Funny. I hear so much about bacon. My kids have been asking for it lately, too. I made a corn chowder with bacon last night. It really is something, isn't it! LOL! Sometimes I forget.
Congrats on a great month!!
@PaulBiedermann My mom called me after she read the post. She thought it was wonderful and very generous of Stan. Can you imagine if you asked for The 100 Most? LOL!
@biggreenpen @BetsyKCross HAHA! ....and you never have to worry with me, Paula! I think any and all reactions to the potatoes are funny!
@biggreenpen LOL! I wonder what that reaction was?! HA! Probably very similar to mine when I was asked to paint them! It was so worth it though. My kids love them. Everyone who sees them smiles. The MOST fun is when they start sprouting. I saw a picture of Stan's son's potato. Johnny was sprouting from the mouth! It was sooo funny. Creepy, too. Some grew halos -Mother Theresa, of all people!
@wonderoftech I know! I want to be a potato, too. You mak a beautiful one!
@Mark_Harai Isn't it hilarious?! Thanks, Mark!! Your face would look great on a potato, too!
@Harleena Singh @BetsyKCross @BruceSallan No, really! This made mine!
This is sooo fun! Stan has an amazing mind to come up with this idea! Ken Mueller changed his profile picture on Facebook to his potato! FYI, anyone can use their portraits anywhere they like. I want to see them everywhere. They make me smile! Thanks for posting!
You got me laughing. I have no idea why.
I don't know wht to say except thank you.
Old writing to me is like a journal to me. I can see who I was in a different time and place, and how I expressed myself. I don't like any of it, really. Most of it makes me cringe. Problem is that my present writing is getting older, too, and I'm rereading it saying to myself," Huh?"
Thanks, Katie! I'm definitely one who needs to take a look at how to make time for social media AND make my contribution meaningful for me and others!
You sold me! Love it.
the first one!
I'm so sorry, Brian - for you and for her. If I could help I would, but I know nothing about computer design / art, etc. I know someone will show up and help you for free!!
I think I'll have to stow away this post for future reference. It's jam-packed with goodies. In the meantime....I'm keeping my day job and writing stuff on the side. Publishing is serious work!
Yay! More chicken dancing I hope! I'm screaming for you! LOL!
I know what you mean about people / friends. I've learned that I CAN do anything, but I WILL do everything when I have a friend to share the journey. I need someone to laugh and to have aventurs with, vn if they're just taking pictures or listening to what I've done without them there. People are everything.
Men do a lot of dancing when they're happy. I just scream!
Changing anything up helps me. When I started painting potatoes I got really happy...I hadn't worked on any artwork for sooo long! I think that whatever stimulates another part of our brains out of dormancy (?) or deep sleep is good. I always love a good laugh and animal videos are perfect for that. My kids and I watched a "Cat Compilation" from Youtube yesterday and we died laughing!
I'm very visual. I prefer reading that sparks my imagination. But if I'm learning something, a video is better because my mind tends to wander and I would have to reread instructions carefully and that's a bummer.
I think there's a place for both.
Blogger I think have to do more story-telling - relating what they do in business (or whatever reason they have a blog) in a real-to-life way that allows the reader to feel like they could be a part of the story/situation so that they can SEE their problem solved vs. have it explained to them. It makes a difference to me when I can put myself in someone else's "shoes" and FEEL the circumstances and results of choices, etc.
Great questions!
