@ginidietrich Okay but drinks in June will have to be had via HangOut cause this redhead won't be there until July ;) I think the dates are July 25-28?? Whatever that Thu-Sun are. I would love to meet up Thursday night because I know the BlogHer stuff will be cranking Fri/Sat and I have a couple of Brand wine & dines as well. I just want to get back to my Lincoln Park stomping grounds :)
Like my dad always said.. 'you mess with the bull, you get the horns'... My heart stopped when I saw that. Everyone knows you have to have thick skin in this industry because people are going to disagree with you but to have someone publicly do that is unacceptable and unprofessional. If you're going to do that then you had BEST have ironclad proof that you're right. You did a great job, Yvette... hopefully it will never happen again but if it does, we'll be here for you then, too! I just hate that Josh's comments on that guys post weren't published, right @ginidietrich?? :)
Yes, yes, yes and yes. I agree with this 100%. I run into so many agencies who are so dishonest about their capabilities and yet they're able to sucker so many people. I know that we/I will ALWAYS win in the long run when we stick to our ethics, integrity, hard work and kick butt skills. Oh and humility. I've got some humble skillz as well ;)
Woot!!! Congrats. Getting ready to blast it from the #BWT page, too!
I want to just break out into a dance at the mall one day singing Sting and have someone record me.
@belllindsay That was my favorite part, too!!
@martinwaxman Thanks.. I try to keep it that way.. work hard and have fun seems to be a good mode for us :)
Great piece. I fully endorse the idea of drinking at 10. I have found that the more we have fun in the office and just randomly push out OUR use of marketing and social, the more our clients have fun with it. Funny how fun is so contagious isn't it? I even made Gini an unwilling particpant today when I was Vining as part of my blog post on ideas for writers block ;)
@ginidietrich @belllindsay Lindsay has a send button?? And Lindsay.. I professional plankers everywhere are cursing your name for that comparison.
My 14YO loves the Ryan Lochte show and it's AWFUL. Well, awful except for the fact that he's wicked hot. And that kid? None of my 3 girls were EVER like that. Said Kristen never.
I love mysterious people... the story that I create in my head is always better than reality.
OH! I struggle with this just in having TWO identities (@KristenDaukas and @4HensAndRooster).. I hate having to carry 2 lives but they really are 2 different audiences. Now I am thinking that I'd like to have a completely anonymous blog or pen name to put the stuff that I REALLY want to say and don't want family to see. Sigh.
@Shonali @KristenDaukas @annedgallaher @kfreberg Yes. Dead serious about the panel. I"m not the kind of girl that blows sunshine, trust me ;)
@margieclayman I apologize - I wasn't saying that "you" were, but there are so many people that judge others way too harshly on how they do social media. I agree with you 100% that what Guy did was wrong but I still am not sure if it was even him . He doesn't tweet for himself. However, regardless of WHO tweeted it, it was a bad move and "he's" definitely taking a lashing for it today.
I don't think any of us should judge any of us for any reason. The only issue that I had with people and their posts yesterday were when they tried to take advantage of the situation. I'm even okay with those that continued to post as they normally would once the initial reaction and follow up posts were sent. If an auto-tweet wasn't caught before it went out, it's not worthy of crucifixion.
And as for snubbing someone for their "lack" of followers. Shame on him but I think almost everyone knows that 99.9% of the tweets that come out of that account aren't him to begin with. There is nothing wrong with 1500 followers.. matter of fact - that's a good number. Not everyone is on Twitter because they are trying to be the next "him" ;)
I've seen it happen and am appalled by it. I'm a tough cookie so when they try it on me, they don't get very far. Then they learn not to do it to someone else when I'm around as I've been known to confront them when they try to do it to others. It doesn't matter how old the person is, the only way they stop is if you confront them and call them out on it.
@Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing @KristenDaukas @Joshua Wilner/A Writer Writes We used to go there and Rosa's all the time. Let the tourists have Kingston Mines ;) Although I would take the mines right about now..
@Joshua Wilner/A Writer Writes Leroy was my hero. And he could play a mean guitar. Just like Buddy Guy. And Buddy's bar is NOT on the north side of chicago. ;)
@Joshua Wilner/A Writer Writes You're totally voted off the Happy Kristen Island. Go, Go, White Sox.
@NancyCawleyJean It was a great post and kudos to you for being so diligent to be happy. It's a good place to be :)
