My latest conversation: Why you need yourname@yourdomain.com as an email address
@MackCollier Maybe one thing you could do for the second edition is split it into things that would work for small businesses, and another for larger brands. Even better, you can write another version of the book that specializes in small business. I believe Likeable Media did that with their new book...
First off, never say that something will be the end of computer viruses. Hackers always find a way around even the most secure of systems. Case in point, if the user was logged into their email or social accounts, chances are vSentry would not prevent spread to those network. That being said, this is downright impressive. We could essentially use this to create virtual PCs on a much grander scale.
My latest conversation: There’s a stigma associated with being a Freelancer...Overcome it!
I get the feeling this law was originally designed to keep people from hacking into their work computers. Still, this law is in serious need of editing.

I'd like to add one more thing to this post: Constantly bragging about how great your life is.
On the flip side: Constant complaining is annoying too.

I agree. I think Cook's apology is a sign that Apple is under much more mature command.

@danielmclark @patrickallmond How does Youtube's auto-transcription thing work? If you can set that up it might help.
My latest conversation: Could the Samsung Note be Android's answer to the iPod Touch?
@danielmclark For entertainment, I do watch the whole thing. But that's just it...I'm watching to be entertained, not to learn something. And yes, totally with you with the videos on working things like Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Audacity; what could be said with one paragraph and a screenshot takes 5-7 minutes with video, and that's if listening conditions (voice, sound, display, etc) are optimal!
My latest conversation: Could the Samsung Note be Android's answer to the iPod Touch?
I prefer neither. Like you said, video takes way to long to produce, and on the viewer side of things, I can't digest content quickly by skipping to what I need to know, unless I know EXACTLY where the content I need is...and usually, I don't. Audio has the same problem. I don't learn well from hearing or seeing; by reading it instead, I can learn better by executing it myself...even if only in my head.

Wanted to bring an interesting fact into this that I thought was relevent: The Republican National Convention garnered 4 million tweets for the entire convention. The DNC has 3 million tweets...on its first day.
Would you say it's a sign that democrats are more connected in social media than republicans?

I find that asking questions is the most important part of doing work as a freelancer; if you don't ask questions, you can't get the intricate details that make your projects rock. Seems like one should never say "Here's what I can do for you." We should ask "What do you need from me/us?" Instead.
My latest conversation: Are content aggregator tools really that useful?
@prosperitygal I landed a website copy contract through someone who recommended me on LinkedIn and saw my answers on there. Made it clear I knew what I was doing, apparently.

There is no better network than LinkedIn for trying to find a job. It essentially works as both an online resume and a networking tool. If you're a freelancer like myself, finding a way to get contacts and possibly even new clients. The groups section could use a little work, in my opinion, but I find that LinkedIn allows me to interact with others in the way Facebook lets me talk with friends.
As for businesses, LinkedIn would be great for businesses wanting to work with each other, or for finding a way to outsource something. And of course, for finding a helpful freelancer.

@JenAnnHall There should be a link at the bottom of the emails that lets you unsubscribe from the conversation.

Why Walmart? UGH. And I was hoping I could get my hands on some Android power for a fraction of the price too. :(

I caught a couple people with more than 40% fake followers (Names will remain confidential to protect my bank account.) I think at that level it's clear they're deliberating inflating their numbers. As for me, I can proudly say I have 0% Fake, 5% Inactive and 95% real. :)

I'm guessing the instructors were already picked for these classes. Any info on who they are?
