I think you're right that PR has a perception problem. I do think that what PR is, and what it can do for your business, is great. But it's such a broad, multi faceted approach that the label PR doesn't do it justice.

My sister has jumped in and changed her business page to Timeline, I can't say that I'm a massive fan myself. I didn't realise that we were all going to be forced to change at the end of the month. Time to take another look.

Far too many people throw up a Facebook business page and think they are done. Even getting people to like your page doesn't mean a lot, it's how much engagement you are getting with your brand. However, if like PJ, you are getting more than 150 responses to each Facebook update then you are obviously doing something right.

I think you're spot on with this. I worked incredibly hard for 7 years, but that was for my own business and the pay off was worth it. However, I have many other friends who work equally as hard, continue to do so, and aren't going anywhere. Just working hard won't get you where you want to be, you have to work hard on the right things.

I've always found the legal system in the States rather strange with the split between Federal and State law. It is quite worrying the amount of laws you have on the statute books int he States and the amount of red tape that this entails.

If there is one thing I have found about wine is that the more you know the less you know. It's like opening up Pandora's box. I felt more comfortable in my wine ignorance stage than I do now having a very basic working knowledge about different grapes and regions.

I think Roe is so right. The music industry is backwrads now. So much is packaged, reality show rubbish with no lasting appeal - if any. 1 or 2 albums and then they are replaced. Think of the Beetles, they did years and years of gigging before they made it. And it's doing the gigging that honed their art.
