@lkim65 @digitalpunkdiva Simply put for you she did not develop a large enough fanbase with an emotional connection to pull her up over less talented performers. Who she is musically determines marketability, direction and opportunity. She is always going to be able to work in the industry but to break out she has to have fans that will pay to see her.
Watching Amanda I thought she was technically proficient and probably the best singer but hard to connect with on an emotional level. I still don't know who she is musically except for being extremely talented. I'm not surprised she was in the bottom but I did think Nick and Melanie were going to go before she did. I think Nick's fans felt more of a heart connection to him and pulled him up into the final four. Surprised Terry has so many fans he's kinda boring.
He's got that warm soothing tone made for adult contemporary. Great snuggle bunny song.
Wow! Ok He's not going to win. But at least he got some attention. Solid!
Great voice. She needs a bit more personality. Somehow her stage presence doesn't match up with the talent in her voice.
She's probably the most marketable talent. I like her. I like her voice. But she has a limited range and a very shallow bottom register which undermines the big rock star sound she desperately wants to project. She needs some safe peppy little pop tunes that's don't make her sound like a watered down cranberry or sounds like indie artiste of the day.
Very weak cover. Marvin Gaye was an exceptional singer/songwriter and this tune is outside of Nick's ability. He needed to rework the song or not sing the song. I don't think its a good song choice for tv. Nick is talented but from the other side of the screen the set was boring. Something MG was definitely not.
Amanda has a good voice. I just don't know who she is as a singer. She's trying really hard but the song arrangement doesn't sell me. She might have the wrong coach.
Great performance. I think out of the pack this year and thus far she has the most versatility. If she can find a really strong production writing team she is totally ready for today's market.
He has way more charm and poise than vocal ability. He is still young and a lot of male singers really arrive in their 30's so he has some time to mature. Being cute will only get you so far. I see him more as an actor with singing ability.
Like her voice. Good strong clean, nuanced. Don't know if she's star. Definitely a very good singer.

I think this gig is his "therapy". Will, should have just hooked up with him on an EP. He is talented but I would rather some of the unknowns got a shot.
Battle round is an odd concept. Its kinda like a chorus line screening only for vocalists and it doesn't work very because of all the different styles and genre's. However you still need a way to whittle down the pool from 40 plus singers. Instead of a duet I say let em all sing a song and get scored individually and drop the weakest 5 from the team at the get go.
Maybe its the water in the UK. The strangeness isn't her singing its the audience responding to her singing that's scary. I'm afraid she's headed to the looney bin if they drop her cause the reaction is totally disproportionate to her actual level of ability. Sad.
Dave's sophmore album is really mediocre. Every track is virtually identical and tending towards pop-cheese.He would be wise try and find a label that will allow him to work with a strong producer. I'd like to see him get his Indie edge back rather than support him selling treacle.
What! WTF! How did that happen? Did Carson read that right? oooh. Talk about underdog. Maybe its the shiny head. May extraterrestrials were watching and voted. Can we see how they arrived at that number.

@hrstump By develop I mean really coach them into another level of performance. Not interested in the life story so much as taking a raw talent or under performing talent show the process of development. Not the sob stories. Maybe save voting for the last two weeks when they are more polished.
Nicely done. None of them would have been my choice for the finals. Don't know if this format really does the talent justice since yeah, they find good voices then spend six weeks eliminating then instead of actually developing them. Oh well.
