@18thCenturyFox I remember seeing Groundcover here and thinking for sure I would buy it. Then I swatched (or tried to swatch) it in-store and could not believe that absolutely NO colour came off on my finger - none at all! I'm so glad I got to try it out rather than ordering it because, as lovely as it looked, it was just useless.

I'm with xamyx...I've yet to meet a brown eye shadow I haven't loved. I've been lucky in that, so far as I can recall, all the ones I have (including Sexpresso) work well. But I almost always "try before I buy" so I generally avoid issues like fallout, poor pigmentation, etc.

Back from my Sephora makeover and it was a MAJOR SUCCESS!  I asked if using the new UD Naked foundation would be a good idea and the SA said that as I love Guerlain LdeP, the Naked one would probably work well for me too.  The whole experience was amazing and informative (and I found a new-to-me lip gloss from Nars that I might wear in place of lipstick!)  She used Diorshow mascara on me as a finishing touch and it did, indeed, finish the look beautifully but, as I warned her, I always get a grey shadow on one under-eye area almost no matter what mascara I use or whether I set my concealer with powder or what....and, sure enough, I did some shopping, had lunch, got home and there's the tell-tale, grey smudge!  She did suggest trying Blinc tubing mascara and to return it if it doesn't work out for me.  Anyway, it was all such a positive, pleasant and learning experience! (and she left my brows alone!)

This is a timely question as I am getting one today. I got an email offer from Sephora the other day and since my daughter is getting married, I figured "what the heck? Let's see what they come up with as an idea for my "Mother of the Bride" makeup." So I might be able to answer this question better later today. The last "make-over" I had was awful. She put some frosted magenta lipstick on me and also did my brows and I left feeling that I looked like Groucho Marx!

What's a "liquid concealer"?  I use MAC ProLongwear but I don't really consider that a "liquid" - the texture isn't any more liquid than my MUFE or the Rimmel stuff I have in a squeezy tube with a brush tip, even though it's in a pump. It's pretty much the same texture as several of my other concealers in tubes with doe foot applicators.  Can someone give me an example of a liquid concealer because maybe I have to try one - I'm obsessed with finding the ultimate concealer.

To some extent it depends on the actual lipstick formula but as I've got older, I have found myself relying on lip liner more than I used to if I'm wearing a darker shade of lipstick. And Lise Watier makes a colourless liner called "Virtual Lip Liner" which is excellent and leaves no ugly ring if your lipstick wears off!

I used my Naked 1 palette for the first time in a while.  Half-Baked on the lid with Darkhorse (I LOVE Darkhorse) in the outer V and smudged into my lash line, like liner.  I used MAC Orb to blend out toward the brow bone. Laugh a Lot on my lips and Pinch o Peach on my cheeks.

Yes, indeed.  While I don't like wasting money on a crummy product, even if it's only 5 or 10 bucks, there is no question that when something costs 50 dollars or more, I do expect better from it than I would from a cheaper or "drugstore" product.  It is really disappointing when a high end and costly product turns out not to perform, and it is a big waste of money - and how many of us can easily afford to basically throw away 75 bucks on an eye cream that is dreadful or a foundation that looks horrible once applied and doesn't live up to its claims.

@Daniellenm30 It's not a lot!  It's actually quite NORMAL! (evil laugh....)

I have to be up around 200, if not more, if I include the palettes I have. Eye shadow is really my weakness (ya think?). O geez, I just remembered about cream/pot shadows - I hadn't even factored them in til now.  Okay, probably up around 250 or 300.  I really have to STOP...

I love TheBalm eyeshadows but I have so many of the ones in those palettes that it would be a bit pointless for me to take advantage of this offer, even though it's quite amazing.  Now, if only they'd make Insane Jane available on its own, life (well, as it relates to eyeshadows from TheBalm, at least) would be perfect.

Haul:  I don't think I bought anything this week

Weekend plans: I've started taking "real" yoga (rather than the free classes offered at my gym, where there isn't a lot of correction and there are all levels working together....not great for a newbie like me) so I'm doing some classes this weekend and we've also got a big family reunion at the cottage; I thought we'd be wedding dress shopping as well but last night, first outing and first gown she tried, my daughter found her perfect wedding dress! It was love at first sight for all of us assembled there).

Favourite accessory: scarves! Because most of my clothes are simple and in solid shades, scarves are a great way to dress things up and add a bit of flair as well. And they're practical - if I'm cold, a large scarf can help keep me warm; if it's raining, I have something to toss over my head; if I break my arm, it can act as a sling (sorry, that's my old Girl Guide training kicking in).

Like xamyx, I really like looks from the TF Natural palette, or I fall back on MAC's Naked Lunch and Mulch. As I get older, I find that a lighter colour on my lid (TF Silk Teddy or MAC Naked Lunch) with a darker shade just on the outer V area to widen and elongate my eyes looks most flattering, not just for work but for almost any time.  Pink or rose blush on my cheeks and always a colour on my lips - MAC's Plumful, Craving or Capricious are 3 I can always rely on. A bit of dark brown or black liner and I'm basically done. I rarely wear mascara because no matter the brand, no matter what I do, I always seem to get some "migration" under one eye - just my left eye!

@Nikachelle And NO BARK!!!!  My MAC SA, who is the manager of that Mac counter, was really hoping Bark would be brought back but she sort of doubted it as it didn't seem to be well known or sought after all that much. I'd have loved to have tried it.

The only ones I have (not counting YSL's Touche Eclat, which I always considered more of a concealer) are Mac's Strobe cream and Clarins's Instant Light Complexion Perfector in the light pink/rose shade. I like them both well enough though I use them pretty infrequently.

Only ONLINE??? That sucks big time for people like me who've waited SO long for Moth Brown and have bought other shadows to take its place and would like to see it to see if it's now surplus to needs!

Except for Sunny Seoul (clever name), none of those shades would be for me but I will probably check out Sunny Seoul - it looks so pretty.

Fair, cool toned

Pink lipstick (I look dead with beige on my lips)

Plum blush

Either black or brown but the brown has to be lacking in any red tones (Gosh Truly Brown is a good one for me)

I do but it's the minimal stuff I wear "en route" - tinted moisturizer which is my SPF or mineral powder which is also my SPF and I don't leave the house without SPF on my face.  Lip balm and maybe some blush because I'd so pale people might think I was dead.  I take it all off afterward but reapply for my walk back to my car (3 blocks in this summer sun is too much sun exposure for me)

None of the things that look nice to me are different from stuff I have already - purple liner, violet eye shadow, etc.  I'll take a pass on this one (though I'm still feeling the itch for Dior's Golden Savannah in spite of all logic saying it's nothing I don't already have .... yeah, but I don't have it all in one place!)
