@a57se He'll probably talk so much smack that the internet will run out of room to keep it all...and he could very well back it up too...I have zero confidence in the Cowboys for this season.
Rob DID get a job in 5 mins, with the Rams...He just only KEPT it for 5 mins too...
@wiguyinmn @Mikaela Here's the think though...Yes, he asked the Jets to release his rights, but they didn't HAVE to. Favre could retire all he wanted to, but as soon as he unretired he'd be a Jet again unless they released him, which the Jets did for whatever reason. Same thing would happen to Barry Sanders if he were to miraculously come out of retirement now, his rights would still belong to the Lions.
So you should hate the Jets too for contributing to Favre's plans, because they had all the leverage.
@wiguyinmn @Mikaela I don't see how him retiring and then coming back manipulated the NFL system. He retired as a Packer and then when he changed his mind, he was still a Packer. GB had to trade him to the Jets for him to change teams.
Also, I thought Greg took less money to sign with the Vikings? GB offered him 1 or 2 million more than he got with Minnesota.
So I'm seeing a lot of hate against Favre because he went to play for Minnesota. So does that mean all you Packer fans hate Greg Jennings now too?
They definitely need to do something to lengthen the football season. It's way to short. Forget cowbell, I need more FOOTBALL!!!
@jack sprat @Mikaela Actually, the "stomp" was against a defenseless Andre Gurode who was laying on the ground without his helmet and Suh scraped his cleats against his face, catching his eye. There was no "merely grazing" about that.
And both incidents WERE outside of the whistles. The play had already been whistled dead in both cases.
@Bill_Bates_40 @markbulg Brees was not only damaged goods, but wasn't a franchise QB at that point either. He was a young, developing QB. As I always say, QBs need time to develop and giving up on them too early can be a fatal mistake. It can be the difference between Brees and Rivers.
I think what Greene is missing is that people are criticizing Suh for stuff he does AFTER the play. And any criticism he gets for his play is because he hasn't matched his promising rookie campaign yet.
Please make it where they can have training camp on a permanent basis. I hate this having camp in Cali. That's a little far for me to play hookie from work...
Man, the only thing Green's gonna be carrying this season is water to the starters...I like the kid, but let's be realistic.
Is Te'o the new Tebow? We're gonna hear everything that goes on with him now???
I think Franklin could end up being the better back, a la Ridley/Vereen.
I guarantee you Cruz will play at least part of this season with the Giants. If only to at get at least as many games in as needed to get this year counted as an accrued year towards his vesting so he can enter UFA next year.
So let me get this straight, Deion dumped Dez Bryant and stopped mentoring/advising him because of his character, yet he's going to sell Mathieu to team execs and vouch for his character???
@Bill_Bates_40 I like Franklin a lot. I think it could be another case like NE where the RB taken later (Ridley) ends up being the better player.
@ArnoldNewman Those trades weren't draft day trades. I believe they traded up for Dez Bryant, and it looks like the patience on waiting for him to get it together might have paid off there. They also traded up last year for Claiborne and the jury is still out there.
So the league fined the Cowboys and Redskins for "overspending" in an uncapped year, which the NFLPA signed off on. And now the NFLPA is complaining that no one is spending money during a capped year???
Agreed. He was awesome.
