Ok.. a very difficult decision, but I have to give it up to a Celtics fan who posted his favourite Laker!
brumbygg - contact me for information on how to get your master tracks!
@JosiahYiu Hey Josiah - I hear you're friends with my cousin! Good stuff... great comment, and came very, very close.
Good work guys... keep 'em coming!
@ChrisCano Wasn't grammar per se... just no idea what you were trying to say.
And LA aren't in the playoff mix? Err... Chris? I think you need to follow basketball just a wee bit more carefully.
(oh... and note: you should always have a space after an ellipsis!)
@ChrisCano @spursfan80 Is... "suspect" the word you really want to use there?
It'd be a foolish man to look at a team with Dwight, Kobe, Nash (and perhaps Gasol)... and declare it's nothing to worry about.
@aamador521 @WithMalice @RogJr38 Actually, it was more a snide reference to "da" way RogJr wrote his commentary.
Spot on. I think that if the Lakers get rolling, they're going to be a problematic opponent for any team. That's not to say that they'll win whoever they face first round (tho' I suspect they *could*), but who wants a first round series that goes the entire distance?
@RogJr38 Can someone translate this for me?
In all seriousness, reading your comment post the other guy (aamador521) calling another team "cocky" is funny as hell.
@MichaelSaunders Well... firstly, I think he absolutely still has his detractors. But I still believe he has a very long way to go before he's known on a Jordan level.
Here in Japan? Many people still don't know who LeBron is, but even kids know Jordan.
Some great responses here, but the one I liked best was from rikstenz.
Loved the line "...the fact of the matter is: even when you live in your mom's basement, it can't get much worse and all you really have to do is move out. C'mon Wolves, time to pack your bags!"
Good stuff.
rikstenz - please contact me via the contact form (tab at the top of the page), and we'll organise delivery.
Well done!
Some great comments people... going to make it a difficult decision!
@Lives "Being critical of the best choice out there"? How so?
Because I called him a "part-timer"? Hell, that's what Jackson would have amounted to being, and I'll stand by my comment that I do not want a guy who's half-assed about the job. Develop a mentor? Mentee perhaps? How would Phil develop his own 'mentor' (would that be Tex Winter?)?
Interesting you make the Freudian slip of calling the Lakers "the Knicks"... and really. You'll talk the Knicks up after less than half a dozen games? Just as I'll not write the Lakers off on their performances thus far this season, I'll not crown the Knicks as... well... anything yet.
And didn't the Knicks get to be rated 5th in Def efficiency with Mike D at the helm? Sure, Woodson had a lot to do with that... but at least realise that he has a helluva lot more to work with at LA than he did at New York.
Lastly: ridiculous to say "never". But for David Stern's suspension of Amare, they'd both be likely to already *HAVE* a ring.
@slapdoghoops Really? Worse than a 1-4 in the first 5 games? I very much doubt that. Not with a starting five of Nash/Bryant/MWP/Gasol/Howard...
@slapdoghoops Dunno about "favour"... I think Phil misses it all, and I think that if the Lakers cave to his requests, he'll do it.Having thought about it tho', I definitely do not want them coached by a part-timer, and that's what PJ would end up being. Bad for his legacy (the way he went out last time was bad enough), bad for the team.
@CollegeWolf Yup. Good to see an NBA player who doesn't take himself so seriously.
Guy actually moves pretty well for a big fella...
@jtshoopsblog LOVE that nickname! "The Fantastic Four"!!! I will be stealing... err... using that sometime in the future JT!!
Love your allocations of roles too. Steve Nash will be fantastic indeed, Kobe's gonna torch teams, Pau at times might be completely invisible - and Dwight Howard is going to be a complete beast!Well done sir.
I've heard he's very close to signing with LA...
@CollegeWolf @WithMalice Makes you wonder.
Want an addition for you & your mob of conspiracy theorists? Lakers D12 jerseys are available NOW in the NBA store...
