My question is...how did we not see this coming? I doubt Smith just decided today. This had to have been in the works for a few weeks. If our coaches had any inkling then why have we stuck to our guns about taking one te. I would say we need two in this class now.

McDonnell has great facilities, fan base, and AD support. Plus he makes $433K base with another 50 to 150K in bonuses and endorsements. As for stability they're joining the ACC for the 2014 baseball season.
You get fans by having a good product on the field and a great game day experience. Neither of which are in Athens right now.
First and foremost the facilities need a huge face lift. The stadiums at Arkansas, LSU, South Carolina, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Florida, and Ole Miss are on par with some of the nicest single A and Double A ball parks. The new coach needs to focus on recruiting the state and the East Cobb program. Perno pissed a lot of people off in that program with his 'I'm better than you attitude'.
Dan McDonell would be an awesome hire. I don't think it will happen and here's why. Louisville has the money to keep him and they have facilities that are 100 times better than ours.

Guys I don't like this and I know a lot of y'all on here will not like this either. I'm hearing that Perno may get one more year to work things out. If this is the case, this will further prove my feelings that I have about McGarity.
