Amen Margie!!!
For me knowing my history has been part of my life's journey in understanding of health, disease, outlook on life and even politics. I learned most from my mother and father's knowledge of family history and some on my own with web search and travels. At least what I have learned is that most of this stuff has gone on within my bloodlines and ancestral psyche for better or worse for over 1000 years..... back to Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Nice Post Margie! All good stuff and yes those unfollow a-holes are annoying! All the Best to my Ohio friend in 2013!
Looks like an exciting year ahead Margie. All the best in 2013 to you and yours!
Congrats and Best to All Margie!!!
Will miss you here Margie...... I will have to stalk elsewhere right?
Johnny Carson's mother was not a well person. The power of positive reinforcement with a child can not be over stated. Great stuff Margie!
My challenge is to accept that I cannot do what I did in younger years.....hope your foot gets better soon Margie.
OK I am guilty but I have to admit I enjoy seeing where my kids are eating in the city. I will make an effort to take fewer pics of my dogs as the kids always complain at how many more pics I have of 4 legged creatures than humanoids! Great Post M!
And these two great friends, founders of the republic died on July 4th the very same day! Margie I think friendship can go unspoken for the most part. The good ones show up without being asked. The ones that show up know our appreciation and hopefully we never take such a precious thing for granted?
OK so I can't use the heat for an excuse at my age?
Amen!!!
Pan Fried Chicken and Mashed Taters were my Grandmother. My mother's chile nor sausage gravy has ever been matched. My Dad loved to cook breakfast and of course knew his way around a BBQ! I have dropped my weight recently but am thinking about the Boston Cream Pie I had from my sweet loving mother who died thousands of act of love before her time. Maybe I will reconnect in some way with a good healthy chunk of pie and screw the diet!!!
Margie, is "Flicked off" what girls did? Or is that an Buckeye colloquialism? The boys where I am from always referred to this as "Flipping off"? Flicking was what we did with a green booger! (I love using that word now that I see Bill D has made it cool) At any rate your post brought back a few bus memories of a couple of the great people who drove us and knew me by name. There also was the group think bullying that went on too frequently in my hood. I like you was small and became the target at times. I think it taught me empathy although sometimes I wish I stood up more for the bullied! Trying to now!
This reminded me of the late Dan Quisenberry the great KC Royals reliever and even better human being. He was dying of brain cancer and someone asked him if he ever thought to himself ‘Why me?’ And his response was ‘Why not me? I’ve got just as good a chance to get through this as anyone else.....
Quiz wasn't bitter, never complained and must of not felt alone!
Great post Margie!
I recently cut deserts from my diet as a means to shed a few. Right now I would kill for some sugar! It's funny how I only miss it when I see it or when I hear about it herein......
For me it is being present now.....breathe and breathe again and be in the moment as musch as possible in this crazy world! Good stuff Margie......thx
About time you got some direction with your life! Geez! (just kidding) I will be waiting by my digital device at 6 a.m. Chicago time - no pressure LaBron...I mean Margie!
BTW do we need to re-subscribe?
Amen! Not sure how easy the steps are as they take courage but you are right on Margie!
