@B34R51 Lions 9, Bears 11. http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings, try again.
@markbulg Last time I checked a team starts a lot more than 4 players, though yes, Schwartz did a good job at picking the right guys.
@B34R51 @JimmyAdams Funny, nobody has the Bears ahead of the Lions this year. The Bears will have earn that.
@Bill_Bates_40 I take it you're a glass "half empty" type. I stand by my words.
@Bill_Bates_40 @WilRanney I'm pretty sure you just described the opposite of consensus. Regardless, Jim would have a third of the vote in every personnel decision - if it were in fact a vote - it isn't - it's consensus building. You act as if he bends to Mayhew on every decision, when in reality, by their own emission, they discuss until everyone comes to an amicable conclusion.
I'm glad Schwartz is finally getting some recognition.
Did you know the Packers had more penalties than the Lions last year, along with 3 other teams?
@22DMCY @RSHAW7777 The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Bill was Schwartz's first mentor.
@Zfan Well, we've managed to keep all those high draft picks despite the staggering cost, and oh yeah, they've all panned out (Fairley needs an off season and healthy foot), who gets credit for that. Remember, players are brought on board by consensus with the Lions organization, they wouldn't be there unless Schwartz wanted them.
@Bill_Bates_40 Schwartz and Mayhew and Lewond use consensus decision making. They don't draft or pick up a player unless they all agree on it. Hard to remove any of them from getting credit for the turn around.
