Dan - no point in blogging if you cant be real - so keep it real , if people have an issue with it then its their problem .No one is holding them here against their will . Disagreeing in your space in acceptable , being rude is not . Sadly a lot of people dont seems to know the difference .

@Rob W Hard to give a proper reply when im not sure what post you are answering but yes persecutions of Christians goes on in many countries and not like we often in the western countries complain about - real persecution , real torture , real death - we really have nothing to complain about - I am a supporter of OPENDOORS , youth site is UNDERGROUND and I can recommend them if you really are wanting to find out just what goes on . I get regular updates , prayer needs etc , people who convert are the subject to horrific attacks and it appears very similar to what is happening to homosexuals in these countries
Persecution is persecution no matter who is the victim, pepole have the right to be , to think , to believe .
@ThomasRoss @riggly @Ono Jesus does heal , but not always and I have no idea why sometimes he does and other times doesn't . I have suffered from severe depression a number of times throughout my life . One of the most unhelpful things that was ever said to me was - oh i had that I just prayed and had enough faith and it was gone - In other words i didn't have enough faith , hadnt prayed in the right way and by taking meds it was proof I lacked faith .
I guess similar to those who believe you can pray a gay better and its lack of faith when it fails- lol sounds like a advert
To suggest someone with cancer doesnt need treatment is practically murder.
@Ono @riggly Compared to world wide where people are attacked , abused and killed for being a practicing Christian or converting I dont believe any of us our in a position to complain. Yes people do say things , at times employers make it difficulty , recently a British airways staff member was sent home for wearing a cross , a hospital worker got in trouble for saying God bless or will pray for you to a patient . Things are said and done that would never be allowed or tolerated towards other faiths - On one had the PCC brigade have gone too far and we have lost our ability to take things in good humor and then on the other hand , we have a huge part of our perspective communities who are still in the dark ages with regards to human rights and that is a far bigger wrong in my eyes . Ok when people diss God and are rude about Jesus it does annoy me but he has big shoulders and can take it .
@sing4gd @EdCrown @Ono @Rob W @ThomasRoss Sing4gd Im not a theologian and i cant quote the Bible and scripture at people the way a lot do . And i think thats ok as long as i do my best to follow Jesus's teaching and display the love he had for us all- I do my best , still fall short but i know i wont get my wings till he comes again .
See I dont know about you its like you sorta have the idea but are just not quite right about things - I sort of seeing you thrashing yourself and wearing sack clothes

I have the same free will as I had before I became a Christian , i could have been considered a "good" person which wont get me to heaven but i used the free will God gave me everyday to do good things to chose between doing the right thing and the wrong thing . The things I did wrong I still do wrong but it goes back to the original sin . God is a jealous God , he wants us to love him , to follow him because we want to , its why he gave us free will . So we would make the right choices and know why we where making them , a bit like me , i made a lot of right choices before ( because thats the sort of person i am ). Now i know why its the right thing to do - i know Im probably messing this up but

See i dont like this picking bits of scripture out of thin air and using it to win an argument , i should really look this up in context but im tired and tbh , i enjoy following this blog but i dont have time to look up every piece of scripture that is waved in the air but you use it wrongly because clearly we have not all turned from God
when my kids where little and they where mean to each other i used to explain to them about saying sorry and true every-time i told them they needed to say it and why - they would say sorry - sometimes a pause before the But....... and i would ask how do you spell sorry and they would go S..O..R..R..Y - And i would say wheres the B - what B they would ask . exactly no B(UT) in sorry
God loves everyone , Jesus loves sinners( and came to save all that accept him ) No small print , no exclusions, no hidden terms and conditions
@sing4gd @Rob W @ThomasRoss But you still miss the point and compare homosexuality to silly things like your children fighting , or adultery , both things are decisons that we make to do or not . Being gay is no more a choice for them than me being straight , it is what we are .
Your friend the one you used to sing with , you dont agree with his sexuality and you say you still love him , every-time you see him do you feel the need to rub in his face his "sin" or do you just keep that for gay people you dont know ?

@sing4gd @EdCrown Im saved because I accept Jesus paid the price of my sin - end of it really is as simple as that and i dont understand why people complicate it further .
I just try and display the love he has for us all to everyone else no exceptions and its best by doing not preaching constantly
@Ono @FrankPhilip I think it is important to discuss it , been hidden away too long , even if its me as a straight Christian mother of 3 saying - its ok , its ok to be who God made you . or to point out that no way would Jesus get on the way those who protest and spread hate with their posters do .
Though i do think you need to be careful about getting embroiled in their bitter arguments , just as Christians in general need to be careful about getting involved in bitter arguments with atheists.
@Kievjoy Im losing count how many kids you have Kievjoy but sounds like you have your hands full . I would say MASHA is testing you , her birth mother abused her and she is trying to prove if you love her or not or will you give her back . persevere she will learn to trust that she is loved and safe and going no where .
And can see this from 2 sides , her's and yours Dan. Gosh what does it say about her ? She doesn't love herself , that she doesn't think anyone will love her as she really is . It also suggests that she has been let down and badly hurt in the past , judged for what she looks like and not who she is . Maybe on line she can forget about that and pretend but then comes the meet , oops now she can put a few old photos up as she was before weight gain in the hope that by the time shes meets the guy he will already love her for how she comes across on line but highly unlikely . I guess years of being overlooked , last to be picked for teams and i guess blaming things on if only I was a bit thinner has played its part into her thinking it was ok - after all its not really a lie , its still me , just when i was a younger , slimmer me - what harm can it do .
More than likely though when a guy first clicked on her profile he would see her and think - nope not for me , we are a superficial race and with all the will in the world Dan more than likely you and most others will move on to the next profile . After all at this point there nothing has been invested in the relationship , while start something when you can go for someone , younger , prettier , thinner . Maybe a little unfair as I dont know you but mostly its how the world works.
On the scheme on things not a big lie but a really important one , you are after all on a dating website with the hope of meeting" the one". How can you start a relationship with someone who is less than honest, you dont expect someone to tell you all on a first date but you do expect someone to be who they say they are and Im not sure a trustworthy relationship could be started on such a shaky foundation
@EdCrown @Rob W Im pretty sure that scholars of which i am definately not one have got the whole sodom and Gormorrah wrong , yes if was a corrupt city in many ways but we all know in Biblical times language was limited . At the time of Jesus's conception it was made very clear that Mary his mother had not "known" Joseph till after the birth . I think we all accept this correctly to mean in a sexual way . But we do not take it to mean that everytime it is mentioned, clearly at times to know someone means just that to know them , to meet they to be known by them , nothing to do with sex . I remember reading once that the term is mention over 900 times but only a small precentage means carnal knowlege - Im sure the clever people will have an idea of the exact details
But whether its right or wrong all things can be measured against the teachings of Jesus and if they fail to match up to him then they are wrong . Simply WWJD

Men could not have observed the earth suspended and there are so many other scientific things that are in the Bible that much later where proved to be correct . We have to be very careful that we dont take every word of the Bible literally , context and the time it was written has to be considered but it would also be a mistake to take it more than a historically record of what happened because it is so much more than that

I know people who say it was left out because it had nothing of value in it but who are they to say what has value and what doesn't . I think it helps supports a women's place , something many like to discount and of course the missing text.....

The conspirator in me also wonders why its not complete at a point that she was for telling something important about Jesus. Buts its clear she Knew Jesus well ( I like the feel of these passages ) how well we will never know but again something the RC would be set against
@Rob W @Kievjoy @ThomasRoss @sing4gd I actually think the accident analogy is quite a good way of describing it . The four gospel's where written by ordinary people , it was inspired by God so that the important details are right but they have been colored by the men who wrote them , I cant help wonder what would they have been like if one had been written by a women , maybe they would have contained more emotional content .
we need to almost stop looking at the Bible and contents from a 2012 point of view , instead get into the mind set of the time it was written and then apply it to our daily lives . Not easy
I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God . Jesus described the Scriptures as the very “word that comes from the mouth of God ” (Matthew 4:4)
But you have to take in in context of the time it was written, lauguage was limited and very often the same word was used to describe many thing s , there was no word for sphere for instance. So often we take a bit of scripture and totally miss the message because we are forgetting that . The Bible is fine , the problem is the way we look at it and very often twist it to suit ourselves . Look at the way it was used as a weapon against women and people of different race , in much the same way it if being used now against the Gay community ,
