Totally agreed. But Serena has her lapses... Let's wait until FO.
Imagine Murray holding 2 GS and the OGM and Djok being at no. 1 with a few runner ups and masters titles. Strange scenario.
Murray shows that he has more finesse and more talent. Djok is really a boring player and his style is: start a match playing worse than every other top ten player and then find a way to win the match in ugly fashion.
@meeto_1 I absolutely agree. Tsonga also comes to my mind when I think about a nice celebration style: It's full with positive energy and smiles!
That is our ambassador of tennis.
@Damjan Vukannn: slamless in terms of having not won a slam in a year
Damjan: You can't compare tennis to these sports. How about boxing? Or is tennis more similar to golf with a bit of class and respect?
Anyway, the Barbarian lovers will always find a way to explain why such low behaviour is nice or whatever.
One thing is for sure, and absolutely obvious:
Nole has never been, an will never be, a role model for the sport.
Fair play should win, and not monkey behavior.
Maybe his luck continues or else he will be the first slamless No. 1 in a long time.
@another some guy NIKE was suspicious...
@another some guy The draw ceremony should be made way more transparent. There were several studies investigating likelihood of Fed and Nole in half and Nadal and Muzz in the other half of a GS for 10 or so consecutive GSs, except FO. Likelihood equals 1 to 10 million.
@another some guy Ok it isnt as easy, maybe I put it wrong. Please list Federer's semi opponents (GS + Masters!) and compare it with the other drawn semifinal opponent (ranked 3 or 4) and the surface:
In the last years, Fed or muzz always have to beat two Top3 players to win the title while Nole just needs to beat Ferrer or someone else because Ferrer did not make it into the semis and only ONE of the Top 3 (who might be tired from their SF clash). And since it is continuously the case, that is LUCK FOR NOLE!
@megalon That's how I do it as well ;) Can't stand this behavior.
I simply don't watch him. But if I like his opponent I sometimes have to, which is a real torture!
@MNTennisFan @vukann Well this means fed or muzz would have to beat two Top3 players to win the title while Nole just needs to beat Ferrer or someone else because Ferrer did not make it into the semis and one of the Top 3 (who might be tired from their SF clash). And since it is continuously the case, that is LUCK FOR NOLE!
@MNTennisFan @vukann I did not say anything about his 2011 run... This was an incredible achievement. However, since his 2011 FO loss, he is consistently in the easiest quarter. Why? Why was it 100% certain in advance, that fed und muzz will be drawn in the same half in the last big tournaments? Because organizers seem to want a joke-muzz or joke-fed final.
1st: Federer would have needed less than four hours for these five sets. For instance against Benneteau this year, he needed 215 min. or so (ok its grass). And he won decisive!
2nd: Nole has easy draws in almost every big tournament, wins so often because of the failure of his opponent. Not because he makes winners. In crucial moments he just wears his opponent down, grunts like an ...., and celebrates like an...., supposed to distract his opponent.
Joke, the luckiest No. 1 ever! Tomas will whip him in straights and that's what he deserves: being slamless!
Stan played absolutely great. Many winners, brilliant serving, good nerves. His best match I've ever seen him play. He deserves a big title.
Some good fighting in the tiebreak. Great net play overall. Federer beating all the young hopes: 4-0 vs Tomic, 3-0 vs Raonic, 2-0 vs Harrison, 2-0 vs Bellucci, 1-0 vs Dolgopolov (0-0 vs Dimitrov).
Second serve and BP conversion needs to be improved for the next rounds. Raonic next up, a far more dangerous player than this Tomic. Four more to go!!!
