@ecdawg See you around then EC. It was nice while it lasted, but if fans can't discuss what they think is important, and all it is , is a recruiting blog, I don't have a lot to contribute anyway.

@GirdersRBending I wish that were all that was wrong with the situation  Saturday night and it somehow had a great affect on the game but truth be known, we would not have beaten them on our field. We simply got out coached once again, I am afraid. We have the athletes, but our coaches put them in some terrible positions Sat. night. S.C. knew most of the plays UGA was going to call, and after the first half, most of the fans did as well. I would love to say that we played flat, but it is a lot more than that. We have the athletes but they were not prepared to win the game.  I don't know if we are going to be able to win, when the play call selection is done like it was Saturday night. I also am at a loss as well, as to how we can have so many good athletes on the defense and have a complete break down in protection as well.

Maybe we were way over rated as a team at number 5, but somehow, I still see this team as a good one, that is coached poorly right now.  If we can't get up for big games any better than what we showed, I don't see us being a top 10 team, but like I said the athletes are there, but I think the coaching isn't. I am left to wonder, what another offensive coach would have done with the talent we can field. I also noticed that Coach Grantham seems mild mannered compared to last year.  Was he ordered by the HC and athletic director to tone down his emotions and has that taken it toll on his players, and their enthusiasm. I find it hard to believe that these guys went from playing so much better to this bad, in one year, with virtually the same players as last year. Have teams all improved their defenses and offenses  so much better than UGA has?

I feel bad for the players more than anything. We fans will still have hope each and every year, but these kids invest a big chunk of their lives into the game, to be prepared poorly, and not have the coaching to play up to their potential. Saturday to me at least, showed a lot of very good athletes led into a tough game unprepared and with the main leaders unable to lead them down the road to victory.

Sadly, unless some changes are made with the leaders, I don't think the future is any brighter than it has been in the past over all. The athletes have made the coaches look good, almost ins spite of how they have been coached, prepared and led down the road.

I will always be a big DAWG fan, but I think, unless there are some changes made, I am not going to invest so much emotionally in the UGA team anymore. It is simply ridiculous for a grown man to lose sleep over a team, and also illogical to expect miracles when the situation doesn't change or at least the atmosphere, to change anything right now.

I am no coach by any means, but I study positions and try to figure out a little, what makes a team successful and a player a success.  I would like to think that I would have had a better game plan in place, or at least, all of the sudden, not been clueless as to how to adjust my plan to fit what was happening on the field. I would hope I wouldn't leave my athletes uninspired and not know how to keep their enthusiasm  up for the game, when they were down. S.C. is good and I am not taking anything away from them, but athlete for athlete, UGA had the better players. They, I just feel are on board a rudderless ship0, when the chips are down in big games, and the leadership is just not there to utilize and organize their talent to compete with the big boys in their class. I want to see some fire in the coaches eyes and on the sidelines. Sadly, unless there are some major changes made, I will not live to see them.

@ecdawg  @Socrates = Old Man Line Guy Sad but all so true. They wanted to win and we just showed up. We lost a w23hole bunch of opportunity last night. No BCS bowl, doubtful the SEC East, which we do not deserve anyway, and once again, a glaring shortage of good sound coaching decisions. Damn I had such hopes for this team, but they went out the window.

@ecdawg  @Socrates = Old Man Line Guy I have to agree. Number 18 started out making mistakes and never seemed to be in the game. Towards the end of the game, he was,  I think signaling to come out of the game. He set a bad example for the youngsters and I am not sure he shouldn't be relegated to 2nd team and give a couple of these youngsters a chance to play. It sure can't hurt in the long run. Hats off to J.J. and Motel 6, but I didn't see a lot else good. We always seemed to be out of position and late to the play. What in the world was wrong completely, I don't know, but there is always next year.

The players played the game they were given and there is a lot of good talent on the team. I just think Bobo needs to take a course in creative coaching, and not be allowed to run another kid up the middle again this year.  I charted the plays and I would say we ran the ball up the middle, at least 10 times,in the 59 plays that had any meaning. I guess I am not coaching material by any means, but  I think after the first five times, I got my lunch handed to me there, I might have done a little different than that. Their defense was all over us last night, but very few plays were deigned to get the ball out quick enough to save Murray from getting pounded and pressured.

Have a good day, folks because I am off to the race at Talladega, and since my driver is not in the chase, I can't lose today, LOL. I think I will leave my UGA shirt at home though, because I really hate it when somebody keys my truck.

Have a good day folks.

Any defensive player out there to recruit should actually feel a little better about UGA this morning because they know we need them. Then again, we could obviously afford a few more key offensive players as well. I don't know when I have had higher hopes for a team in the last 10 years and watched them self destruct like I did this years addition. The only thing we can try to do now, is win out, and hope on hope, that we get a good bowl. S'C. looks like they get the SEC East unless they have a game like we did last night, but I don't think their coach will allow that to happen.

I charted all of the plays last night, and out side of the last series when we played our scrubs, it is kind of obvious why we lost and I am still left to scratch my head over some of the offensive play calling. I keep thinking the coaches must have seen something that this amateur eyes didn't see when it cam to running the ball straight at their DL gut, but I am just an amateur so I guess I am missing something.

Hell, I am just going to put the game away for today, and head to Talladega and watch some speed, and forget about football for today. Everybody have a good day, and remember, there is always next year.

Well, we could have been number 3 in the country this morning but now, we will be most likely outside of the top 10. We plain got our lunch handed to us last night, and I can't really find one area where we meet expectations.

Let's see if I can find the superlatives to describe this game.

UGA was out coached, out played, uninspired, over rated and to top it off, they got their butts wiped.  I swear if Bobo had called another run up the middle against S.C., I would see if I could get a petition started to relieve Bobo of his duties. I am surprised that we even scored on their scrubs to be truthful. They did everything perfectly and we did nothing right. I felt sorry for Murray getting sacked and hurried all night. He did not have a great game by any stretch of the imagination, but he did not lose the game for UGA by himself. We really missed Bennett, but even he couldn't have made much of a difference this game. We just got our tails whipped by a much better team.  Rambo was a liability most of the game, and the whole defense took much to much time to wake up.

I have my doubts whether UGA will win the east for sure now, and to be truthful from what I saw today, UGA is once again the third best team in the SEC East. This wasn't just a loss, this was a complete shutdown by S.C. on us. I don't know where the team goes now, but I can hear the Capital; One Bowl calling our names, once again.  I don't know how we can have so many good athletes on a team, and not win a big game.

I love my DAWGS but there has got to be some soul searching and examination for these players now, to make this team successful.  J.J. played his heart out as well as our big man in the middle, but our secondary stunk up the place. I wish I could say, it was the teams youth that hurt us, but it wasn't. If we were to win all the rest of our games this year, I still don't think we win the East and to be truthful, we don't deserve to back into the title again.

Oh well, there is always next season. I thought the OL, did fair, but Bobo kept calling those runs up the middle, and to the right side to avoid Clowney,  but the receivers couldn't get off the line, couldn't catch the ball, and the offense made the game easy for their defense. They broke our back when they ran that kick back for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Oh well, only about 310 days left until the 2013 season starts. I am afraid, the high hopes and dreams of this years team, disappeared tonight. It was nice while it lasted, but way too short it seems.

@dostadawg Given Herbies record, I should think he would just keep quiet and wait for the game. Unfortunately, they actually pay that guy to comment and predict a games outcome. I would sooner  put my faith on the betting odds than him.

@dapperdanman (Be the hammer and not the nail) ESPN can guess also, but I don't think either one of these guys has given the impression they are leading one way or another. LSU will help dampen Florida thoughts after today.

@Socrates = Old Man Line Guy  @J the Junkyard Dawg If we can get some room to run early, S.C. can not afford to be so aggressive and over run the play. If that happens, Murray will have more time to work his magic on their secondary.

@ItsJustaFleshWound I think we can exploit their weak secondary.

@dapperdanman (Be the hammer and not the nail)  @dostadawg  @Socrates = Old Man Line Guy Theus has a lot to learn yet. It isn't that often you see an OL leave early for the NFL. It is a tough position to get down, and a lot more demanding that most think. A person like the RB, has a God given ability with their speed and legs most of the time, but most OL's have a learning curve, that is far greater than most think. They need to know the whole playbook, and have good foot movement and learn how to be tough.  It is a pretty hard position to learn and play at, when you think of the fact, that you not only have to follow your blocking assignment, but have to be able to adjust mighty fast, to a change in the defensive scheme. If you don't have a little bit of nasty streak in you, I don't think you can be big time and survive.

@dapperdanman (Be the hammer and not the nail) Good question. I still think in the end, that Ms. Tunsil will have a big input into where he ends up and I think she likes CMR and the university a whole lot. Crowder is going to go where he can start, right off the bat.

@goatdawg That game is a tough call for me. I was born and raised in Annapolis and made a military career out of the Air Force.  I guess in the end though, I go with the flyboys. I sure did enjoy my youth watching Staubach, Belino and a few others back in the early to mid 60"s.

@Coach P  @Dawgholio I agree. The coaches get the guys as ready as possible to play the game, but the guys have to play it like they should to win. With the athletes we have to put on the field this year, if the team doesn't win, some folks on the field are not doing their job.

@Socrates = Old Man Line Guy  @Dawgholio Just put the chicken in front of either a Spurrier picture or a video of him. If that ain't enough to put the damn thing out of it's misery, you can always result the tried and true S.C. method,  "Choking the Chicken", which is a favorite of all S.C. fans and citizens. They have a lot of practice at that.
