@ThroatShot With the same coach and GM out there, and a few older useless guys taking up roster spots and/or up for a contract, what makes you think that ANYTHING will change next year? Babcock shall be in a Hall of Fame this year for his phenomenal stubbornness and KH - for overall delusions. I watched his interview after loss to Vancouver - he did say that next year 'we got Sammy coming back'. I thought I am hallucinating.. but I was not, he did say that.
@ThroatShot there is not much sense in KH wish of 'just making playoffs'. They'll play 4, maybe 5 more games and be done. No energy, no thinking, very robot-like plays. And I'm not talking robots made in Japan. These are made in China.
This roster is brutal to watch. Even when we get a lead I wait for them to find a way to lose. Doesn't matter if we have back-to-back games or 3 days off in between - they consistently fail to perform at a competitive level in the first period and habitually make stupid stupid mistakes that cost them games. So tired of hearing the same comments over and over from Babcock and the players. They should just apologize to the fans for their pathetic play and end the interview.
I'm just going to paste some comments from MLive, which, I think, sum it up:
Babcock has to go for being too stubborn. Look at what he says about Abby – the most improved player and a great compliment for Datsyuk. Well then why does Abby have 2 assists in 43 games? TWO! I don’t care if Pav likes playing with him because it doesn’t work. Pav himself has just 6 even-strength goals this year. On pace for his lowest total ever. So this duo is a total failure. Plain and simple. How many close games have we lost this year when one extra goal from that line would be the difference?
Same with Cleary. He has 5 assists all season. Tatar and Nyquist have played 25 less games, and in those games about 5 minutes less per game, and they both have 3 assists. And aren't -8 either. Last night was embarrassing to watch Dan Cleary play hockey.
And yet Babcock is so patient with these two non-producers. I dunno. If you put Pav with Nyquist and Andersson for 43 games I think they would easily produce more than the awful combinations Babcock has used. Between that and the nonsense decision to dump Tatar and the nonsense decision to keep scratching Tootoo when the team lacks energy. I dunno. I think you have to fire him. Offer him a chance to quit with dignity. And then try someone else.
@Jay Argentina well.. Dats was hit knee on knee before that.. we don't know the impact of that yet.
Last year's "Babcock is fired" was more convincing...

Tatar and Andersson getting benched in the 3rd? I don't know what our coach is smoking, but I want some. His stubbornness is unbelievable. And, he makes sure that Pavel will not resign with the Wings by providing No's 8 and 11 for him to babysit. It's ironic, that former Professor's number is on Abby's back. Wooden hands and no brain usage...

@brandik1313 @Jordan_Reis Kronwall is not #1 or 2 D material. He does not think well or quick enough. His first pass is awful most of the time.

Salary cut and salary rollback is not the same. If they make players to rollback salaries, say, 20%, the salary cap will be reduced the same 20%, and no one will be 'cutting' $$ from payroll.

Even if NASH matches (and that's a big if), Weber will collect his two signing bonuses ($26 mln) and requests/demands to be traded in a year. I don't him staying in Nash for 14 years with no cup and damaged relationship w/management.
