@jonthiele That's needs based drafting, slating which positions you want in which rounds, and you lose out on talent that way.  Anyway, safety is probably a higher priority than front 7, since it's one player versus a rotation along the d-line, which can be addressed later.  Also, they need a back up QB, which should be relatively high on the priority list.

Not sure about the first round, but I'd love for TT to get Kirk Cousins in the second, trading up to do so, if need be.

#1 priority is actually Safety.  Along the D-line, they can make due rotating players.  Not so in the defensive backfield.  They need one guy that can be relied upon, putting it higher in the priorities than getting one stud DE.  The loss of Cullen Jenkins was not the reason for the defensive collapse, the loss of Nick Collins was.  Look at how the defense did with Jenkins out in 2010.  They were still very productive.  Not so with Charlie Peprah in there for Collins.  If you have a safety in there that you can rely on, you can move the CBs and the other safety closer to the line of scrimmage, bump the receivers more, and open up more blitz options.  Can't do that with Peprah back there, he's simply too slow, leaving him on an island is asking for a big play.

@Taryn Miller  @southsidetom Actually, the problem begins at safety.  Look at the 2010 season, how did the Packers defense play without Jenkins, who, other than Collins, is the only difference between the two squads.  Get a safety that is not a huge liability in coverage, and it changes the entire defense.

@B34R51  @steppxxxxz LOL, typically OL aren't drafted in the first?  What an idiotic statement.  NO player is "typical" to the first round.  There are 53 players on each team, how many are first round picks?
