@MaxEngleman @WilliamLankford I understand the article perfectly. I just don't think I should be forced to feel sorry because a few "homophobes" abandon someone because they tell them their gay. And there is a choice involved. I understand it may feel you don't have a choice, but you do. Get delivered! Being gay is the most unnatural thing I've ever heard of.
Okay, just for arguments sake, let's say someone "comes out of the closet" as a child molester or serial killer who likes to torture his victims and eat them after they kill them. Could they expect anyone to understand their sick perverted behavior and accept them? No, everyone would get away from them because their freaks. They would turn them in for the crimes they had committed. Same thing with your friend "Jacob". Everyone abandoned him because they want nothing to do with such sick behavior. It has nothing to do with being a Christian. Paul said "does not nature itself teach you it is a shame for a man to have long hair?" Nature itself tells us a lot of things. That's why even people living in sin have a problem with homosexuality. It goes against nature. Romans the first chapter talks about both men and women going against the "natural use" of their desires and bodies and lusting women after women and men after men. It is unnatural, it cannot bring forth life, so don't call it a :"lifestyle", and don't try to change other people to force them to accept your disgusting acts. As a Christian, I pray for people who choose this behavior just as I would any other sin so they can escape hell. But make no mistake. It is not just as other sins to God. Leviticus says it is an abomination to God.
