He's definately an upgrade (so far this season) from what we've had at 3rd the past few years.  Then again, maybe Eva Longoria would be an upgrade from what we've had at third the past few years.  Thus far, I'm impressed with Seager and his approach.  As long as he keeps hitting, just find somewhere to run the guy out each day.

by "real deal" I mean simply he doesn't seem to be intimidated by the bigs and is handling his opportunity the way we wish Saunders and Smoak were handliong theirs.....................act like they are supposed to be there.

is it too early to proclaim Seager as the "real deal"?

Montero can and should get better defensively with more time behind the dish.  And if he doesn't, the way Wedge is going, he may get benched!!   Of course, if Montero tears it up at the plate, you can forgive some bad defense.

It's sad really.  Makes one wonder what happend.  A guy in his prime with Anahiem comes to Seattle and just tanks.  It's not like he's 40 years old, he should still have skills.  What a frustrating game.  In any case, we'll now an even better look at the youngsters.

I agree that there is no feeling in sports like the first week of baseball.  Even after last night's reminder that we have still have some work to do..................following spring training, hope springs eternal for every team in baseball and for every fan supporting their favorite team.  Go M's!!
