@Bill_Bates_40 @Taryn Miller There really isn't one school that boasts as being a top producer of QBs except USC,who has a track record of failure based on the NFL standard.
BYU,with McMahon,Steve Young, and now Kaepernick has a better showing than USC and aren't rated as a top producer.
Yikes......another USC quarterback.....enough said.
...but.....you used a 1st rd pick on the elder Weeden...and he could be the guy for years to come...LMAO!
The Jets are trying to do a refund scam for Tebow...problem is the cash receipt the Jets are producing is for a false product.
Of coarse Jon Gruden didn't think the right job was around this year...no HC that already got a team SB ready retired.
Here is what would be professional...all these veteran players who know they are/would only be getting voted in due to popularity before the voting begins to have heir names erased from consideration before hand. They know who they are and know it's what they should do.....yet don't.
Which ever team brings him in as the 'starter' is telling the fans we don't care about winning the SB,just increasing ticket revenue...if he is still a selling point.
*Tell me again why the Jets traded for Tim Tebow, because I’ll be damned if either I or Rex Ryan or Tony Sparano can figure it out."
IMO,it was a joke that was derived during a drinking stuper and over heard and when they sobered up and saw it on the front page of every NY paper, they had to ride along and then couldn't stop it as it became an even bigger joke....it became fact.
The question is...what and who are the bigger jokes?
Doesn't matter, their a one and done team and Ray Lewis' career is over.Move on Ray and enjoy the 5 year ride waiting for the HOF doors to swing wide open for you which is so deserved.
Don't linger about hoping falsely for another SB....Flacco will never get it done.
The Jets probably did use him as a marketing resource and as a failed flame to be put under Sanchezs butt to help him aspire to play better. However,Tebow is as much at fault for the whole season of clusterfu%ks that occured and it started with the accepting and willful enjoyment of the spectacle of the press on his arrival as a freaking back-up.He played them for his advantage as much as he got played or lack of on the field.Him possibly going home to Jac may happen and it will be for the same marketing resource and not by any means because he is a QB,much less a great one.
Perhaps you can get all the players to give back 50% of this years salary for not showing up and not playing up to the pay you took each week.
Then and only then, would I actually believe any players sentiment of...don't blame the Coach it wasn't his fault.
Green Bay won't pay him that money and I'm happy they won't.The Packers may suffer at times due to the lack of a run game but what we get from what we have always seems to be enough to get the job done and obtain the goals expected more often than those with the much bally-hooed run game and their over-paid RBs.
It's my understanding that Jennings wants $13 mil a year and that isn't happening.I don't think the home town discount will be enough either for what the Packers need to do in the next two years with other players.
I understand Jennings thinkng and cannot blame him for leaving and I don't think the Packers will use the F-tag on him and prevent him from possibly obtaining that high contract elsewhere.
This team lives by the draft and develope and have done well especially in the WR position and it's the confidence in such that Jennings will be elsewhere next year and wish him the best of luck.
Teams that succeed consistantly are those teams that no when to say goodbye and aren't afraid to say goodbye
The Packers have shown a clear ability of both with the last couple of years with players.
“I just feel like I've got a lot of football to play,"....Forgot to add the word 'good' in there Micky.
"I feel like I've got a lot left in my tank."...You're trying to burn jet fuel in a Volkswagon...ain't happening.
I know he said he never use to try and figure out defenses on tape...Mick,before you talk about how much you have to offer still...look at your tape..Good God man,if you kept playing you'd be giving Sanchez a run for the most turnovers by a QB...that should say it all to you.
I agree the Jets are bad at evaluating talent.Tebow wasn't brought in for his talent as was clearly shown all season by his lack of use,he was brought in as a gamble/shock treatment for Sanchez and it failed.Other than the cult followers of Tebow, every one in the world knew he can't play QB as a QB needs to play and that starts with the basic fact of throwing the ball.So Tebow doesn't turn the ball over as a runner and doesn't as a passer because he isn't and shouldn't be allowed to attempt to and wasn't for the most part.
Sanchez being the best chance to win tells me all I need to know about the entire team and that Rex Ryan couldn't accept he was wrong and destroyed the team in the process.
The Boncos had to eat money for the Jets to take him and Jac wanted him for ticket sales. No other team wanted Tebow,,,he was a media shock to get Sanchez to want to learn and play to a level that was thought to be there and never was and failed.
I said last year,Sanchez is just another over hyped QB from the great institute of QB phenoms..USC.He had a great team on both sides of the ball his first two years with those AFCCG visits, but when you need the QB to help carry the team, this guy is the first one with his suitcase getting packed.Does anyone really believe still that Tebow was brought in for the WildCat...he was brought in to help make Sanchez look good and even that failed. This also shows and proves just how bad Tebow is that he never threatened to take the position away. The best QB on the team is the guy(McElroy) who got ridiculed for saying the Jets locker room is dysfuntional and yet played the best and was then deactivated.Yikes!!!
I wonder if the 4th phase of the testing has to do with deciphering defensive scheme looks in Vicks case,as that should put to rest an arguement that always lingered about him.
The Jets have nothing to lose with playing McElroy and it may make easier to open the door for Sanchez and Tebow to exit.Yes,for both Sanchez and Ryans' benefit.. is not be there to instigate using him ever again. Both need to move on from the failure and apart is the best avenue.
As for Tebow,he needs to accept that as a QB he is a cancer no matter where he goes and should look at a new position to help who ever dares a chance on him.
If Reid wasn't so willingly blind to Vicks' play,he may have seen what was possibly a season saver in Foles.I'm not saying Foles would have ensured a playoff spot but, with the progress the kid has shown already would dictate they'd be a lot closer if he got the job earlier.
Bengals fans are getting smart..why spend money to see the loser Palmer play when all you need to do is watch reruns of his Cincy years and learn that he really wasn't ever good....nor were any of the other over-rated USC QBs before and after.
