I read in one of your recent posts you're leaving the states too. What do you think of Scandinavia/Northern Europe? I'm considering there after med school. Maybe Germany, Switzerland or The Netherlands (really only considering Amsterdam there)
On topic: Growing up in the Midwest its easy to turn my nose up at the South although I don't think the Midwest is much better. Certain characteristics tend to travel together in folks, so I'm not surprised that Mississippi is in the state that it is in.

Where do you draw the line between attraction and fetish? Do I have a fetish for white guys since that's what I'm typically attracted to? I'm not going to be able to totally dissect the black male psyche because a) not all black guys have the same reasons for being with white women and b) I'm not a guy.....
I think in my original response I mentioned that younger white women that I run into/know personally are more often in shape, also black men being men may like the features of European girls in the same way that I like the features of European guys. Are we not allowed to admit that White women are beautiful too? Are white woman not allowed to draw men with their unique style of beauty? Different hair colors, different eye colors, etc.
Why should black men be demonized for being attracted to what they are attracted to? IDK, I just take a different approach to black men than it seems some do on this site. I'd really feel hypocritical for demonizing black men for liking the features and company of White women. Even if they happen to do so in higher proportions than black women. What business or concern is it of mine who and what they like when I'm not aiming for a black guy myself. Now of course I don't agree with the unnecessary bashing of black women that definitely goes on, but the attraction to white women can't automatically be classified as a fetish without investigation the individual psyche of each black man that feels that way and even then we'd need to use our own idea of what constitutes a fetish in the first place.
I take slight issue with the generalization that black men simply have a fetish for white women because none of the accusers can show me the line between fetish and personal perference. I'm sure I would feel differently if I was only attracted to black men and I wanted to marry one, I'm sure then I'd probably feel hurt and left out by that preference, but since those aren't the guys I'm aiming for I really don't feel that way.
Also, I personally do think that black women on average tend to lack the things that are usually vital for a man's happiness in a relationship, like a polished physical appearance, polite mannerisms, etc.....I'm not talking about the women here on BBW, I'm talking about what you'd find on average in a black community. I'll be honest, if I was a guy, I probably wouldn't date most black women and sometimes if men keep seeing negative images on TV and in real life, they'll eventually just write off that type of woman. Unfortunately I've seen white people do this a lot. Let them see a minority group do a certain thing 3 times and they're convinced ALL of that certain minority does that ALL the time.
IDK I get from your post that you want me to demonize black men for liking white women and romanticize black women and pretend that ALL OF US are perfect matches for quality men. I don't think that's true.
Even if a successful educated black guy WANTED to marry a black woman, I could honestly see him struggling to find one that matched the quality standards of the white women around him on a daily basis. Largely this has to do with weight, personal grooming, in 2012, many BW are still figuring out their hair. Men are more physical, that's just the way it is. I'm not saying that colonial ideals of beauty don't play into the equation, they definitely do, I just think that other nationalities of women have worked harder to fight back against that standard than black women have, ex: Latinas, of all racial decent seem to take a higher level of pride in looking good and acting feminine, again, the ones that I meet. I see so many young black girls, even some middle class ones, that act and look like little boys--and the moms don't seem to care at all. Their hair is damaged, their mannerisms are unfeminine, usually overweight, sometimes strong body odor etc. I've got to be honest if I was a guy and I was asked objectively if I would date/marry a black woman I would say no.
Now, we've discussed many times on this site the reasons behind WHY black women are this way, so I'm not just blaming them, I'm saying that unfortunately in this present moment IT IS this way, and men are very objective creatures when they are looking for a woman (especially if they have options) and either the woman has it together or she doesn't and from my humble opinion of what a man may want, a lot of black women currently do not have it together--at least the ones that I've observed. Of course this can change, and with more positive examples like the ladies here, I'm confident that it will. Even white men who want to date black women--what are the odds they can find one who'll meet the basic quality standards that he can usually find with relative ease in white women? You've got to meet a man's basic standards to even motivate him to want to get to know you, most BW aren't making that first cut and its usually not for reasons they can't control if they wanted to.
And lastly, Elfe quoted me down the page but I'll say it again, the odds are not in the favor of two quality black people meeting. You can't expect two people to get married and have kids just because they ran into each other and are both black. Black people are humans too and there are several other complex factors that go into deciding whether a relationship will work out or not that have nothing to do with race.

@eugeniaberg @Elfe @MySmile Well lets have Chris shut down the website and stop selling her books and lets all raise funds to open therapy clinics for these distressed and abused BW who are not worthy of relationships...and while we're at it, lets divorce all overweight BW from their partners and enroll them in fat camps because obesity is a sign of past emotional abuse too, or the inability to handle emotional stress in daily life.
I do agree with you, partially, just playing devils advocate a bit. :)

Okay, you made good points but let me clear this up again. I always try to see things from both angles. YES men without fathers DO TEND to be damaged and NO I don't recommend that black women date them...its just saddening to think about the percentages of black women who didn't have two parents either and how that standard eliminates them too. That's really all my comment was meant to say.

I guess, its kind of insulting, I work really hard to ensure that I present myself a certain way, and when guys like that approach me in random public spaces I feel like all my hard work has gone to nothing....but hey, this evolution game is no joke, I guess they've got to be extra aggressive to beat the natural selection curve.

@eugeniaberg @MySmile I do agree with you, BW SHOULD aim for guys who have healthy relationships with both parents, I'm just saying that if the same standard is held to most BW, they won't make the cut.
On the other side of the coin, I definitely don't like "heavy metal" and "death metal" culture either. I literally turned down one of the most physically aesthetic creatures on the planet last semester. I mean he had muscles, tall, bright blue eyes, dirty blonde hair....he is a god AND he is also pre-med. BUUT he is reeeeeeeeeeeallly into metal, to the point that it effected his clothing style...and there were other red flags that I won't get into but yeah it was a no go....but dear lord....it almost hurts to think about how good looking he is....I digress...
two major musical turn offs: ratchet rap/hip hop and death metal/ heavy metal. I personally hate all things country BUT it wouldn't be a deal breaker, it would just mean we won't be listening to music together LOL.

Vet their character not their background, especially situations they didn't bring upon themselves. AND if you're looking at white/non black guys its more likely that he had a father around anyways.

lol these tragic white chocolates need to have several seats. This is a public service announcement to ALL interested white men, quality black women/girls like their white boys TO BE WHITE. I don't want some albino Lil' Wayne impersonator trying to "holler" and looking at me all confused because I don't fit in to his stereotypical ideas of what a BW should be. Die white chocolates! Die! Its just such an awkward encounter when white chocolates want to approach and then realize I'm probably "too white" and he's probably "too black" LOL. Awkwardness abounds.
Did you know that white chocolate is actually the most useless byproduct of cocoa production, all of the fat and sugar and none of the actual chocolate. Gross. Empty. Calories. But hey, lots of low self esteem black girls out there who will give this guy a pass. "Yeah he white but he soo hood tho!" "Yeah he white but he go hard!"
What I have noticed, is that most of these tragic white chocolates have actually mimicked black guys to the tee, meaning, they usually degrade and DON'T choose black women as sexual partners (unless for baby mama purposes). The White Chocolates of the 90s DID chose black women do improve their street cred. The current white chocolates do the opposite. They follow in line with black guys with the whole white is right outlook. Unfortunately because of my features and complexion I still fall into their preference category....yuck.When I'm home from uni I literally have to avoid certain shopping centers to evade this tragic white chocolate epidemic plaguing Midwest America....and the even more tragic dark chocolate epidemic.
Any light skinned girls reading? Do you girls feel that extra thirst vibe when the dark skinned guys hunt you down? I just get this feeling like they think "scoring" a light skinned girl will improve their lives or something. I don't want a man who needs me to improve his status, that's just weird and awkward. And I don't like being elevated on unnatural pedestals, it makes me feel like a side show freak.
Anyways, just one glance at this Machine Gun Crackhead guy and I wouldn't have given two poops about anything coming out of his mouth. I definitely don't like the "hip hop" culture so I definitely wouldn't pay any mind to a guy heavily influenced by it.

@ForestElfQueen I don't think links to sites like that should be posted. I've never visited but from what I hear, its not a place that mentally healthy people congregate. Posting links is, in a way, advertising for that site and increasing the odds that a young girls stumble upon such filth.
