@kris kini 2008 AO semifinal*
@DJOKERMANIA @insightful1 Really? Djokovic was the closest player ever to win all 4 in a row? What about Federer in 2006 and 2007(winning W'05, US'05, AO'06 or W'06, US'06, AO'07) where he lost in the FO final(both years) in 4 sets...short-term memory? Murray may not have been at his best but Federer certainly wasn't either- I don't think Djokovic wants to see Federer in full flight tomorrow as he would get steamrolled...That being said, Federer has not been playing very well, so I see Djokovic winning in 2 tight sets. Time will tell.
@Stefano Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he do just that en route to his 7th Wimbledon title earlier this year...
This is a joke considering the 4 other top 5 upsets occured in the first round over top seeds... This was the 6 seed beating a 1 seed in the FINAL in 5 sets...
@Jeff He must earn respect by winning a Slam...
@Jim Nadal already had one round of PRP treatments done this year(after which he came out on a tare during the clay court season). Does he have to wait x # of months before getting another treatment?
He did seem pretty comfortable in the spotlight on center court dominating Nadal. I would hardly consider his movement distracting unless of course you're rattled(which Rafa was) and searching for an excuse...I would have neededt o do the same thing to keep from getting tight between Rafa's serves. Perhaps if he served at a normal pace(by normal I mean legal of course) than Rosol wouldn't have to move around so much...just sayin'
@lovetennis @FedsBiggestFan Federer is from Basel which is a city that borders both France and Germany, hence his ability to speak both fluently...
@CM @Rogerrulestheworld How is it sad that a thirty year old isn't getting past people in their prime?
@Yolita Last years final was competitive...at least for the first three sets.
@Ajithkumar He played better clay court opponents, yes, but did not have to face anyone that can trouble his game(granted not many can on clay). I wouldn't say his draw was easier but it certainly put up little resistance. Ferrer will be his toughest test and he owns him on clay.
Not sure how Federer is a fraud...
Nadal's serve is huge...? Timely maybe but huge?...no
@nike @nicky @JayFedex The whole reason he beats Federer is because of the lefty forehand topspin crosscourt to Federer's single handed backhand. If you haven't figured that out by now you don't watch tennis.
Nadal is truly an exceptional tennis player and I don't think he will have any physical set backs as long as he is allowed to get PRP injections as often as he wants(perfectly legal) as they seem to have an incredible effect on his movement/confidence. Even if Raonic makes it that far(4th round would tie the farthest he's gotten) I'm not sure how much he will have left, given the surface. It would still be an interesting match.
There's a reason why he was asked the question in the first place...because he has been in this position before. Would you rather him talk about a topic he knows nothing of or something that he knows to be incredibly difficult first hand. They will be asking Nadal the same question soon enough... Please try to mask your Federer hate a little bit better next time.
How?! Unless Djokovic loses pretty early Nadal is the one who has to defend a lot of points being the defending champion(just had my wisdom teeth removed an hour ago so hopefully my sentence was coherent).
I believe he is commenting very objectively on how difficult it will be to win all four events in the coming months. The most negative thing he said was that the best 2 out of three set format will be "very dangerous". Wow Roger....cool down a bit. Sounds like whining to me! lol
I must not have seen the tournament officials lay extra sand on the court in such a way that only Novak and Nadal were affected...<They didn't? Oh, so they're making excuses? So a Djokovic fan is citing bs for the reason he lost? Couldn't be...> When "lesser" players adapt better than prospective GOATs(fan proclaimed of course) it tends not to reflect well on them.
You mean to say his he needs to justify his win at Madrid where both Nadal and Novak lost?! You are saying he should play the pair that LOST to inferior competition?.....Federer should also play the fans from the stands because they didn't have the opportunity to play him either.....dumb comment.
