Let's not forget their conquest of Asia ... they pushed on, conquering Iran (Persia) and forcing the Zoroastrians to convert. Most were butchered. Buddhists & Hindus were also attacked. Pakistan, India, present day Bangladesh, Afghanistan, etc., were all overrun and conquered.

Muslims have been persecuting and killing Christians for centuries. It continues till today! Just Google "Islamic persecution of Christians". Right now, the islamic government of Sudan is slaughtering the Nuba people of South Kordofan state, in southern Sudan. They are mostly Christian.
AND: Since they do NOT recognize Jesus as the Savior and Son of God, why would they recognize the "Virgin Mary"? They desecrated cathedrals with images & statues of her.

Islam NEEDS TO CHANGE ... The West does NOT need to change to accomodate islam! It's the 21st century. The "infidels" have never been compensated for destroyed homes, churches/synagogues, schools, WHOLE COMMUNITIES such as the Armenians in Turkey ... I can't help but wondering, what "history" books they are reading, to be so incredibly ignorant of events since at least the first World War!? I am also very amused, that while they try to defend Japan's unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor, and judge the US use of the Atomic Bomb, their terrorists are trying to get the technology so they can unleash unprovoked attacks against civilian targets. In the meantime, Japan and the US are ALLIES ... I guess the Japanese recognized the reasons for what happened during WW II, and have come to consider us FRIENDS! I have a friend, who is a devout Christian ... He has managed to convert some 30 Iraqi muslims to Christianity. He reads the New Testament with them, while they read the koran. They compare scriptures, talk about their "faith" ... The words of Christ stand in such stark contrast to the words of mohammed, they realize that they soon realize they've been lied to! They know that their people need to change; that their culture causes death & destruction, pain and suffering.
His love and compassion for these lost souls, has done more to convince them of their need for salvation, than any tough political talk. And now they, being such changed people, are showing a good example to their friends & family, and making positive changes in their lives.
It's like Mahatma Gandhi said, "Be the change YOU want to see"!
We have to be cautious, and we have to tell the truth about islam -- but it is not a solution to hate muslims & wish death to them. They are the unfortunate descendants of people who were forced under brutal conquest, to convert.to islam. Now, we in the West, have to show them a better way!

No, Aprenous, unfortunately, Lying is VERY islamic ... in fact, the Arabic words "Taqiyya" or "Kitman", which are often used interchangeably, are a form of deception in which one conceals the truth, in order to gain the element of surprise over an opponent. These lies are meant to protect a muslim from danger, persecution, etc., but are in fact usually told to gain the upper hand. This would explain the lies the West is fed about islam's "peaceful" intentions. One statement in English/Western languages -- a totally different "translation" in arabic.
The UK "imam" Anjem Choudry, is one of few "honest" islamists who boldly declares his intentions, his views on the West, his desire to subjugate us, his total acceptance of every aspect of sharia!

You know very well that this verse was ABROGATED by verses written AFTER this one. This verse was written when the muslims were weak & needed to "get along" with the people they were living with at the time.

1) Rape is a CRIME in the West, and the RAPIST -- not the victim -- is punished for this crime!
2) Since a woman can be murdered for being a victim -- there are no accurate "rape statistics" from islamic countries ... we DO, however, know about the women who DARED to challenge the system, reported the crime -- and some found themselves buried to their waist, with a crowd of rabid rabble throwing "the right sized stones" at her, so she doesn't die too quickly, or survive "her punishment"! Gang rape, in particular, is used as "punishment" for "offenses" committed by male relatives. The women are targeted for "punishment", not once, but often three times. First she is subjected to the horrors of being raped, by GANGS of men, the assaults lasting for hours. Then, if she reports it to the police, she is often raped at the police station, by another gang of "men"/police. And if that isn't enough, she can be charged with adultery & executed, or murdered by her family. Is it any wonder that rape is common? The men know they can rape with impunity!
