Actually not so surprised; in fact, I thought on Day Zero that Apple ONLY made the iPad++ with a mobile radio. When I first bought my iPad2 VZW I was somewhat reticent about the 3G, data plan ... mostly I got with radio for aGPS. A scant week after the iPad2 replaced my WiFi only iPad, I realized there was no going back to a WiFi only model: the promise of "pervasive computing and access" was there for 30--50 Vzw$ a month :) Every review/test on the Performance and display tells me I am likely to be throwing the first LTE-Luau of the spring to celebrate.
