@markwschaefer It's an awesome show. But who is that guy Tom that keeps crashing the party ?
Agree with you here Ken: definitely. However, one thing I've come around to is reducing the number of social link icons on client sites as well as my own. We've been tracking a lot of data and the links have a tendency to send people away. It's like that's the sole engagement they take. From a business point of view we need to be getting people deeper into the sales funnel. Signing up to email lists, filling out forms, requests for contact. That's how a site really starts to work.
It's all well and good to get people to the site but it's actually getting them to take the key actions. These are the strategies we need to work hardest with if a site is going to be a really important part of marketing collateral.

Michelle is an absolute darling. She's smart, thoughtful and one of those people who makes you smile with a tweet here, a facebook comment there, a gentle word of encouragement when you need it. Good on you Jayme for highlighting one of my favourite people on the interwebs.
Michelle rocks !

@jennwhinnem In the words of Smokey, I second that emotion. Jamie is such a smart, wonderful lady. One of my favourite guests on my podcast of all time. Oh, along with a couple of other ladies I know of course _=)

I am so with you on this one Jayme. Jenn is awesome, and one of the most beautiful folks in our community. I first discovered Jenn when getting to know you and you guys have become a really important part in my journey both online and as a thinker. I don't think I would have written my own Happy post for you if it hadn't been the candour in which Jenn showed, sharing her own journey.
Love you guys.

Super difficult ! I would say, having read it, that you should definitely not underprice it because this is incredibly valuable info. It's not like a fiction book: it's a book that will help companies' bottom line.
But also see that it could be a spring broad to you actually helping someone with this service. So don't make too much of a barrier to purchase.

@WesleyWiley Good to hear it! I personally find that the Friday show is always the one that does best in terms of traffic and engagement. Using Stitcher's stats I can see that not as many people listen all the way through Mon-Th, but Friday-Sun it's a much better rate. Probably listening whilst they cut the grass :=9

@rdopping @Soulati | Hybrid PR @suddenlyjamie Thanks my friend. I really appreciate your words of encouragement. Consider the woofs scratched! I've just got back from the movies and they've scoffed some salmon, carrots and a bit of chicken ! They are spoiled rotten.

@Mark_Harai @jonbuscall Thanks Mark. I appreciate your friendship and support.
@Mark_Harai Mark, Thank you so much my friend. I love the positivity and energy of your response. I hope that by sharing my story it will encourage others to take heart, but also try and remove some of the taboos about things like bipolar and manic depression.
Thanks for all you do !
@jennwhinnem We all need angels from time to time :=)
@Soulati | Hybrid PR @jonbuscall Thanks J. XX
@RyanKBiddulph I'm doing good, thanks ! Very best wishes,
@JenKaneCo Hey, that's awesome!! Friend me on FB, if you like, and you'll see plenty of pics of the woofs
@Soulati | Hybrid PR You're SO welcome. I think it's important to be open about things like this. If we're not open and trusting we'll never educate people and help them to help change their minds.

I think it really comes down to writing itself. Crafting your way with words, whether you're a novelist, a blogger, or a journo, makes you a writer. You're striving to put a word after a word and a word. And that's power.
All writing is power. And bloggers are powerful!

As for passwords, I didn't know about stories. I've been using 1password for a couple of years now to generate all these bizarre looking passwords. The app remembers for me.
(BTW: since the newsletter got so awesome with regular posts sent to my email I find my way winging back to join in the site and conversation. It's a great device ! )
Good for you, Neicole. It's so important to take a stand. As a Swede/Brit I just can't understand US gun law.

@Danny Brown You're spot on here Danny. Definitely. It's a bit like "engagement" really. There's a lot of talk about the "e" word and like passion, it's not something you can fake until you make it.
Passion also needs time to be rekindled.

Hey Dustin, Yes! I have a stand up desk. They're very popular here in Sweden because IKEA do a great range of them available over here. I got one to help with my back last December and it's made a huge difference to my bac kand posture. I also feel more energetic. I didn't build up my strength or anything. Just started standing all day from the first day I got it. Sure, I eat lunch sitting down but whenever I'm in the office I'm standing. One tip is to get a gel mat to stand on. It helps.

This is such an important post and one that really resonates with me. I like working as part of a team of two or three, managing the whole project, but I can see that it's incredibly reliant on myself AND very difficult to grow. Now I'm going to go away and worry :=)

@ginidietrich @Danny Brown Build it on Genesis! It's great code and has the SEO built in including Google Author, custom titles, descriptions and the whole shebang really. It also plays really nicely with the Premise plugin which is great for landing pages because you can marry it with Google Analytics experiments to test what converts better.

@Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing @AnnHawkins @Danny Brown No problem! You should definitely follow Ann on Twitter and join her LInkedIn group. She's got wonderfully analytical eye. Do check out the podcast interview I did with Ann if you haven't heard it. It's one of my favourites. http://jontusmedia.com/why-linkedin-is-the-most-important-social-site-for-your-business/
@AnnHawkins @Danny Brown Part of the reason I love Twitter is the immediacy of it all. My heart sank when I started hearing all this SEO benefits about G+ recently.
For me the bottom line is engagement and building relationships. RIght now it works on Twitter and through talking to people on my podcast.
@Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing @AnnHawkins Thanks Ann, and Thanks Jayme. I guess I've not really embraced G+ enough. I feel duly chastised @Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing :=) Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
@AnnHawkins @Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing Awesome comment Ann. I agree there's no one best platform for any aspect of digital marketing / communications. I think you have to identify your goals and then look at the tactics / channels you can use. And then evaluate, of course and reposition if necessary. I dropped Facebook after a year for my business because it didn't feel right. I've found Twitter and podcasting to work best for me.
@Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing Thanks for sharing your perspective in more detail. I'm not so sure about how you see LinkedIn. My pal @annhawkins is a very successful consultant and uses a LinkeIn group to great effect. I see the same kind of energy there and engagement.
I'm only just beginning to explore what G+ has to offer so posts like this encourage me to delve deeper.
Super useful post for newbies. It's maybe worth pointing out that a plugin like Pretty Permalinks lite will help folks too to create shorter, easily remembered urls for those occasions when you need one.
2 years ago on How to Write an SEO Friendly URL
I think this is an interesting and timely post Jayme, not in part because I've been sucked into various discussions on G+ in the last few days.
My question to you though is in what way do you see G+ of value to companies, as the title of your post suggest. Do you see it having something more than LinkedIn or Twitter ?
@Danny Brown This is one of the things getting me interested in the possibilities actually. Quite a lot of podcasting talk going on there. I got more discussion after sharing a blog post on G+ than on Twitter or my site.
@jennwhinnem I second that emotion Jenn. I find that even combining accounts is super buggy. In the end I settled on using different browsers for different accounts. Lame, I know.
I've not really got into G+ yet but I'm beginning to see more and more conversations going on there that interest me. But what business value these have, I am not sure.
Fascinating ! We only got our first Apple store with a Genius bar here in Sweden last year. Actually, at my local mall. It amazes me how this inspires people to come from all over the region to buy Apple from this particular store. Hitherto it's always been smaller retail stores or in the big chains.
I don't know how it would work with BMW here. Audi is the premium German brand that's most visible in the market. At least now I have an excuse to go and check on the BMW showrooms !

Happy Birthday Ralph! The 14th I was a zombie ! Had to take my wife to the airport at 4 AM !
What a great story about Lilly. Well, not great that her paw hurt, but GREAT that you have such a caring dog walker.
As you probably know I have four woofs here and I'm always happy when someone goes the extra mile for one of my bassets.
Big bones to Lilly and I hope you got a special treat too to celebrate your birthday.

@ShelleyPoole As high as poss. Apple will only serve up featured shows, albums, etc, if the art work is high-res because of the number of people using tablets and retina products now.

@ShelleyPoole The only figure I've heard is 1400 x 1600 but I can't confirm this. The official word is that square is the preferred choice.
Loved this ! Like Lori said: It's great to see something regular get such a pick up on the interwebs.
