IF EVER AN OFFICIAL MIN ANY MAJOR SPORT (IN AMERICA) DESERVED THE COVER OF S.I. IT IS ED HOCHULI!    IF IT WERE NOT FOR HIS OFF THE CLOCK UPDATING AND TESTING OF THE "REAL OFFICIALS" DURING THE LOCKOUT, THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST AS BAD AS THE REPLACEMENTS IN THEIR FIRST WEEK BACK ON THE JOB. THERE WAS THE "NON FUMBLE - FUMBLE" IN THE GREEN BAY GAME, BUT OTHER THAN THAT ONE GLARING ISSUE, THE OVERALL GRADE FROM AROUND THE LEAGUE WAS A  "B+"  NOT BAD, CONSIDERING THEY DID NOT EVEN GET TO WORK THE SUMMER SCRIMMAGES OR PRESEASON GAMES.

Oh... Nice "take" on the situation!  I like your reasoning!

Although Todd Haley will employ different options @ times during games, depending on the Down & Distance...  Redman will get 85-90% of the Carries in 2012, barring Injury (of course).

I just think the NEW O-Line is going to "BLOW People Off The Ball"...

I see isaac Redman as the "Breakout Star" for the Steelers in 2012.

He showed flashes as a confident runner last Season, behind a "Patchwork" Offensive Line. If the new starters along The offensive Line can "gel" quickly, and open up the running lanes for Isaac. The sky is the limit for how high in the sky his "STAR" could rise.

He is a more decisive runner than Rashard Mendenhall. Hits sees the hole and hits it, rather than picking along the line, looking for the 50-yard run.If it's there, he will take it! Four yards/carry is a good gain in running back terms.

So expect The Steelers to make him a Workhorse under Todd Haley's direction.

@DomDiTolla  Sapp is a LOUDMOUTH!  You know it!  And admit it...  If you Dom, REALLY believe he is a First Ballot Hall of Fame player... You Sir NEED to do your "Homework"...

Lynn Swann was CONSIDERED a First Ballot Hall of Fame player in the eyes of MANY Football "PUNDITS" (such as you).. And it took him 14 Years to get in!  As far as "on the field of play", Sapp was NOT a "Dominating Force"!  His Statistics were GREATLY influence by the "Double Teams" applied to OTHER members of the Tampa Bay Defensive Line! Give John Randle MORE credit than than Warren Sapp for "revolutionizing" The position...

So SApp was DPOY one Season, & went to Seven Pro Bowls... Swann was a Super Bowl MVP & went to Nine Pro Bowls!

So, when it REALLY comes down to the "facts", YOU need to do "THE HOMEWORK!"  Before you go "running off @ the Mouth" like Sapp!

Kordell Stewart's 4th Quarter TOUCHDOWN Reception @ Cincinnati WAS the ONE play that I REMEMBER & cherish the Memory of the MOST!  I was watching from A Corporate Box @ then Riverfront Stadium...

The game was broadcast on NBC, as they were the AFC Network @ the time! I clearly remember "The Call" by Paul Maguire. On the previous play he noted, " O'Donnell HAS 'SLASH' wide open down the middle if he just sees him"... Then @ the snap of the ball he said, " There it is... Throw it... "  O'Donnell "saw" Slash this time! And Maguire went through the roof!  "He's got it! Oh he's carrying The Ball like a 'loaf of bread'..." As he crossed the Goal Line Maguire was LAUGHING, & said, "oh that's just GREAT stuff! The "kid" didn't know what to do with the ball, but... Oh That's just Great For Kordell Stewart!" The others in the Box were ALL standing & screaming, while I sat & almost CRIED with Joy as I watched the Half Dozen replays!  It REALLY was a Thing of Beauty!

To this day, I STILL think if Kordell Stewart had ditched his Great Desire to be a Quarterback In The NFL, & concentrated on being a Wide Receiver, we would NOT be talking about his "Surprise OFFICIAL Retirement" as a Pittsburgh Steeler! Oh no! But MORE likely about his "BUST" as he was being Enshrined in Canton!  His NATURAL ability @ The Wide Receiver position combined with his Knowledge as a Quarterback COULD/WOULD have made him A Hall of Famer!

I was @ the 1994/5 AFC Championship game. And I agree you Dominic, it still creates a "sickening feeling" when I think about it these 18 YEARS later!  I was "Physically Ill" on the long, painful drive Home to Columbus, Ohio. And it took Two Weeks for it to fully subside. It wasn't my disappointment that was so hard to deal with. But rather the thoughts of what  Rod Woodson would have done to Jerry Rice, & what Steelers Linebackers ("Quiver & Quake) Greg Lloyd & Kevin Greene would have done to 49'ers Quarterback Steve Young, that was SO hard to deal with!

Although the Team did find Redemption in DEFEATING The Colts in the 1995/6 AFC Championship Game. It was this Year's squad that was DESERVED of Winning It All!

When people say to me, "Well you got your butts kicked by The Cowboys in Super Bowl XXX"... I USUALLY respond with, "If the MOB hadn't threatened the Life of Neil O'Donnell's Mother, The Steelers WOULD have CRUSHED The Cowboys in that Super Bowl!"

Why else did he receive that BIG Pay Day from The Jets the following Off Season (5 Years & $25+ Million Dollars), then NOT play more than ONE Season of that Contract?!

I attended this Game, it WAS indeed a "CELEBRATION" of the 1994 Season & all that had been accomplished THUS far!  However, the following Week (The A.F.C. Championship Game LOSS to The San Diego Chargers in January of 1995) well, that Game was like a FUNERAL, when we ALL left in Shock @ the debacle The Steelers had just suffered through! I was (HONESTLY) Physically ILL for Two Weeks following that LOSS! It wasn't about me though... I had "Visions" of Rod Woodson getting his shot @ "shutting down" Jerry Rice, & The Steelers (Quiver & Quake) Linebackers LAYING the Wood to Steve Young!  It never pays to look that far ahead. And who would of though EVEN Mother Nature seemed to be on the side of The Chargers, by providing a 50 Degree day In January!  Some "Visions & Dreams" of the Future DIE H=A=R=D, & an appearance in Super Bowl XXIX was one of them!

Excellent analysis of this BIASED list!!  VERY well noted that San Francisco 49'ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh has NO RIGHT to be in the Top 10, or even Top 20, with ONLY "One Good Year" of success "under his belt"!

With all of the Reloading & change of Offensive Philosophy in Pittsburgh this Off-Season, it will be interesting to see how well Head Coach Mike Tomlin handles the "transition" into the NEW Era of Steelers football.

I fully expect there to be a seamless transition, with GREAT success as a result. Tomlin has already proven "time & time again" that he can handle "adversity", with WINNING being the "CONSTANT in his teams' VARIABLE World"!

After attending The N.F.L. Draft this Year, I can honestly say, I "feel" that his Fingerprints are NOW completely ALL OVER this Team. MOST of the Bill Cowher Era players are gone or approaching the end of their Careers. With the obvious exceptions being "BIG BEN", "The Man of Troy", James "Silverback" Harrison, and a few others. Just how well this Years' Draft Class performs on Game Day, IS going to go a long way in determining the Ultimate outcome of The Steelers upcoming Season. And whether they attain "The Magnificent Seven" (or "Seventh Heaven) this Season.

If Mike Adams PROVES he is WORTHY of being the Starting Left Tackle in Training Camp, as I for one, suspect he WILL... Then Why NOT have TWO Starting Offensive (ROOKIE) Linemen?

He & Guard David DeCastro are BOTH "First Round Blue-Chip" talent... Ben Roethlisberger will NOT be picking himself up off the Turf 45 Times this Season, as BOTH of these Young men are going to do ONE thing WELL, "Protect The FRANCHISE" - that is "Big Ben"!!

The Steelers "imposed" Stipulations on Mike Adams UNLIKE any other Draft Selection in the History of OUR Proud Franchise. As long as Mike adheres to those Stipulations & proves to The Coaches & Organization that he is OUR Best Option @ Left Tackle, MORE POWER to Him!

I expect, (as a 36-Year Season Ticket Holder), BIG THINGS from the revamped Offensive Line in the upcoming Season! Not ONLY Pass Protection, but some BIG Running Lanes for whoever is carrying the ball. Both Adams & DeCastro were EXCELLENT Run Blockers in their Collegiate careers, & I fully expect this to continue @ the Professional Level!

As long as Mike Adams is actively seeking Counseling, & adhering to ALL other "Stipulations" that The Steelers imposed on him BEFORE Drafting him, I have NO ISSUE with his not deferring his Signing Bonus! The Steelers Drug Testing Policy & those Additional "Stipulations" that were imposed on Mike Adams will sufficiently monitor him, & his "Off Field" activities. I believe in Mike Adams as First a Person, & secondly as A Football Player. Having watched him play @ The Ohio State University, & seeing his performance @ The Scouting Combine... I KNOW he will be a GREAT Pittsburgh Steeler, for the next DECADE!!   I congratulate The Steelers for their "acceptance" of his PERSONAL explanation of his being DISHONEST with them when questioned @ The combine, & for "taking active" steps to ensure his Quality of Life, and Production "On The Field", as a member of The Pittsburgh Steelers! I believe that it may work to The Steelers ADVANTAGE to trade down for Multiple Picks, as with their Salary-Cap "situation" this Season, and their Strong Desire to re-sign Wide Receivers Mike Wallace & Antonio Brown to Long-Term Contracts, the Cost of signing Multiple Lower Round picks would be a lot less EXPENSIVE in the Long Term!

I will be "attending" the N.F.L. Draft for the FIRST time, this year, and believe there will be MORE "Trade Scenarios" actually applied, than in any other Season in recent Draft History! It should/will be "Exciting" to say the very least!

I DO NOT anticipate Mike Wallace signing a Long-Term Contract with The Steelers, as his "focus" is NOT on the T=E=A=M, but on The "Brass Ring" ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$)!!

The Steelers would be wise to BEGIN "negotiations" with Wide Receiver Antonio Brown BEFORE the end of the (2012-13) Campaign, as he will become a Restricted Free Agent FOLLOWING this Season!  Brown has proven himself to be a BETTER "ALL-AROUND" Wide Receiver & Return THREAT, than Mike "Big Money" Wallace!   He has "earned" the Right to be a CAPTAIN, during the upcoming Season!

IF NO TEAM SIGNS HIM TO AN OFFER SHEET (THAT THE STEELERS CANNOT "MATCH"), WE GET NO SECOND FIRST-ROUND SELECTION AS COMPENSATION, PUTTING "PLANS" TO TRADE THAT SECOND FIRST-ROUND SELECTION FOR ADDITIONAL DRAFT CHOICES ON HOLD (@ BEST), IF NOT ELIMINATING THAT OPTION ALL TOGETHER.  HE WILL THEN HAVE TO ACCEPT AND PLAY FOR THE "TENDER" OFFER FROM THE STEELERS OF $2.477 MILLION FOR THE 2012-13 SEASON, OR SIT OUT THE SEASON IN A DISPUTE OVER PAY!  THEREBY "SCREWING" THE STEELERS OUT OF HIS SERVICES.  SECONDLY, IF HE ACCEPTS THE TENDER OFFER AND PLAYS THIS SEASON, HE BECOMES AN "UNRESTRICTED" FREE AGENT AFTER THE SEASON, AGAIN "SCREWING" THE STEELERS OUT OF BOTH HIS FUTURE SERVICES AND ANY FIRST-ROUND SELECTION COMPENSATION!!  HIS "GREED", WANTING A CONTRACT OF MORE THAN THAT OF LARRY FITZGERALD IN ARIZONA (8-YEARS AND $120+ MILLION DOLLARS), IS TOTALLY "OUT OF THE QUESTION" IN MY OPINION!!  LARRY FITZGERALD HAD NUMBERS THAT BELITTLE ANYTHING THAT MIKE WALLACE HAS DONE @ THE SAME POINT IN THEIR CAREERS!! HE "E=A=R=N=E=D THAT "FAT CONTRACT"... MIKE WALLACE'S STATISTICS SIMPLY DO NOT BEAR CONSIDERATION FOR THAT KIND OF PAYDAY!!  SURE, HE IS "GREAT" OVER THE FIRST HALF OF SEASONS, AVERAGING 96+ YARDS/GAME, BUT OVER THE LAST HALF OF SEASONS, AND "DOWN THE STRETCH & IN THE PLAYOFFS" HIS NUMBERS ARE PATHETIC... A MERE 43 YARDS/ GAME... THERE ARE TWO FACTORS THAT COULD EFFECT THIS: DEFENSES ARE "ROLLING COVERAGES" TOWARD HIM TO TAKE AWAY HIS DEEP THREAT CAPABILITIES... OR HE IS "TANKING"...  MAYBE IT IS A COMBINATION OF BOTH - I DO NOT KNOW. MAYBE HIS "FITNESS" LEVEL SIMPLY FALLS OFF AFTER THE FIRST EIGHT GAMES - ONLY MIKE WALLACE CAN ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS!  IN SUMMATION: MIKE WALLACE'S "GREED" WILL COST THE STEELERS "BIG TIME"!  AND AFTER ALL THE ORGANIZATION HAS DONE "FOR" HIM - THAT IS A SLAP IN THE FACE!!  I AN "HOPING AND PRAYING" SOMEONE WILL "MAKE AN OFFER (THAT WE CANNOT MATCH) & THAT HE CANNOT REFUSE" ("THE GODFATHER" REFERENCE IN PLAY THERE... LOL!)    ALL THE BEST!!

RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED,

EXACTLY MY FRIEND!!  I AM GLAD SOMEONE SEES IT MY WAY!!  ALSO, WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE DRAFT?  IF WE LOSE WALLACE, THEY ARE PREPARED TO DO ONE OF TWO THINGS, PACKAGE THE TWO FIRST ROUND PICKS TO MOVE UP IN ROUND 1 TO SELECT DONTARI POE MEMPHIS NOSE TACKLE, OR GEORGIA LEFT OFFENSIVE TACKLE/GUARD CORDY GLENN... OR THEY KEEP THEIR OWN PICK & TRADE IT FOR A SECOND & THIRD ROUNDER...

I AM FOR THE LATTER, WE NEED MORE BODIES!! THE GUARD POSITION IS DEEPER THIS YEAR THAN IT HAS BEEN ALL IN A DECADE... SO GET LINEMEN TO PROTECT "BIG-BEN!!" HE HAS BEEN SACKED 135 TIMES OVER THE LAST THREE SEASONS, AND MORE TIMES THAN ANY OTHER QUARTERBACK SINCE 2007!!  THEY WERE ORIGINALLY "TARGETING" ALABAMA INSIDE LINEBACKER DONT'A HIGHTOWER WITH THEIR FIRST-ROUND SELECTION, BUT THE CONCENSUS IS THAT CALIFORNIA LINEBACKER MYCHALL KENDRICKS WILL BE WAITING FOR THEM IN ROUND 2.

I HAVE A "COUSIN" WHO HAS WORKED IN THE "FRONT OFFICE" FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS, AND BEEN WITH THE STEELERS FOR THE LAST 22 YEARS IN SOME CAPACITY!  SO ,MY INFORMATION IS "VERY GOOD"... THEY WILL ADDRESS RUNNING BACK IN EITHER ROUND 2 OR 3, THEY WANT LAMICHAEL JAMES FROM OREGON, THEN THEY ARE GOING FOR A SAFETY TO GROOM, AS RYAN CLARK WILL BE A FREE AGENT NEXT SEASON, AND TROY HAS ONLY THREE YEARS LEFT UNDER CONTRACT!  THEY ALSO ARE GOING TO DRAFT A QUARTERBACK - THEY WANT CURT COUSINS FROM MICHIGAN STATE!

I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR TOUR THOUGHTS BRO!

I personally HOPE that Wide Receiver Mike Wallace DOES leave! It will give The Steelers SO MANY MORE "options" when it comes to the Draft. As well as free-up Salary-Cap space to re-sign Wide Receiver Jerricho Cotchery this Season, & sign Wide Receiver Antonio Brown to a Long-Term Extension! He will be a Free-Agent following this Season!  And when looking PURELY @ the Statistics, he is a BETTER "All Around" Receiver than Wallace! The first half of the Season Wallace is HOT, averaging nearly 96 Yards/Game, but in each of the last three Seasons, his LACK of PRODUCTION in the second half of the season & into the Playoffs, IS "GLARING!!"  He drops off to an average of 43 Yards/Game!!  I say "LET HIM GO!"  Trade the Second First - Round Draft pick for more picks in rounds Two & Three, & build an Offensive Line to keep "BIG BEN" Upright!  He has been sacked 135 times over the last three Seasons, & MORE TIMES THAN **A=N=Y** OTHER QUARTERBACK IN THE N.F.L. SINCE 2007!!  The Steelers NEED to PROTECT their FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK!  And Depth @ the Guard Position is the  **Highest this Decade**  in The April Draft!!   (M.S.M)

IT WAS DANIEL SNYDER'S GROSS OVERSPENDING, THAT ENABLED THE STEELERS TO SWOOP IN AND CLAIM RYAN CLARK THROUGH FREE AGENCY, A LAND IN WHICH THEY RARELY LAUNCH AN ADVENTURE. EVEN WITH THEIR SALARY-CAP ISSUES THIS SEASON, I FULLY EXPECT THEM TO MAKE A RUN @ RUNNING BACK MIKE TOLBERT, AND ANY OFFENSIVE GUARD THAT WILL @ LEAST LISTEN TO AN OFFER FROM THEM!!  PROTECTION FOR BEN ROETHLISBERGER IS M=A=N=D=A=T=O=R=Y!!  AS HE HAS BEEN "ON HIS BACKSIDE" (SACKED) 135 TIMES OVER THE LAST THREE SEASONS, AND MORE TIMES THAT A-N-Y OTHER QUARTERBACK IN THE N.F.L., SINCE 2007!!  (M.S.M.)

THE STEELERS ARE POISED TO LET WIDE RECEIVER MIKE WALLACE LEAVE AFTER ASSIGNING HIM ONLY A RESTRICTED FREE AGENT TAG. THIS WILL REQUIRE ANY TEAM SELECTING HIM TO GIVE THE STEELERS THEIR FIRST-ROUND SELECTION IN THE 2012 DRAFT. "RUMORS" HAVE CITED BOTH SAN FRANCISCO AND NEW ENGLAND AS THE TWO "POSSIBLE" TEAMS TO MAKE THIS DEAL. NEITHER WOULD BE GIVING UP A HIGH FIRST ROUND SELECTION, SAN FRANCISCO (#30) & NEW ENGLAND (#31). BUT THE STEELERS WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANOTHER SELECTION IN THE FIRST ROUND. (THEY HAVE NEVER IN THEIR 79 YEAR HISTORY HAD TWO FIRST-ROUND SELECTIONS). THEIR SIGHTS ARE SET ON ALABAMA INSIDE LINEBACKER DONT'A HIGHTOWER, BUT RECENT REPORTS SUGGEST THAT THEY HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS LONG-TERM DURABILITY AFTER HE SUFFERED A.C.L./ M.C.L./ & MENISCUS TEARS IN HIS LEFT KNEE IN HIS JUNIOR SEASON @ ALABAMA.  EVEN IF HE FALLS TO THEM @ SELECTION (#24), THEY MAY PASS ON HIM & SELECT (IF STILL ON THE BOARD) MASSIVE GEORGIA LEFT TACKLE CORDY GLENN (WHO @ THE COMBINE, REPORTED @ 351 POUNDS, RAN A 4.97 40-YARD DASH TIME WITH A 1.82 SECOND 10-YARD "SPLIT TIME", THEN BENCH PRESSED 225 POUNDS (33) TIMES. IF THEY GET HIM WITH THEIR FIRST FIRST-ROUND SELECTION @ (#24), THEY WILL BE LOOKING TO DRAFT MEMPHIS NOSE TACKLE DONTARI POE  WITH EITHER THE (#30 or #31) SELECTION, ACQUIRED BY THE DEPARTURE OF MIKE WALLACE. THEY WOULD THEN BE "TARGETING" MEMPHIS NOSE TACKLE DONTARI POE, WHO WOWED EVERYONE @ THE SCOUTING COMBINE BY REPORTING @ 352 POUNDS, RUNNING A 4.975 40-YARD DASH TIME, WITH A 1.70 SECOND 10-YARD "SPLIT TIME", AND BENCH PRESSING 225 POUNDS AN "ASTONISHING' (44) TIMES. THEY WOULD THEN LOOK TO WAIT UNTIL THEIR SECOND-ROUND SELECTION TO SELECT (FIRST ROUND POTENTIAL & #3 OVERALL RATED INSIDE LINEBACKER) PAC-12 "DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR" MYCHAL KENDRICKS!  THEY WILL ALSO BOLSTER THE OFFENSIVE LINE BY MAKING ONE (& O-N-L-Y ONE) FREE-AGENT ACQUISITION, THAT BEING EITHER SAINTS ALL-PRO GUARD CARL NICKS OR BEN GRUBBS (FROM THE ARCH RIVAL BALTIMORE "RAT-BIRDS"). IF NEITHER OF THEM CAN BE ACQUIRED FOR A REASONABLE SALARY, ONE THAT WILL ENABLE THE STEELERS TO SIGN A-L-L OF THEIR DRAFT SELECTIONS, THEN THEY WILL USE @ LEAST ONE OF THEIR TWO THIRD-ROUND SELECTIONS TO ACQUIRE THE SERVICES OF THE HIGHEST RANKED GUARD LEFT ON THE BOARD. THEIR LATER ROUND PICKS, (A  FOURTH ROUNDER, TWO FIFTH ROUNDERS, & ONE SIXTH & SEVENTH ROUND SELECTION) WILL BE USED TO SEARCH FOR DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD HELP. THERE ARE A LOT OF "SMALL-SCHOOL" CORNERBACKS & SAFETIES THAT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE STEELERS. IF MIKE WALLACE IS  N-O-T  DEALT, THE STEELERS WILL GO  ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS OF SELECTING EITHER GLENN OR POE @ (#24) & STILL HOPING THAT MYCHAL KENDRICKS FALLS INTO THEIR LAPS IN THE SECOND ROUND. THERE IS SOME "SCUTTLEBUTT" THAT THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO PACKAGE THEIR TWO THIRD ROUND SELECTIONS & THEIR FOURTH ROUND SELECTION, & AS HIGH AS THEIR THIRD ROUND SELECTION (IN 2013) IN ORDER TO MAKE THESE DEALS COME TO FRUITION. AMBASSADOR ROONEY (OF IRELAND) SPOKE TO THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS "FRONT OFFICE PERSONNEL" FOR THREE DAYS (SIX HOURS EACH SESSION) & SAID TWO THINGS, THOSE BEING FIRSTLY:    I WANT THE HONOR, RESPECT & TRADITION OF PITTSBURGH STEELERS FOOTBALL ORGANIZATION RESTORED IMMEDIATELY!!   & SECONDLY:   IF WE HAVE TO START "MAKING  DEALS" IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS TEAM CAPABLE OF WINNING ITS SEVENTH SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP, THEN LET'S "GET THE BALL ROLLING" NOW (THIS SEASON) BEFORE WE ARE "DISCOVERED" & OUR DEALINGS ARE "QUASHED' BY TEAMS SIMPLY TRYING TO STOP/BLOCK US FROM ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP!!  I FULLY EXPECT THE STEELERS TO WIN THEIR SEVENTH LOMBARDI TROPHY WITHIN THE NEXT TWO SEASONS. PROBABLY NOT IN THE (2012-2013) SEASON, DUE TO THE TRANSITION TO A LOT OF "ROOKIE" STARTERS @ "KEY" POSITIONS, BUT CERTAINLY BY THE END OF THE (2013-2014) SEASON...  DOUBTERS, HATERS, SCOFF IF YOU MUST, BUT THE STEELERS ARE COMING INTO THIS SEASON 100% HEALTHY - SO LOOK OUT LEAGUE!!!    M.S.  @karim   I AM TOTALLY "WITH" YOU ON THIS!!  YOU KNOW, AFTER THE LOCKOUT LAST YEAR THEY CAME TO HINES AND SAID, (AND I QUOTE, AS MY COUSIN THOMAS MARSHALL IS PART OF THE STEELERS MANAGEMENT TEAM WITH THE LAST EIGHT YEARS IN THE "FRONT OFFICE") "HINES, WE WANT YOU TO PLAY OUT THE LAST TWO YEARS OF YOUR CONTRACT HERE IN PITTSBURGH, WE WILL ENSURE YOU BREAK ALL OF THE "TEAM RECORDS" FOR RECEIVING, BUT IN YOUR LAST YEAR, WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO BE A PLAYER/COACH, TEACHING THESE "YOUNG GUNS" HOW TO RUN SHARPER ROUTES, CONCENTRATE ON OFF-SEASON "CONDITIONING", AND SHOW THEM HOW TO COME "BACK TO THE BALL" & SHOW THEM  Y-O-U-R  "SPECIALTY" DOWN-FIELD BLOCKING!!

karim, I PERSONALLY DO NOT "SEE" HIM PLAYING IN ANOTHER CITY, ALTHOUGH HE SAYS HE HAS "A LOT OF FOOTBALL LEFT IN HIM..."  IF HE GOES ANYWHERE, IT WILL BE TO A "STRUGGLING" TEAM SUCH AS JACKSONVILLE, ETC.  THAT IS NO WAY FOR "THE GREATEST RECEIVER IN PITTSBURGH STEELERS HISTORY" TO FINISH HIS CAREER. IT REMINDS ME OF THE WAY FRANCO HARRIS ENDED HIS CAREER - BY GOING TO SEATTLE & RUSHING FOR 348 YARDS & 1 T.D. - WHAT KIND OF WAY WAS THAT FOR "THE GREATEST RUNNING BACK IN PITTSBURGH STEELERS HISTORY" TO END HIS CAREER???

LIKE I HAVE PREVIOUSLY STATED... I MET HINES ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, AND HE IS ONE OF THE NICEST MEN THAT I HAVE EVER MET (OFF OF THE PLAYING FIELD). HE COMPARED NICELY TO FORMER STEELERS (GREAT) OUTSIDE LINEBACKER KEVIN GREENE, (NOW THE LINEBACKERS COACH IN GREEN BAY!)  HE TOO WAS ONE WONDERFUL GUY, OFF OF THE FIELD. HE AND HIS WIFE INVITED MY BROTHER & I TO THE RESTAURANT WHERE THE TEAM WAS GATHERING TO CELEBRATE THE TEAM'S WIN OVER THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS IN THE 1195-96 A.F.C. CHAMPIONSHIP GAME (EN ROUTE TO THEIR FIRST SUPER BOWL  L-O-S-S  TO DALLAS  -  THANKS TO NEIL O'DONNELL'S THREE INTERCEPTIONS!)...  O'DONNELL "THREW 5 INTERCEPTIONS ALL YEAR THEN THREW THOSE RIDICULOUS (FIRST TWO) DIRECTLY TO DALLAS CORNERBACK LARRY BROWN! (THE M.V.P. OF SUPER BOWL XXX)... I WAS THERE. IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT O'DONNELL WAS "THROWING' THAT GAME!!  THEN AFTER THAT SEASON (BECOMING A FREE-AGENT) AND RECEIVING A 5-YEAR $25 MILLION DOLLAR DEAL FROM THE NEW YORK J-E-T-S!!  (HIS FAMILY LIVED IN NEW JERSEY, SO I & COUNTLESS OTHERS BELIEVE THERE WAS "MOB" INVOLVEMENT!)  HE WILL N-E-V-E-R "COME CLEAN" ON THIS SUBJECT, THAT'S FOR SURE!!  I THOUGHT IT WAS AWFUL OF HIM TO "ROB" STEELERS ALL-TIME "GREAT" CORNERBACK ROD WOODSON OF A SUPER BOWL VICTORY!!   IF I EVER SEE NEIL O'DONNELL @ ANT STEELERS "TEAM FUNCTION/REUNION", I SWEAR BEFORE G-O-D THAT I AM GOING TO PUNCH HIM IN HIS MOUTH!!   B-A-S-T-A-R-D!!!     (M.S.M.)

"JUST BUSINESS..." THEY SAY.        WELL, IF  A-N-Y  PITTSBURGH STEELERS PLAYER EVER "TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS", IT WAS THE "INCOMPARABLE" HINES WARD... HIS RECEIVING SKILLS & ULTIMATELY, HIS "DOWN-FIELD" BLOCKING, WILL LONG BE REMEMBERED IN "THE STEEL CITY!" HIS ABILITY TO TAKE IT UPON HIMSELF (WITHOUT COACHING STAFF DIRECTIVES) TO SHOW THIS GROUP OF "YOUNG" WIDE RECEIVERS (MIKE WALLACE, EMMANUEL SANDERS AND ANTONIO BROWN), HOW TO RUN BETTER ROUTES, "COME BACK TO THE BALL" (WHEN "BIG-BEN" IS IN TROUBLE - WHICH IS NEARLY ON EVERY PASSING DOWN, THANKS TO THE "POROUS" OFFENSIVE LINE), & TO "DOWN-FIELD" BLOCK, WELL THAT IS SOMETHING THAT I AM NOT SURE  A-N-Y OTHER VETERAN WIDE RECEIVER IN THE HISTORY OF THIS ORGANIZATION HAS EVER DONE!

I HAVE MET HINES WARD ON @ LEAST 5 OCCASIONS, @ TRAINING CAMP, AND AFTER A.F.C. CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES (BOTH WON AND LOST), AND I CAN TELL YOU FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND COMPLETELY WITHOUT RESERVATION, THAT HINES WARD (THE MAN) IS ONE OF THE MOST CLASSY INDIVIDUALS THAT HAS EVER "GRACED" THE PLAYING FIELD IN A PITTSBURGH STEELERS UNIFORM!

IT IS RIDICULOUS TO ME, AS A 37-YEAR SEASON TICKET HOLDER, THAT THIS ORGANIZATION WOULD SEND THEIR ALL-TIME LEADER @ (ANY POSITION) WIDE RECEIVER, "OUT THE DOOR" SO UNCEREMONIOUSLY!  HINES WARD EPITOMIZES THE SENSE OF LOYALTY AND DIGNITY THAT THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS HAVE LONG HELD AS "TRADITION"...

I AM "SERIOUSLY" CONSIDERING  N-O-T RENEWING MY SEASON TICKETS @ THIS JUNCTURE!

JUST BUSINESS...

I MET GREG LLOYD THREE TIMES, TWICE @ TRAINING CAMP AT SAINT VINCENT'S COLLEGE IN LATROBE, PA. AND AFTER THE 1995 A.F.C. CHAMPIONSHIP GAME WIN OVER THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS. HE WAS SMOKING A CIGAR, GETTING IN HIS DODGE "DUALLY" TRUCK ON THE WAY TO "PARTY" WITH THE REST OF THE TEAM. HE WAS ARROGANT, YET FLEXIBLE WHEN IT CAME TIME TO TALK TO AND POSE FOR PICTURES WITH FANS. I HAVE A GREAT SHOT OF HIM AND I , AS HE "BLAZED AWAY" ON THAT CIGAR IN HIS TRUCK WITH THE DOOR OPEN. HE "GAVE A LITTLE CHEESE" FOR THE CAMERA, THEN SAID, "LATER, MY CAT!" AND SHUT THE DOOR, PUT IT IN DRIVE AND "ROARED" OUT OF THE STEELERS (THREE RIVERS STADIUM - PLAYERS) PARKING LOT!  HE WAS A FEROCIOUS HITTER, AND COMBINED WITH KEVIN GREENE FORMED THE TANDEM "QUIVER AND QUAKE!" THE BEST IN THE MIDDLE 1990's...

@DomDiTolla MY COUSIN ASSURED ME THAT THE "FRANCHISE TAG" WILL NOT BE USED ON MIKE WALLACE, AS THIS WOULD DEMAND THAT HIS ANNUAL SALARY INCREASE TO A MINIMUM OF $9.415 MILLION DOLLAR$ PER SEASON. THE STEELERS WILL N-O-T GO THAT HIGH! THE NEARLY $35 MILLION DOLLAR OFFER TO BE PRESENTED TO MIKE WALLACE THIS WEEK, WILL BE THEIR FIRST AND FINAL OFFER. IF HE DOES NOT ACCEPT IT, WE WILL REAP THE BENEFITS OF A SECOND FIRST-ROUND DRAFT PICK. HE WILL NOT WALK, WITHOUT THE STEELERS ORGANIZATION RECEIVING A FIRST-ROUND PICK IN COMPENSATION. BEN RESTRUCTURING HIS DEAL & FREEING UP ANOTHER $8 MILLION DOLLARS MAY STILL NOT BE ENOUGH TO ENSURE WE RESIGN MIKE WALLACE. I THINK IT IS GOING TO TAKE THE RELEASE OF INSIDE LINEBACKERS JAMES FARRIOR ( @ $6.3 MILLION AGAINST THE CAP), & LARRY FOOTE (@$3.255 MILLION AGAINST THE SALARY CAP). THEY HAVE "TARGETED" ALABAMA INSIDE LINEBACKER DONT'A HIGHTOWER TO REPLACE FARRIOR & AND BELIEVE STEPHENSON SYLVESTER CAN FILL THE VOID LEFT BY THE DEPARTURE OF LARRY FOOTE. MIKE WALLACE WILL BE A PITTSBURGH STEELER THROUGH THE END OF THE 2016 SEASON. I QUESTION WHETHER HE IS TRULY WORTH THIS PRICE, AS HIS PRODUCTION SLIPPED FROM 92.5 YARDS PER GAME THROUGH THE FIRST 9 GAMES, TO 42.3 YARDS PER GAME OVER THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON...  WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS DOM??
