I recently picked up NARS Caravaggio, and have been thinking of ways to use it; I'm looking forward to trying this look with it. It's not *exact*, but with a bit of tweaking & layering, it just may come pretty close.
I saw these at CVS just a few days ago. The colors seem softer in real life, IMO. I actually cam thisclose to picking up Yogaga & Gym Dandy, but again, I'm planning on sorting out my polishes and checking what shades I may actually need (those two are my go-to shades, so I'm sure I have something simiar). The red seems a bit smokier, from what I could see in the bottle, than in the promo pic, but it is very pretty. All of them, actually, seemed "softer" IRL.
Have you tried NARS Mekong? I've had luck with it. The color itself is beautiful, but the microglitter is soft, and I haven't experienced fallout.
I can honestly say that it makes no difference. Maybe because I'm older, or perhaps because I've never had major skin issues, I don't know. For me, wearing makeup is no different than wearing jewelry; there are days I wear neither, and I feel exactly the same. Granted, I didn't start to feel this way until I reached my late-20s, but sometimes makeup just isn't an option, and I still have to go about my life, and my attitude shouldn't change. I also know many women who wear absolutely no makeup, and they are some of the strongest people I've ever known.
None; I love them *all*. Okay, not *exactly* true. As much as it pains me to say it, I have to go with L'Oreal Studio Secrets quad in The Naturals. The shadows have a great texture, but there just isn't enough pigment. They would work on some with extremely fair, translucent skin, or as blending/transitional shades (which I bought it for, as travel companions to my Naked palettes), but on their own, not a fan. As much as I *love* the Studio Secrets singles, I find the quads seriously lacking; they're even worse than Maybelline (the *worst* DS brand for shadows, IMO). Overall, though, I find browns to be consistent across all brands. As wary as I am with MAC, I have to say I have had great experience within the neutral range, and with CoverGirl, as well.
I love the sheen on this one. I'm surprised at how "natural" this one may look on my skin. I normally go for cooler, duskier shades, but I have found *another* product I must try. My poor bank account...
It sounds like Holt Renfrew has got some sort of exclusivity. That sucks...
Also, Harrod's in the UK might? If Illamasqua does, Harrod's may. Of course, there's that blasted shipping cost... The department store in Toronto doesn't ship?
I bought that DVD awhile ago, but I haven't watched it yet, but from what I've seen in promos & trailers, I love the whole look. Now I'm apprehensive about watching it, LOL. It's actually a very interesting story, so I'll take my chances, at least I've been warned!
What about Saks, or Burberry's site? Do they deliver to Canada? I also remember reading somewhere (a random blog I came across) that Burberry cosmetics are now being sold in Canada.
Yes, the eyebrows are fierce! Is it just me, or does it seem the Fashion Gods are trying to bring back the 80s? All of these recent promo pics, NARS' New Wave palette, all the neon lippies & polishes, the makeup shades in general; I don't know if I should be excited, or afraid, LOL.
I remember being around 4-5 and using markers to "paint" my nails. This kind of takes me back to those days, LOL.
I'm getting more Avril Lavigne... Does that help (just a *little*)?
Very pretty, but I'll probably pass. There isn't a Burberry counter at any of the malls I frequent, so I haven't been bitten by the "Burberry Bug", yet. I'll likely make more of an effort to track down a counter once I whittle my list down a bit more (I have only a handful of items left). That berry eyeshadow is gorgeous, though, and the Midnight Blue is something I've been wanting to check out.
I have alot of shades in this range in my stash, but for some reason, this one stands out. Maybe it's the perfect amount of pink... I have several that are more nude/beige, and some that are pinker, but I keep coming back to this post. I will be swatching this one the next time I'm at a Dior counter.
I'm in love with the color, but after reading the other comments here, it's a safe bet Christine didn't just get a "dud". Oh, well...more money for other things!
LOL. I thought the same thing, initially, when I saw the product photo. However, the microshimmer makes it a very interesting shade. I will pass on this one, only because it just isn't my personal taste, but it's alot prettier than I expected.
Everything is *beautiful*! I read your comment about not getting your brows perfectly flat (although I didn't notice), but have you tried making eyebrow covers from liquid latex?
If I plan to be indoors all day, with artificial light, then I'll just do my makeup in the bathroom mirror. There are no windows, and the light is fairly bright, but even. If it's an outdoor activity, I typically use a tinted moisturizer with a high SPF, sometimes over another sunscreen, followed by mineralized powder, with SPF (I'm quite light, from the Irish side, yet I tan instantly, from the Greek side), so I don't really have a need for special lighting. The same really goes for evening, as well, but I'll sometimes do it in my bedroom, where the light isn't as strong. I'm moving this weekend, so I'm sure this will all change; for one, I'll have less counter space in the bathroom. I may just invest in a vanity, or large desk and mirror. The biggest problem I have (and it's always been the issue), is I never have enough storage space...
Now I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything, after reading most of these comments. I'm still willing to try the brand, at some point, but I think I'll skip this formula. I have *enough* issues with chipping, even with a "solid" formula, and I think these would just be a big waste of time for me.
