You're definitley not alone. i certainly have my days. But when I start feeling like that, I will make up my face, or instead of wearing flats with my jeans I'll throw on some heels and make myself feel preety in whatever way i can.
being and feeling pretty is so much more than just how you look facially. Its the whole package.
i also get inspired by looking at celebs who i admire for thier beauty. They encourage me to fix myself up.
but all women face this at some point in time.
Find a person whose look inspires you and work on that for yourself.

@Zindzi_Zenani @Elegance Meh. Gonna have to disagree. He chose the woman who IN MY EYES he had some kind of negative history with. PERIOD. Therefore this in my eyes is a PERSONAL issue and not one of him randomley hating on the team members women as a way to insult the men who was pissed off at.
Like I said. He was equally pissed at Bosh, Le Bron and Wade. But Bosh's wife got called out b/c he most likely had some kind of history with her unlike the others wives or g/f's. PERIOD.

Its confusing to me as to how feminist minded women want to be proud of have carefree sexual lifestyles with any and everyone, and claim to be PROUD and not ashamed of thier choices, then get mad when thier sexual lifestyle comes to the forefront or somone from the past claims they screwed them. SO WHAT!
Women today are more than happy to talk about how they can sleep around, except as I stated before, women want to downplay their sexual lifestyles they claim t o be so proud of, when they are trying to have a certain image or want suddenly no longer want to be associated to that lifestyle. LOL

If this was all about simply "being a woman and being attacked"it was clear Lil Wayne was also pissed off with Lebron and De wayne wade (whom he referred to as a woman). These men also have wives and g/f's. They managed to escape Lil Wayne's tirade - but their husbands didn't. So that says to me this was more of a PERSONAL issue Wayne had with Adreinne than him just slewing insults randomly at teammates wives and g/f's.
@Zindzi_Zenani @Elegance If it was simply about her being a woman, then why didn't he attack the wives and g/f's of Dewayne Wade and Lebron James? He called both of them out like he did Chris Bosh.
So if it was less of a personal issue and more of a woman hating issue, all of the wives and g/f's of the team he mentioned would have been called out.

There are MANY cases of female hatred that are more serious than some loser saying "I slept with her". Seriously!
This woman is now living a nice life with apparently a husband that loves her, why the hell should she care about what some dumb ass rapper has said? WHy waste energy on petty stuff like this that have been going on since the beginning of time.
WOmen are JUST as if not much CRUELER to other women in these same cases. A woman just like a man will be the first to put another woman's sexual history on blast as a way to knock her down a peg. This IMO is not a man hating woman issue, its an issue that people have and will use against others they do not like.

Women are more likely to broadcast another woman's personal sexual history. So why are we not addressing them? Is it just men who do this? NO.
Many women have been the target of loser men who claim to have slept with them. Im sure these women have survived and been able to live their lives just like Adrienne is doing.
There are more pressing issues for me to be concerned with in terms of woman hating than a rapper and former groupie/model who used these same kinds of men to get ahead financially. If you interact with trash do not be surprised when that trash shows back up on your front door.
What's funny though is it all goes back to the previous articles where women want to defend their rights to be who they want and live the carefree sexual lifestyles and BE PROUD OF IT. Game and use the very low class woman hating men for their money and to get famous. And then cry foul when these men act like what they are and have always been - woman hating fools! yet when her reputaition for that lifestyle becomes the forefront in questioning her credibility suddenly we need to forget about the bad choices or the choices she made that benefited her at that time?
LIL WAYNE is not credible. We need to pick and choose our battles.

If she or her husband are so hurt by this they have legal recourse they can pursue. But i am NOT going to get all up in arms over a woman who benefited off of a certain misogynist lifestyle that has come back to bite her in the butt.
If women want to end misogynony then STOP intermingling with, supporting and buying thier music, showing up at their events! Its that simple.
Instead. Women want to gain from these kinds of men and get all the recognition from them sexually and financially, and then cry foul when these men do EXACTLY what they have always done and been known to do - HATE WOMEN. Regarding this whole argument about misogynoy and why we need to take this article as something serious in taking a stand against hate direced at women. lemme as yall something. Jamila admits that Mrs. Bosh was once a former model for skin mags and such and partied. I'm assuming she partied in circles with the likes of the Lil Waynes of the world and in fact is she was in skin mags (yes she was in BLACK MEN'S SKIN MAGS) then it stands to reason she was in constant contact with men who degraded women in some fashion.
Women concerned about misogynoy do not intermingle, sleep with or interact with men who uphold this.
The fact is many women like Mrs. Bosh (yes even Black women like her) are fine with dealig with misogynist low class woman hating rappers and such as long as they are benefiting in some way - be it employment, becoming popular by these men b/c of thier looks and/or bodies and making money and getting fame and recognition as such.
If Miss Bosh was in fact apart of skin mags and partying it up on that scene to where she would have interactions with the likes of LIL WAYNE, then it stands to say that she wasn't so concerned with mysogonists like Wayne as long as she was getting paid and partying it those circles.
See how this works? Once again women want to have their cake and eat it too. You cannot gain from the misogyonist lifestyle and then look down on it later when it no longer benefits you.
So I'm not buying this whole we gotta feel sorry for her and defend her from misogyny. UHM if she was traveling and partying it up in circles where the Lil Waynes of the worlds dwell then I'm convinced she was aware and ok with these kinds of men as long as she was benefiting in some way.
@MySmile Yes its a very real disorder. It sounds like your sister suffers with it. Some cases are more extreme than others but its definitely fueled by anxiety anxiousness that skin picking seems to relieve temporarily (the scars left behind cause more anxiety).

Seriously therapy is in order to help her undo some o this damage.
Black women need to stop being afraid of getting HELP. Therapy is a good thing especially when you have this many issues - many f these issues she has cannot be worked out alone. She needs help and on a consistent basis to get better and heal.
It seems she has dermatoli something (I looked it up). Its when one picks skin severely. A guess what i food? That one of the doctors who treats patients with this disorder says a lot of skin pickers pick because of troubling childhoods or as a way to get back at thier parents who hurt them or who they are angry at.
Please seek help for your issues b/c that is the only way you will heal. There are tons of resources and info out there to help you. A blog like this can only give you support but cannot help you get better. Take time to seek professioal help and guidance by Professionals who are used to dealing with people who have your issues.
For the record innocent women with clean records and pasts also get trashed in the media. MICHELLE OBAMA??? OPRAH? JENNIFER ANISTON? NICOLE KIDMAN? Why are people making this out to be "yall not supprtung her b/c of her past as a groupie" That makes NO SENSE whatsoever especially when we constantly see innocent and/or celeb women with GREAT reputations being picked on and trashed in the media.

Michelle Obama gets slandered on the daily by the hour and she has a clean reputation. Is she suffering? Does she need need me or other regular BW to defend her? NO. She has a husband, and plenty other supporters to defend her name and honor. Same thing here with Adrienne.
Adrienne has it right actually. her best bet is to keep it moving. If she is bothered by his comments she can sue him. She doesn't need us to feel sorry for her, or even care about what some dumb rapper who has been proven to hate women says.

Why folks on here are catching feelings, accusing people of "hating her b/c she was a groupie" is just another form of deflection and typical pathology of Black women who just see things one way and if others don't agree or see it the same, we are the ones with the problem.
Adrienne is not the first NOR the last female celebrity to be publically trashed. What she needs to do like all other female celebs in this situation is make a point by pursuing legal action.
This is not about whether she deserves anything based on her past. As stated Michelle Obama has a clean record and still gets trashed. Its about what are our priorities as regular women when it comes to expending energy on these kinds of issues. Do celebrity women need us defending them or can they use their public platform to defend themselves?

How is me or anyone on this blog caring about what Lil Wayne said about some athletes wife gonna change anything? SHoudl we all get our picket signs, go to Miami and have a March for Adrienne? I'm not sure what some people expect. Some of us just do not see this situation as all that darn serious. And not even the so called VICTIM sees it worth mentioning or addressing. @Toni_M Honestly Toni, I think this is going off the reservation. Mainly b/c we are talking about an incident where no one is really being HARMED to the point they cannot defend themselves. And also an incident where a woman can take LEGAL action against her attacker. A woman who has resources, TIME, MONEY, and A HUSBAND to defend her honor and name.

There are bigger issues in this word for us to be concerned with when it comes to women and suffering. Some of us just don't feel this is one of them. So sue us!
