OBVIOUSLY you need to get some lederhosen to go with those socks. Duh.
The fact that you dressed (<<< haw haw) an inherently tender issue like vulnerability in such banalities is pretty fuqing awesome. I hope to see you being very awkward indeed dancing at the NonCon partay. Aim for that sensation you get when you're sitting on a public toilet in a stall and you discover there's no door. People can actually see you pooping. It's "cummerbund"...no?
I'm offended by this. Not really.
Some one had to say it out loud, thanks for taking it on.
@margieclayman Yaaaaa @Amy Vernon @Deborah Weinstein @mila and @josepf !
Adding the bit that livefyre cut out:
I'm glad we had a chance to talk for real, as opposed to Hi-here's-my-card-Bye.
Tumbleweeds in the men's room I love it! Cool blog bro. Gonna hafta stalk you right back =]
"Honesht oshiffer, @Klout made me *hic* order *hic* all thish vino."
I'm just gonna dive into the mine field and say that I would never dye or pluck my white hairs. Young looking hair on an aging face looks weird to me. Other than that, I guess I'm obsessively wacky about those fuzzballs you get on sweaters. I want to pull them off even on strangers. I love it. Cool blog bro. Stay away from my silver streak.
I believe customers want to FEEL cared for as much as BE cared for. As for maximizing the medium to show competence in the tweetstream beyond customer's complaints, a story: I had an issue with Fedex earlier this week, which I dealt with by phone. My experience with the Fedex person was excellent, so much so that I tweeted about it and hashtagged #fedex #custserv. I was actually surprised that they didn't pick up on it to RT.
Great article.
@Milaspage @susanborst Mila I appreciate what you wrote about me. And FYI the drawing is called "I love my Twitter fans!"
My followers get a real mix from me, in terms of content - my topics vary. But I do try to find common ground with others. I don't differentiate between personal and professional, since I'm engaging as a personality. Having said that I believe the tone of my "voice" (what you call the Art of Being You) will modulate depending on what I'm engaged in and with whom. Being anything other than genuine would be too much effort and totally pointless for me.There is a strong line beyond which I do not share with the public. For example the Twitter Striptease you cited naturally flowed into an avalanche of humorous chatter and new followers. The language was playful and never crude, so it attracted only the kind of tweeps I wanted - those who love to laugh! What a great article, such an important subject @Milaspage , thank-you for writing it.
Hope to see you all there - I'm proud to be a part of this event. It will be sublime!
@Milaspage I'm impressed with not only the spectacular speaker line-ups, but also with the way you are laying them out. World class Mila.
A few winters ago, I was coming up Berri in rush hour traffic. It was so icy and slippery - it took 45 minutes to do the one block hill up to Sherbrooke. My tires were fine, winter tires with very little slipping. Even so I had to take care. But I'd say half the people on the hill were not in control, that's why it took so long, waiting for others to move forward. One young woman just spun and spun and spun her wheels. We all had to go around her!
I finally know what you were talking about when you told me about MeetMeMe cards lol!Well, as you know, I got some cards done for The Animated Woman just before the 140conf tweetup and handed some out there. They're a little bit 'animated' and seemed to go over well enough. I think the QR code is great, and roughly half the people I gave them to have reached out to connect with me on Twitter. I did a little vlog about it http://www.theanimatedwoman.com/2011/12/qr-codes-and-stuff.html !So I completely agree, cards with a face on them make a stickier connection, and the QR code saves time and makes a seamless jump from real life to the net!
The way #UsGuys was born and snowballed quickly into a living breathing entity, gathering energy and meaningfulness dynamically with every new connection...it was alive! I was sad when I noticed it begin to fragment and decay.
But then I realized that it wasn't dying, it was dividing and multiplying, giving birth to new entities, new meaning, new connections, new magic.
So it seems to me.
Done! Thanks for the opportunity to give in this way.
