How did Trenton's visit to AU go? Have Ya'll heard anything? I live in Lee Co so I really want that Albany kid at UGA. I wish old Boogah Sealy was still around. He would have that kid at Athens for sure.

When a car hits a cow the owner is the cow is liable. There were two local farms across the road from each other in this area. One farm raised pure bred herfords while the other bred Black Angus cattle. A car struck a cow and was totaled, fortunately the driver wasn't injured but the poor cow was killed. One of the farmers told the state trooper that the cow must have come from"across the road."The trooper said" Sir I am not a farmer like you and I certainly don't know as much about cows as you do but that billboard over there says pure bred black angus cattle for sale and has a picture of a big old black bull on it. Sir, this cow is red!" The farmer had to confess that the cow just might be his.

@66DAWGnNC @ecdawg If they use the short passing game then the deep ball is not as important. Mason doesn't seem to have the arm for the back shoulder throw but if they suck everybody in close then there is a chance at the deep ball by laying it out over the middle and letting Mitchel or JSW run under it. Let's face it, with Gurley back there the box is going to be loaded anyway. That's when you use Bennett and Conley along with Rome. Remember that Gurley has become an effective weapon in the passing game also. This team reminds me so much of the 49ers under Walsh. Now, if they find an O lineman like old Guy(DCD) they have a championship offense. If they use the right scheme. Let's see if Bobo fine tunes the O to suit Mason's accurate but not particularly strong arm.

@JaxDawg Moar HUNH plez. He seems more comfortable in multi-WR sets in a hurry up mode. Should spread the D and open lanes for the running game also. Mason must learn to "hurry slowly" as Wyatt Earp said one should do in a gun fight. If he learns a little patience and lets his receivers clear before checking down he can be very effective in the short passing game. I can see some variation of the west coast offense suiting Mason very well.

All I know is what I read in the papers, or the blogs (sorry Will). My pick to excel in this years class is Chub. I like the way that kid runs with the football. He has good vision, good body lean and leg drive. Most important of all he runs with heart. He will not be denied. What ever one does should be done with one's whole heart, and that is the way Chub runs with a football.

@Bulldawg Bob2 @shane#1 UF has won national titles in BBall and football. There is no reason UGA can't do the same with the backing of the Administration and the fans. There are a lot of good high school basketball players walking around in UGA gear that will play college hoops somewhere else. They will jump at a chance to play in Athens if given a reason to be there.

@Bulldawg Bob2 @South FL Dawg The problem begins with the Administration. I am reminded of the Bear's answer when asked why he left UK after putting their football program on a winning track. He told about an awards dinner after giving the Wildcats a winning season after years of losing. "They gave me a gold watch" Bear said,"and they gave old Adolph a new Cadillac.I knew then that their hearts weren't in football." I don't think UGA's heart is in basketball. I thought that they screwed up by not hiring Bobby Knight. He may be a big jerk, but he would have put that BBall program in the national spotlight for the first time since Wilkins was there.

@rugbydawg79@TheGod@shane#1 I agree, lets give the guy a chance, besides, off season kool-aid taste pretty good to me. One more thing, do ya'll think the targeting rules were overly stressed last fall camp? Williams looked like a different player in season than the kid that was bustin' heads in the spring. I once saw him turn and take a hit from a wR rather than deliver the blow. That can get a man injured. It is always better to be the Hammer than the nail. [Obscure Fred Williamson reference.]

This type of defense is what I expected from Grantham. I want to see more pre snap movement by the LBs and DBs. I want different packages based on down and distance. I want disguised blitzes and zones. I really like zone blitzes, can I have some more please Sir?? I want more bump and run and more pressure on the QB. I know you want the best players on the field, but every D player on the roster was offered a slot for a reason, lets find out where their talents lie and give them a chance to shine on the field.

The best team won. More physical, faster, more aggressive and more heads up. UGA was whipped in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Yeah Gurley and Marshall being banged up didn't help, Murray played pretty well with little blocking but holding calls killed us. The guys were holding because they were beat. That DC for Clemson is damn good, coached rings around Grantham. He is worth that 7 figure salary.

@Bulldawg Bob2 @Axlrodes  True, but good RBs and QBs with a quick release and nimble feet can make an O line that is merely average look good. On the other hand, poor RBs and a QB that holds the ball too long can make a good O line look awful It's a team game.

. UGA has both a great QB and great RBs, along with good WRs and TEs. It's a team game.

Having 70 mill in reserve is a good problem to have. I presume the money is drawing interest, but when does that bankroll threaten UGA's non-profit status? I see Chuckdawg's point that one must be able to compete to maintain that edge. I know a local farmer that went broke because he was too frugal to buy the proper equipment and enough chemicals and fertilizer. He could not compete with the guys that reinvested their profits in more land and modern equipment. The big fish eat the little fish.

I was stunned by how much weight the Dawg's O line had lost. This and the number of good TEs and WRs the team is blessed with makes me think that we will see a lot more multiWR sets and spread formations this season.

My thoughts align with yours ECDawg. Let's face it, NCs are not a priority with the current UGa administration. I believe Mike Adams would love to stand at midfield and hoist a NC trophy before he sails off into the sunset, but as long as that football cash cow keeps producing that green milk the UGA top brass will keep on milking her. let's pull for the Dawgs, those kids are the important thing and they need us fans more than ever. In the future we should keep our expectations in line with reality.

Buck is tryin' to take yore job Paaaawwwwwwwlllllll!!!! Nothing to see here. Jay might need to hit the weights harder and work harder at his blocking. He is a red shirt freshman and that is one hell of a two deep on the front seven he is working against. Also they throw some blitz packages at you that you never see in high school. I would be more shocked if his blocking didn't need some work.

I wanted some multiple TE sets when the Dawgs had White and Charles. Line up in a two TE power set and then split one of those guys out. All Murray would have had to do would be to read the safeties to find mismatches.  There would have been so many ways to play with a DC's  head with those formations. This season I want to see some two back sets. UGa has 4 TBs that can play why not play two at a time?
