You don't have to have the exact same team every year. Most rosters get retooled from year to year dependant on what that team needs. I we can keep Harden and Ibaka for next year... hell yah! But eventually, we're going to have others come in and fill in the roster. The Thunder is one of the youngest teams in the league so, It's unfair to ask for only players that are better and younger than Harden and Ibaka... it's unrealistic. Sometimes we'll need vets like Fisher to come in and help. Even if it's only for a year at a time sometimes. Adendum: there's a draft every year AND every year... players get younger and some turn out to be studs. No need to look for the "better", "younger" players... just the right fit for the right price.
What about multi team / multi player trades...? Cap space can open up in a heartbeat. Just sayin...
I'm sure they have a pretty good idea. Since we didn't lose him in a stupid trade... I have to assume he'll be here for next season.

Shot attempts has a LOT to do with it when it comes to the Thunder. Russell Westbrook has the "Uncle Drew" mentality of "I GET BUCKETS"... and he WILL GO FOR those "buckets" no matter the situation. You have to see that this takes shots away from other players whether he's on or not. I agree that it helps when you have a 3 point threat... I'm saying, we don't have that LEGIT threat... we have a promising prospect in Harden. But he's not feared from the 3 point line. Opposing teams aren't losing focus because he's near the 3 point line. Harden crashes the boards like Ginobili... but he doesn't stroke the 3 like him. Unless OKC can get over its fast break / jump shooting mentality and start setting up some plays, we'll continue to be a 2 man army in Durant and Westbrook.... basically... We need Westbrook to play more of a point guard position and take SMART shots... not EVERY shot.
I am crazy... but that's neither here nor here, lulz. I'm just trying to be a realist. Westbrook is going to take his shots NO MATTER WHAT. This leaves Harden and Durant as our "specialists".... assumig Cook is gone. ALSO Cook is not the answer for us. I love the guy but, Scotty Brooks has no confidence in the guy. If he did, he would have played in the finals when Harden was cold. So, yah... I'm holding out hope that Jones III will work on his 3 point game as well. Cuz we won't have much in the way of specialists.... any better?
I'm not calling Westbrook a 3 point "specialist"... he's just going to take those shots whether he's "on" or not. So... that means less shots for his supporting cast. I just listed Jones and Maynor as the others I see putting up attempts. Again, if we want to keep Harden, Ibaka, Westbrook, Durant TOGETHER... say goodby to our current "specialists" Cook, Fisher... Someone would have to pick up the slack. I'm just saying nothing would change with Westbrook and any extra shots would be picked up by Maynor and JonesIII...
Westbrook will put up the shots whether he makes them or not. Unless he grows up. Whether they go in or not... shot taken. One less shot for the subsuquent scorer, thus the lesser need for more point scorers. at least 4-6 of their shots are already being taken up by Westbrook.
We have 3 point specialists... Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Maynor? Jones III? We have to remember, Westbrook is a shoot first point guard. With the amount of shots he takes... that negates the need for that "extra" scorer... Westbrook and Durant are the "extra" scorers.
If Jackson can pick up the slack... then Maynor is the sooner... Perk would be the later. We've got him on a long term deal.
If we're expecting to keep Serge, Harden, Westbrook, Durant together... we're gonna have to look at a thinner depth chart. So, Let's look at the probable two deep.

Westbrook / Maynor
2. SG.
Harden / Sefolosha
3. SF.
Durant / Jones III
4. PF.
Ibaka / Collison
5. C.
Perkins / Aldrich
If Aldrich continues to improve, I'm more than OK with this lineup next year.... however this probably means "happy trails" to...

@Koka_Da_Bauce I don't see what the differance is in between starting Harden and having him come off the bench. Won't Thabo still play amazing D against the second team? Won't Harden score do the same or slightly less against a starting D? ... Does this not even out or get better with another year? Just wondering?
