You are all idiots. Do some real research on the capabilities of the V-22 and how they're employed and maybe you'd have a different opinion. All military aircraft come with inherent risk, and yes some with a little more than others. But if you then look at the significant benifit (almost twice as far, twice as fast) it all makes sense. As for Tom Ricks, not getting into an aircraft that has one of the cleanest safety center records in history, is just plain ignorant. A pentagon official 10 years ago has zero weight on events occuring today. Sand and dust and dirt have been around hydraulic lines for decades and hasn't caused many issues. 5000 PSI cutting off limbs...so could other 3000 PSI systems which are everywhere in aviation. Does titanium hydraulic lines change your mind? Maybe you should stick to foriegn policy instead of aircraft development.
