@eclecticsandra He (Obama) graduated from Harvard with a J.D. magna cum laude. In order to receive the honor of magna cum laude, one has to have a GPA between 3.80-3.89 Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_was_Barack_Obama's_grade_point_average#ixzz23KIQFsZg
Found this: 'In other words, before 2000, any lawyer who wanted to go on VOLUNTARY inactive status had to get a court order to do so. Therefore, ALL lawyers who voluntarily became inactive – did so via COURT ORDER. There were NO disciplinary actions against Mrs. Obama. She is eligible to return to active status at any time by paying her fees and completing the continuing education required of all lawyers.
So, the ARDC’s site indicates that her VOLUNTARILY inactive status came at HER request and was granted by a court order, as was ROUTINE before 2000.'
NOTHING on their site says or implies that there was a disciplinary aspect to it.
Snopes also says disbarment was a myth.
@Cake or Death I realized I had not responded to your comments and Native Americans. My mother was Chiricahua Apache, my father was born in County Armagh, N Ireland.
Vicki has an interest in Native Americans and she and her husband were involved with trying to end 'The Troubles' in N Ireland. Her husband also had a longtime interest in Indian nations but he never did join the chat room. She and I found we had a lot of things in common pretty quickly.
We have very similar tastes in music for the most part. We both love Abba btw. She introduced me to the folk songs of the 60's which are great. We're very into the Wolfe Tones- these are Irish musicians who wrote and perform great Irish political songs. Since the Brits banned their music on the airwaves they went underground and are revered by Irish Republicans (not to be confused with US Republicans lol. Just a few of our likes. Both of us really like Johnny Cash- his music- what he stood for. And of course there's Enya. :>D
We share the same political ideas, too. These are quite different from yours I think. :>D. To us socialism- real socialism, where it is voluntary and everyone pulls his weight can be a wonderful thing. The hard-working ditch digger having a good living standard - respected as a corporation president is, is appealing. I But socialism doesn't work well in 'real life' though, except maybe in Israel. It could never work in the US- totally impractical. Some social programs are necessary of course,
but you can't force people into loving their neighbors as themselves. Human nature is what it is and capitalism, with all its flaws, has the greatest viability.
Hope you saw the email notification.
@Cake or Death You have email regarding dementia. Very encouraging re products.V asked me to post this because she doesn't think you go to that email often and you'd probably want to act asap. She's ordering for her dog. Holistic vet told her about these. :>D
The Rowwdy I know: ' @Spiritwolf "I bet you used that word a lot when you had beers with boys right Rowwdy?" (quoting me here, without posting what he'd said that occasioned this answer from me),
LMAO! Awww...sucking black dick again eh SW. Were you the runt of the litter?
Actually having "wolf" in your nic is slanderous to wolves. They have more morals and pride than you do.'
**
And this guy knows my good friend of 14 years far better than I do.
@eclecticsandra @THEIFAM @Indverif Neither of the Obamas was disbarred. Myth. One of many. They let their licenses lapse.
@Raylmt @eclecticsandra @realitycheck Check out how well Romneycare is working in Massachusetts. Quite well. And the new plan is not socialized medicine.
@eclecticsandra Google Enya youtube.
@eclecticsandra That was supposed to go to Cake LOL
Cake can't find the post but the drug for dementia is dangerous and almost never works. Don't know if arthritis supplements work for hip dysplasia but Vicki's using a good supplement. For pets but human grade. Forget the other things you mentioned except milk thistle since I can't find the damned post LOL
BTW, is there anyone in the universe who doesn't like Enya??
@NolaMarchChandler @Rowwdy @patti NolaMarchChandler, he began it and he continues it. He just doesn't have the cojones to admit to being wrong. And he likes people speaking their minds- as long as what they say doesn't conflict with his views.
Everyone has a right to contribute to a conversation. Nobody has a right to ad hominem attacks.
@Cake or DeathI gather these were for her illness, not the senility. Drugs don't do well with those elevations. Natural remedies don't attack the body. They won't make her ill.
If you tell me the illness I will tell Vicki and she can ask that vet. This vet is fantastic from what she tells me.
The melatonin is supposed to help with dementia at least for some dogs.
Vicki's other dog was from a neglectful home. He won't like to be alone either. She's doing what she can. At least you can check these things out. If it is your dog's time then it is, but just because she is that age doesn't mean it has to be. :>D
@Cake or Death Did you know that Vicki's husband wrote a book about animals living on after death? I will ask her to put that into an email to you. I am sorry about your dog's problems. She is trying melatonin with hers. She is hoping she won't have to make that decision. A vet told her melatonin has good results with some dogs and senility. I don't know to what degree however. Worth a try but don't get sublingual. You can find natural solutions to many illnesses with animals as well as people. No side effects either. I wish there were a native remedy for it. Her little dog whimpers and turns around in circles. She said the vet said he's pretty healthy otherwise except for the deafness.
Look up natural solutions on the web. That's where I saw the nematodes and something about pussy willows which I don't remember.
Don't know why they'd question your being a gal. LOL
@patti is ticked Patti, I saw what happened between you and Vicki at first and how it changed. You are one classy lady. Wish you could lose the 'colorful expressions' though. ;>D.
One thing I really like about you is that you don't have to be in concert with someone else's views to have respect for that person. Maybe you do all the swearing to protect a very vulnerable heart. You seem to take the blog seriously, though at least at times. It's good that you're there for Mattstate.
It seems you have friendly feelings towards Vicki and I'm glad. I know she thinks a lot of you. She had told me of what happened to you with your husband and then I saw your description of it a few days ago. It's amazing you didn't lose your sanity with that experience. Really sorry you're still enduring pain but you might want to try the gin raisin thing. She had told me about it because of my grandmother's arthritis. Of course Indians shouldn't drink but as she says all the alcohol evaporates.
I understand how you and Cake feel about Rowwdy. I hope you can understand that I see him very differently. Who he is comes through loud and clear to me. What I see of you tells me that you make friends and keep them in the 'real world'.
There is a lot of rivalry and sometimes bad blood in the Indian world. That's what ultimately caused our chat room's failure.
How much could be accomplished in this madhouse we call our world if people respected each other and made real efforts towards understanding each other. Fighting just drags us down. My wife has suggested that God made a mistake when He created testosterone. LOL
@Cake or Death Cake, I've known her a long time. She is a good friend.
What you might not understand is how TS affects her. You can read about symptoms easily enough but the condition can be mild all the way up the ladder.
Cake most of her experience with Net communication comes from chat rooms. They're different as they take place in real time. Although there is miscommunication for sure, sometimes, it's still better that blogs because there can be interchange quickly enough to stave off problems.
I was in a Native American chatroom because there were issues that needed to be addressed at the time. I have no interest in blogs even though on occasion they become necessary, say around election time.
Vicki doesn't doesn't really see blogs. She envisions people interacting with people. When she first told me about this one I realized that there could be problems ahead and I did warn her, but she thought she could manage. She had a rapport with a few people and was really interested in finding out the truth about the Martin case. It had really bothered her to find out how almost nothing that had been presented originally seemed to be true. Her biggest worry is that Zimmerman's life had been put in danger because of this.
She stayed when she should have left- a good while ago. What had worked in the chat rooms wasn't working here. There were no moderators, insults were being hurled around right and left all over the place and the profanity was excessive to put it mildly.
I know you're friendly with Rowwdy and think he didn't do much, but I've seen all his posts regarding her and I don't see it that way. It might be just a blog to a lot of people but not to her. She puts herself out there. Rowwdy dug the knife in and kept twisting it. He's still doing it.
I called him on his crap and he didn't like it I'd called him a jerk because of his behavior with her, but you saw what he called me. Don't get me wrong- I don't give a flying fig about what he calls me- it just shows who he is.
He gets along fine with those who hold his views but if they're liberal, and on this blog not totally in Zimmerman's corner no respect is due them.
She intends to email you. She told me about your 60 year old flowers. She likes you. Your reaching out to her when she posted her explanation touched her. She's just had a really bad reaction to what has happened and is trying to deal with it. She's got the deaths to deal with and an older dog she loves very much who went senile. I'm not 40 yet but I see what it's like as you grow older and relatives and friends die. I met her father-in-law a couple of times. He was a nice guy. She knows it's best he's passed because he was in a state of mourning the loss of his wife for the 3 years since she died.
One thing about the Japanese beetles. Better to control them naturally or you could wind up killing the beneficial insects. I think nematodes could help but I really know very little about gardening. You have great soil but we have to really work on ours out here. A lot of clay.
@Indverif Hello, Indv. :>D
Your suspicions were right. LOL I've known her for many years. We're not always in constant contact- more like in spurts. We maintain phone contact and I come to visit when I can.
I hadn't talked to her for a couple of months until around the time she was on Wagist. She told me what was going on but it took my coming to it to find out how toxic it could be. Absolutely the wrong place for her with all the negativity and when you put together race issues and no moderator it seems to become bedlam.
She is going to try to come back to say goodbye to those who were friendly towards her. Rowwdy's behavior towards her pushed the envelope over a cliff.
Why do you come here? Masochistic tendencies? LOL
@Rowwdy Oh, yeah- let's not forget your comment about being afraid of "feminazis" like her. That led to more. Let's not forget your put-down of her because she has to be home as much as she is.
I remember yet another crap comment of yours- that she probably likes pitting people against each other that she was probably enjoying this. This is the polar opposite of who she is and you damned well know it. EVERYTHING she's tried to do here was in attempts to reconcile people to each other- finding the best in people.
Ever see a nasty joke? All of her humor is designed to give people a smile because she likes to lift people's spirits. That was one thing we loved about her in the chat room. When she would come in there were always a bunch of greetings.
@Rowwdy Your idea is that I made a jibe at you. You posted it. What you conveniently left out is WHY I said that. Find your comment and post it - along with mine.
And, sorry- I know exactly what happened. She told you. Others responded to it. I saw the interchange- all of it.
Let me remind you: she was on the 2:30 thread. When she went to her email she saw a message from Theifam. He said that you had been attacking her and him on the Drug thread. He became 'sheifam' and she was "sweet little vicki 'who was being influenced by theifam. Then something about your not liking fence -sitters.
She reacted to that-strongly. It was a combination of her TS together with the fact that she had lost several family members dear to her in the preceding several weeks and had just gotten off the phone after making arrangements to visit the grave one whose funeral she had just missed because she wasn't well enough to attend. She had gone without sleep for days except for a few hours.
So she went there and said what you saw. NOTHING nasty- just emotive.
You responded in your usual manner. You made some kind of comment as to whether she was a 'he' or a 'she'. She told you that the facebook picture you obviously saw was her husband's picture.
You responded again in your manner. She wanted to convince you she was who she said. She mentioned her uncle. You responded you had no interest in her family. She said she only mentioned them for purpose of ID. She mentioned Paul; what's-his-name knew who he was. You answered Paul knew a lot of things. She offered to give her number so you would know the truth- you responded "Whaaaaaat"? This happened before some of the other comments. You came out with your comments about her idea of phone contact- hence the whaaaat and so on.
She was becoming more and more frantic- since you have no idea of how TS can manifest (uncle or no uncle) or you don't give a damn, you said she sounded needy. I don't need to go into more.
I think it was the next day when she'd had a few hours' sleep, she realized that she had overreacted to the initial sarcastic comments that YOU made on a site she wasn't going to- that you weren't 'lighting into her'- just getting your 'digs' in- you're good at that.
She then posted to both sites what had happened with her and why she had reacted that strongly with explanation of what had happened- this was after your comments to Cake or Death and her responses. When Cake saw this she gave a very nice response to her.So did Patti later on.
Then came the rest of your crap. That she considered what she had been through worse than what others had- when she had NEVER done this. When's the last time you lost several people close to you in really short time? You think that maybe everything might have been coming down on her?
She is very protective of kids and cares a lot about women who've been brutalized. You called the cousin a chippie. She wasn't thrilled with your judgmental attitude when you had no idea what had happened.
Then later as she talked about what happened to her- the attempted rape- how the cops had treated her- you made some comment that you'd doubted it had happened. Think you were suggesting she was looking for sympathy.
She asked you to please not be insulting and to please not use profanity when you addressed her. You made sure you used it every time. Oh yeah- said she was playing victim because she asked for empathy re what the profanity does and manipulating when she asked Patti to intervene so that you'd stop out of deference to her. She and Patti were friendly as you know. They are different people and have different views on Zimmerman but Pattiisticked sees beyond that.
And when she said 'men like Rowwdy' she was referring to your doubting her- re what had happened to her and felt you might have done that with some women you had interviewed when you were a cop. This had to do with some women making false claims of rape.
And finally, you damned well are the catalyst that caused her not to come back to the blog. Everything converged. Your stinking attitude, the deaths, the constant attacks on others by others-all contributed, but I still remember what your attitude caused her to feel- how frustrated and embarrassed she felt. I told her that others on the blog would understand, even though some of your pals might come out to back you up.
You are thin-skinned when it comes to anything you perceive as slighting you, but you don't give a flying fig what you cause others- at least others who might have political differences from you or who commit the unpardonable sin of trying to get the facts together on Geo Zimmerman.
@THEIFAM @patti As I appreciate comments you made trying to make Vicki and Mattstate feel better.
See the bull he pulls? He doesn't show what I was responding to. Then, stung, in true character he goes for the crudity. Don't know if you saw that he doesn't drink (so he says). So what we see is the real Rowwdy.
I noticed something. Don't think he likes older women. See his condescending comments to Eclecticsandra? For instance at least twice I've seen him ask her Can't you look anything up?
