@Howie Goldfarb You crack me up Howie with your quick wit and response. I obviously have difficulty typing never mind walking. I hope Gini doesn't read my statement with the double 'about' or she may just push me down the stairs for not proofing before hitting send ;)

@belllindsay Sure a lot of steps but taking them one by one gets you to the top in success rather than tripping up when you try to skip over them. We have learned in recent days about  about falling on the steps when moving to fast ;)

One of the most warm and genuine people I have met through you!  Always so supportive and giving with her comments online. The talent of her children befits the cliche of 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree'.

I am with many of the commenters but would raise #5 (hire and expert) to #1 so that the rest of the steps would unfold in a strategic and methodical manner.  That is, of course, assuming they have followed your posts on how to hire the correct PR firm/individual ;)

Bienvenue Gini, glad to have you back with all your baguettes and buns in tow but I can't say anymore today as you have my panties all in a knot over your statement about pantyhose being back in high fashion. I thought those had been forever relegated as a helper to my washing machine.

Superb post @margieclayman , your heart is always on your sleeve and you wear it beautifully. All the commentary that follows your post is all the quantification necessary to understand the essence of social media etiquette and respect. In any time of crisis or tragedy it is fine to feel with emotion but lead and act with your head.

@Fat_Head_Carl Great response Carl. Lend a hand before you slap it, you may find that hand reaching out in a welcome grasp someday.

Good to see you are still with us this Monday morning Ken. I have also been using TalkWalker since  recommendation but haven't had much success. I keep getting crazy references which surprises me with my name (Anneliz- can't be too many of those). Do you recommend setting up alerts with both twitter handle name (blended) and proper name (separated)?  Thanks, great article with tremendous list of resources for personal branding as well as business reputation monitoring.

Since you shared your age Ken, we just need to tell Neil Sedaka that in these cases breaking up is just not that hard to do ;)

This is very timely Ray as a friend of mine who owns a restaurant is having difficulty raising interest on their social sites. I will be passing along as they are having difficulty understanding the difference between simply marketing their services and reaching out to their customers in conversation.

@ginidietrich Anyone who actually reads or follows your posts and writings would be able to deduce that without much gray matter effort. I thus question the authenticity of those that ask you as being true fans or followers ;)

I find your Follow Friday's one of the best features of Spin Sucks. I gave up on the torrent of noise on #FF on Twitter a long time ago but always enjoy reading about your selection for the week. It offers me the value of human quality rather than simply a handle. And for me it works as I frequently follow but for those to ask for a recommendation would only burst my bubble of richness and sincerity.

@ginidietrich I don't watch that show but agree that is an adult way of handling the issue. Point given with respect, no judgement passed and passive warning given.

I have no issues with the use of the internet in the workplace, save the one topic of pornography. Respecting the workforce as adults is endearing to productivity.

It is often that these individuals, with no relation to the communications or marketing departments, that offer information on world events, stakeholders, or simply social media happenings in real time that make the difference in averting a crisis. I am thankful to have the extra eyes and ears of the workforce working with me. It is an assurance I value with high regard.

All great ideas to show what Arment Dietrich is about and (not about). I  agree with @lauraclick on the case studies, the who, what , when, where and what you do best , how.  This is by far your best asset as Spin Sucks displays daily.

I am a fan of seeing the bios and pics of the team. As you say, if they follow the blog, they will know but if you are working from the 101 principal on the website it is the introduction while the blog is the personality.  It is the first thing I look for when landing on a website.  I like to know who is behind the corporate name.

I can't wait to take a dip in the new site.
