity among Americans.....but I guess it's a dog eat dog world isn't it?  Very sad, especially for our warriors and for most Americans.

I get really tired of hearing from media that it's ok to report any information they get.  NO! No, it's not.  The problem is most media and most of our politicans do care that it could put lives or operations in danger.  There is a reason that some information is classified and if people aren't smart enough to understand that then well, we need more ditch diggers (sorry no disrespect to ditch diggers)  out there because they sure as hell aren't really qualified to serve the American Publics need and safety.

I have never been in the military but have MANY family members who have been in the military or are currently in the military.  It makes me sick to my stomach to know that cowards who hide behind a computer or politicians who have diarrhea of the mouth may put them at risk.  Especially since most of the time they don't report the real truth anyway, they take the story and twist it, turn it to fit their own perverted needs.  In my book they are no better than any other brainless radical zealot out there.

It's ok for our country to be proud and stand behind our warriors (male and female), and it's ok to get information that has been declassified to the American Public so we can all know the hard job these men and women face.   BUT when it puts those same lives at risk because someone decides it's ok to divert from being a responsible journalist to a Enquirer type journalist then in my book they are just traitors.....plain and simple.
