Man, that would be so cool to have something like that here in the States! It's just me and my boys here, and I need to do better at budgeting for our meals, especially healthy ones! Those Yorkshire puddings look delicious and that dessert my boys and I would devour!

@cmajaski @moondustwriter @DanielIeBishop I agree that this post isn't meant for all bloggers making money, BUT, I take offense that Leslie is "disgusted" that we are making money. She hasn't read every mom blogger and while some don't have amazing writing abilities, they may have other skills that makes what they do worth money to companies that pay them. Are there crappy bloggers in every niche? Heck yea! Leslie, bring a writer, should have put more thought into the words she used, because I think she was rude!

@moondustwriter I'm sorry you feel that way. I suppose I should get out of the tribe with Bruce Sallan if what I do disgusts you so much. I feel that what I do is valuable and as a single mom I try to find ways to make working outside the home part time less of a burden by making money at home.

Hooray, I make money blogging! But dang it, getting a "free" Kayak and giving one away doesn't rate high because I do giveaways. For me, it's been a process of learning the ropes and finding the right ones to grab on to. Finding a balance in blogging about "personal" stuff as a blogger will become more important to me as I move out of state and friends keep up with me. I'll be glad to do less r&gs, but I have to say, I do like getting paid good $ for what I do on my blog. =)

Been there, done that, have a 2nd twitter account for this very reason. Twitter jail is a pain in my hind end! I've been put in Twitter jail from 15 minutes to almost an hour and a half. It's never been overnight, but that's not the point. I've never, that I know of, hit my 1000 tweets in a day limit. That would take 10 twitter parties that I end up in jail in each time to reach that limit if I'm understanding that correctly.

I don't have my own laptop so I'd love to find one of those under my Christmas tree. Of course I'd have to buy it, so it wouldn't be a surprise...and no one else would get presents. I'd rather have a Rockwell Drill/Driver preferably 18v Lithium because they have a free lifetime battery replacement. Just sayin'. For #11 I'd prefer to be AT a game than just tossing around a football or have a large flat screen tv so I could have friends over to watch a game. Surround sound would be handy! See you guys tomorrow night!

I'm not in Marketing, or SEO, or anything like that. I simply blog. I love #usguys for the friendships. Being able to do a tweet-up with @sumnermusolf and @libbytalks, and @bradspy within a week of joining was stellar. Then @ImMarkBernhardt and @libbytalks and I were able to do another tweet-up. Making these kinds of friendships is why I love #usguys and being part of this group. @997dave and @rickietyler have been fun to connect with in this group and to support with their endeavors. If someone needs some SoMe help and I can change my avi or vote for their cause, or donate even a small amount, THAT'S what I can give of myself on Twitter and it helps me to feel like I'm part of something bigger than myself.

Being I'm not from around these parts, I don't have any mad BBQing skills. =( I want to learn how to cook a good steak and to make it so my burgers don't shrink down to the size of 50 cent pieces. Isn't this what we're looking for as customers? If there's an issue, someone will listen to us, accept what we say AS an issue and be willing to deal with it? This is a perfect example of how a company should respond! Thanks for sharing the positive.

2 years, 9 months ago on A Company Who Did It Right – VIA Rail

I think policies can be a catch-22. We have a few in place to help us keep customers from returning items that they have had a hand in breaking (or what-have-you). There's a procedure that has to be followed. Unfortunately, the store goes around the policy and we end up eating the cost. Internally we have policies for policies and these policies keep being updated and re-written and some are just ridiculous and have no bearing on how I do my job. I'm required to wear underwear to work? Really? Someone has to be told this? I digress... Policies are vital for the company and the customers because they can be beneficial to both.

Ok, I'll let you walk beside me cuz if you walk in front of me I may kick you in the tush!Let's go thru them shall we? 1) True, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. 2) I absolutely LOVE a funny man. One of my favorite qualities! 3) Just...ick, 4) I have a few pairs of shoes, I'll give you that 5) I'm more like the dudes in this category. Don't take me in public, there I said it. 6) After 4 kids, I do like a bit of privacy when in the privy 7) I might resemble this one as well 8) I prefer a tall, cold glass of milk, but if I did drink it'd be a strawberry daiquiri 9) I have no idea 10) You will learn by my tweets that I ADORE talking. talk talk talk talk talk 11) sports should be watched on a huge HDTV in my opinion. I prefer NFL and MLB. My first year in a Fantasy Football league and I'm loving it. I think I'm in 2nd. I'll be tweeting thru the @VikingsFootball game tomorrow against KC. Both are 0-3. Need i say more to this point? 12) Ok, I do like Dr. Phil because he doesn't put up with anyone's crap. I have occasionally watched a Hallmark Channel movie and during Christmas (yep I said the whole word and didn't shorten it to Xmas or call it a "holiday" pfffttht politically correct) I can cry during their commercials, but I'd rather watch The Mentalist or The Amazing Race.

I did a post in a similar vein to this last month I believe (I won't post the link here b/c I don't want to seem like I'm trying to "link" up with you), but here are a few people I typically don't follow on Twitter: people who only RT things from other people and rarely send out anything unique, people who only have Twitter for giveaways, and spammers. I'm not concerned if they have over 300 followers or 3000 followers. I want to know how they engage the people they follow. If there's no engagement, then it seems there's no purpose in following them. There are no original thoughts. I can see from scrolling down someone's first Tiwtter page to know if I'll be following them, blocking them or reporting them. Those are pretty much the 3 choices I use. I will sometimes not follow someone and watch their stream for a while. If it seems spammy, I'll block them and be on my merry way. Thanks for your thought!
