Good Morning my Fanatic Brothers and Sisters.  I hope this post finds all of you well and in Good Spirits.  A Special Shout Out to our crews in NJ/NYC/CT/DE/MD, and pray your Lives are returning to normal and your damage is minimal.

Steady as A Rock, I concur with your statements on decorum and conduct.  As a life long Fan, I do understand Passions can run Hot and High, but Respect for one another should be a given.  As one who can Flick at the drop of a hat, it is not the wise course in Human Interaction.  The Drum has been beaten and i will move along.

So far, our Beloved Knicks are off to a great start.  IMHO, at this juncture, the team's MVP is WOODY -MANGO...  He's grown as a coach from his stint in ATL and his ability to reach players and get the best out of them is a special talent.  Obviously, being a former player gives him Street Cred, but at the moment, this TEAM has bought into the concept of TEAM  meaning TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE.  And, promoting that concept and making it a reality is much easier with a Veteran Laden Team, then a Young Team, with Egos running a muck and Personal Agendas getting in the way, because players are establishing careers verses putting exclamation points on careers.

Hats off to WOODY - MANGO and GRINDY - GRUND for building a team that is working as ONE!  OF course, I know it is early, and the true test will be how they respond to adversity.  But so far, I like what I've seen.

All the Best Fanatics!

Good monring my Fanatic Brethren!  Now, that was fun last night.  It is only one game and we have 81 more to go, but that was so much fun.  And, so desparately needed.  Just the diversion the Tri - State Area needed.

IMHO, this season, Point Guard play will make the difference and of health of the team.  Regardless oft he age of the team, health is important, certainly going down the stretch.

Lastly Peace & O & B, do not lose hope, nor should you give up on the blog.  Always remember, people go through phase sin life and each day can direct your interest elsewhere.  Whether it is your children, job, hobbies, aging parents, loss of a love one.  Gents, the fellowship we established here is alive and well.  Just be patient with your Brothers & Sisters.  They will peep in soon to see what's going on.  TRUST ME!  Peace & Love my Brothers and I wll chime in after the Phllly game on Sunday.  GO KNICKS & GO GMEN!

Linsanity will return to Garden in in the Fall of 2012 in all of its Glory.  The Franchise will not leave that kind of Money n the table for Raymond Feltoff...

Plus if he does not pan out by the 3rd year his contract has great value and they will get rid of him.  Now, don't misread the leaves.  I am not saying his play on the court warrants this contract, but the butts he'll put in seats, the merchandise he will sell overseas will be to rich to pass up.

Gents, this is Chess, not Checkers...  And, didn't I tell you the Knicks had Three Cards up their Sleeve when I peeked in through the Backdoor a week or so ago.  Watching the USA Team practice at the DC Armory and these Ballers are amazing.  The Joints Chiefs of Staff are having a Ball, along with other Military Families...  LBJ is one Strong looking Brother Face to Face....  But I stared the MOFO Down and Congratulated Him on his First NBA Championship.

@Orange_and_Blue   O & B, this is how I see it from a game plan perspective.  Melo on Offense, must make Bron work hard if that is the match-up, and He must be as much decoy as he will be scorer.  If he forces the Heat to double, we've got them.  They are the worst defensive team guarding the 3 point shot.

Secondly, STAT must play the 5 spot more often in this series so the P & R game is effective.  Whether he dives to the hoop of shoots the elbow jumper, he's got to make CBOSH work.  With STAT at the 5 spot, it allows Melo to play the 4 spot and creates havoc on the Heat's D.  The real key to this Series is JR.  The lineup of IMAN, JR,  MELO, STAT, FIELDS or NOVAKAINE, creates problems.  If JR decides to penetrate more often then settle for the jumper, we're good.  With that lineup, there are mismatches on the floor for MELO & JR. The downside to this lineup is on the Defensive end.  Can STAT effectively defend Bosh and can the others effectively help on D and rebound.  The other concern is turnovers.  Limit turnovers, force a half court game and we have a good chance of eliminating the Heat.  The Heat WILT under the pressure in the half court game. The Knicks most also get as many easy baskets as they can, while limiting the Heat's opportunities.  Easier said than done, because again we want to control tempo and limit turnovers.  So we should only look to run when BDAVIS is the game, unless it is there for the taking.

Rebounding, limit turnovers, convert more easy baskets, play suffocating half court D, we win this series in 6.

Lastly, if LFIELDS plays with confidence, boards, defends, and be aggressive on the offensive end along with Shumpert doing exactly the same, this series could end early.  WOODY with the HOODY knows what's up.

@Orange_and_Blue Hey O & B!  Thanks for the kind expression.  Much appreciated!  IMHO, this is a 6 game series, and I am leaning with a NY Knick's upset...

The keys in my opinion are Rebounding (Melo, STAT, JR, and LFIELDS have to board.  Chandler will play, do his thang, and hopefully breathe all over CBOSH  and the other bigs, and infect them with the Flu (although, I am convinced this Ole School Indiana U gamesmanship taught by Master Blaster Himself BKNIGHT)

That's my take O & B!  I am Never Wrong, Seldom Right...LOL

 @Tman

TMAN, Collins knows the deal.  He and his team are witnesses and victims to the Defensive Transformation taken place with OUR BELOVED KNICKS...  Per our recent post discussios, Ole School BBALL...  HUBIEB said the same thing last night...

Tranistion D- Improved,

Half-Court Defense - Improved,

Inside Defense -Improved (Brand disappeared in the second half & 1 offensive RB in the second half after several in the 1st),

Defensive Adjustments Bench/Halftime - Signifcantly improved; TO'S/STEALS/BLOCKS/CHARGES - Effort Plays - Significant Improvement

Effective Defensive Strategy - Vast Improvement (Pressing, picking up full court, 3/4 & 1/2 court traps)

REBOUNDING - Outstanding

On Offense, MWOODY has made this team less predictable, because he has this team running half court sets, isolations, post ups; the Spread Offense is still in effect, and the Pick and Roll, and employing a little UNC High Post  Game Chandler relieving pressure an open up the the baseline game, plus due to the defensive pressure and an increase in fastbreak points, they're getting more easy baskets than their opponents.easy.  With the offensive weapons on the team, they will be a nightmare to defend.  On any given night, 1 - 12 can hurt you or some conbination of the 12.   This is how the game is supposed to be played.

Lastly, the Defense SHUMP & JRSHOOTY played on Wlliams and Holiday in the last 5 minutes of that game secured that victory.  And, one other thang, MELO had a horrible shooting nogjht, but he scored the most important 4th Quarter bucket (Jumper from the crease), which extended the lead to six points, and from there JLIN and the two mentioned above put the icing on this WIN.  STAT was STAT of Old offensively for 42 minutes, and someone assumed his body with two minutes left with that Sick Energy Block on EBRAND...

Key Words - RESPECT THE GAME - REPETITION

Thanks for sharing the article TMAN.  Years ago, the NY Post had a great sports section and I use to read it regularly, but any publication owned by Rupert Murdoch is not worth the paper it is printed on IMHO.

Nevertheless, hearing MWOODY spout the names like Connie, Darnell Hillman,George MC, Mel Daniels, and Brooklyn Born, Wingate HS BBALL Star, Dayton Flyer Scoring Machine, Roger Brown, I felt a chill run up and down my spine.  Those who are Old enough to rember the High Flying Days of ABA, know that Indiana was one of the Premier Franchises in the ABA and won 3 ABA Champiohsips in 4 years.  Wow! Who remebers Slick Leonard.  Fellas tjhose were the good ole days.

MWOODY'S BBALL role models and influences are true Heavyweights in the game's history and it is evident, those influences are a part of how he is coaching this Team.  Have respect for the game (High Fives after Dunks, means getting back late on D is a no no); Maximum Effort (MELO"S comments don't compute for MWOODY), and the ole adage from coaches of yesterday, Rebounding and Defense win games (HUSTLE);  Despite the compeition those influences were present in last night's game and during this 4 game winning streak, and I love the way he corrects things on the SPOT.  Now that is real Ole School.  Also, thos  ewho measure talent based on the competition, lose sight of the most basic requirement for success.  It is REPETITON, regardless of the task or the opponent that fastens materials or people.  The one thing that has me ENCOURAGED is OUR REPETITION concenring effort, rebounding, focus, and intensity.  Now if we improve our Freethrow Shooting and efficiency on our post up sets, and continue to decrease the number of turnovers REPEATEDLY, we may have a WINNING FORMULA....

Key Words for today:  RESPECT THE GAME & REPETITION...

LIVES, did I hear there is a case of Pink Eye on the Thread....  LIVES,  PEACE, say ain't so...

JILIN, is an important piece of this year's Knick Squad.  A legitimate PG, who is learning on the job, and to be quite frank, doing admirably under the circumstances, considering he is playing in the Pressure Cooker called New York, and now leading a TEAM with great expectations due to its colletion of Stars.

The KID still has a lot to learn, but the one thang he has you cannot teach, it is HEART.  I also like the fact that he LIVES in the MOMENT and FOR the MOMENT...  There are better PG'S in league, no doubt about it.  But thes next 21 games, along with a reasonable Playoff Run, will be a Great learning experience for JLIN. Failure is the Stepping Stone to Success.  Not the Antithesis!

"I'm not afraid of the Storms, it is how I learned to sail my boat; I understand that Paience and Faith is Wisdom."

A Good Cure for Pink Eye is to always to remember these words, "Success is a Journey and not a Destination..."

@Lives Good Call Resident Poet.  MWOODY will have it no other way.  Like TMAN and I have discussed, he is Old School and trained by the best BBALL minds in the game like Red Holtzman and SIRBKNIGHT...  His substitution patterns have been on the mark in the last three games.  AND, the culprits will sit, e.g the open three from the corner when LFIELDS had to show cause STAT was late rotating over.  He called out LFIELDS for explanation, once he got it, both LFIELDS and STAT took a seat.  LFIELDS never to return to the game.  SHUMP was a beast last night on the Defensive end and JR got down and dirty too.  Even NOVAKAINE played better and boxed out and grab some critical rebounds along with JLIN.  It is quite clear, he has told this team that they have to play the pick and roll better, and even STAT has looked better defending the P & R.  DEFENSE WINS GAMES AND CHIPS.  It is as smple as that FANATICS...

I understand TMAN'S concerns about MWOODY, but I think he's the man for the moment and possibly into the future.  Games like last night were games this team lost under DIDIOT'S guidance.  No such let down under MWOODY'S watch so far.

As I always say, this is a Journey and not a monument.  We must take it one game at a time.

HAPPY SUNDAY FANATICS AND TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

TMAN, remeber how were reflecting on the Glory Days not long ago.  Woodson's first coach in the NBA was none other than RED.  His Collegiate Coach of course SIRBKNIGHT, a displinarian and a Defense first coach, and YOU RUN MY OFFENSE Coach or you sit your AZZ next to me so I can SMACK the SHYTE out of you...LOL

Woodson is Ole School!  Run sets that take full advantage of your scorers and those who hoist the BBALL more than others, MUST PLAY D or come sit your AZZ next to me.  The supporting Cast play off their Stars and in doing so, ball distribution increases, but in critical moments, you run plays for your Stars, or as Decoys when you really have good 3rd & 4th options like the Championship Knick teams had in their hayday.

The LIL GENERAL colluded big time in creating this LINSANITY BULLSHYTE as MODI, me, and many others understand.  Sealing DIDIOT"S Fate knowingly, because his Italian Stubbornness is Legendary.  Ask Steve Kerr, the recipient of 5 RINGS.  DIDIOT NONE!  Now we have blog sites and confused Knick Fans spewing foolishness like JLIN should take most of the shots (NBA Sells more Jerseys); the team should be JLIN'S team (Sell more tickets at higher prices; sell more radio and TV broadcast rights interantionally); Trade MELO and let JLIN be the man, because he won 8 games verses MELO'S hundred's of NBA Wins (create False BUZZ for more impressions on all NBA Revenue Channels and NBA Corporate Partners- I saw the Memo)

LINSANITY has turned into INSANITY...  HE may become a decent PG in this league one day; but If he is smart, he will work on his game, learn how to play THE REAL NBA WAY, or he will be reduced to a Shooting Asian Star that Crashed and Burned Stateside for all to see....

JLIN NOT CAREFUL OR DOESN"T ADJUST AND WISE UP, he'll have reason to be emotional, because he'll be SLEEPING ON SOMEBODY ELSES COUCH...Just A QUICK PROFITABLE BLIP ON THE NBA REVENUE SCREEN

So Shall It Be Written, So Shall It Be Done....

TMAN, from where I am sitting this TEAM is Dysfunctional from top to bottom.  Poor coaching and Poor on the court Leadership by MELO and STAT, and a MGMT Team that knows how generate significant revenue and produce a medicore proudct year to year.

II took the opportunity to watch Monday's game last night.  My eyes do not lie, poor Rebounding (Effort) and poor Defense (Effort).  Main Culprits the USUAL SUSPECTS...   Watch the Tape...  I don't get the ball when I should, so I commit dumb fouls on the Oponents; I don't box out, stand around watching, Oponents offensive Rebound;  Poor defensive rotation, cheapp buckets and offensive febounds. for our Oponents

If the greatest takeaway from a game in critical juncture of the, verses the TOP DAWG in the Eastern Conference is the TEAM GAVE A BETTER EFFORT, that team is in deep DO DO...  Right now we should be fine tuning execution, working on the finite rotations for the playoffs, and keeping the STARS rested.

And, instead we're talking about EFFORT, EFFORT, we shouldn't be talking about EFFORT...  EFFORT!  What a damn shame.

After being MIA, while attending to more important matters.  I thought I would check in on the Fanatic Thread to catch up on My Brudders, who I just knew were suffering from this pitiful losing streak our Beloved Knicks are on.  And, Lo and Behold, the Fisrt THANG I see is the Gigantic Booty that looked familiar...  Followed a Penthouse Missive from My Dawg Peaceman, asking that MELO be allowed to be MELO...

Then it hit me, STINKY THONG = STINKY D....  For the record, been there and HIT THAT...   Secondly, as long as MELO is JELLO on the Defensive side of the BBALL, he's just like that STINKY THONG...  FULL OF SHYTE!!!!!

Whassup Fanatics!  I did not bother to watch last night's game because I knew the outcome.  High scoring game and not a lick of Defensive played by the BIG TEASE KNICKS...

If Dolan has any business sense, he would trade STAT and CHANDLER for DHOWARD, if the Magic are interested.  Then FIRE DIDIOT and let Woodson coach the team for the rest of the year.  The trade improves our team on the  defensive and offensive side of the ball.  I am a firm believer that you cannot win the Chip in today's NBA without a low post presence.  Despite DHOWARD"S in ability to knock free throws, he would create open shots from the 3 point line and force defenses to double and triple team the low post.

If such a trade occurred, my starting Pound would be NOVAK, MELO, DHOWARD, JLIN and SHUMPERT.  JJEFFRIES, JRSMITH, BDAVIS, LFIELDS and JHARRELSON, off the bench.  Just imagine how many 3's NOVAK would produce with DHOWARD in the post, or MELO playing off DHOWARD in the post from the weakside.  It would would cerainly open up the Hole for JLIN.  Our TEAM rebounding and defense would improve, and we would shy away from this IDIOTIC EURO BBALL that produces nothing but Wet Dreams and One Glove experiences.  I expect some dissent from my Fanatic Family, but I no longer can watch this BULLSHYTE...

We are slowly working our way back into the 9th spot, and if we don't do something dramatic soon, this team will truly disappoint.
