I'm learning! thank you for continually brightening my days with your kind words. But soon I must come full circle and create more opportunities from it. Though I did just get a job offer from Gini 😂

I can put the cape back on. If I had a dollar for every like I had on instagram, I'd have almost 7 million dollars. Almost enough to afford Gini on retainer
I'm starting to feel rather unqualified reading your blog. Everyone is merging and acquisitioning and creating brand awareness and I'm all like I'm gonna go take more pictures now

You made a number of great points, Ann. Plus, it was articulated in a manner which was very easy to relate to. Thank you!

So, as someone who's been dubbed as an influencer, I'd be best served not sticking with a niche and look at making strong connections in other circles, yes? Or hmm, maybe even start a circle, per say, and align myself with others who specialize in different areas. Good read

I feel this is well timed for you to come into my life, blogotonically speaking. I have the ideas, the know how, and the desire to do what I should be doing but I continue to wait for something to happen. I ought to just go find it. Plus, I'm down to my college weight and gained a beard. That kinda has me pumped about life.

That's why so many people fail on instagram, IMO, because you're right. It's also why I think twitter is tuned out but I digress. Most IGers loathe salesy stuff... that's why they've abandoned the other platforms. Yet I still see marketers and social media "powerhouses" selling stuff or doing textgrams all day. You have to build trust with your audience there before touting your wares
On a separate note, I found out I am a millennial this year, but my whole life I thought I was Gen X. Talk about an identity crisis.

I hope your readers take this lesson to heart. It plays such a role in manifestation.
And side note, Instagram is effective at driving traffic to your blog... or maybe I was just scurred of your samurai said if I didn't click the link like you said to 😂

I needed this today, Gini, now I know how to go from self proclaimed unlisted influencer to an officially listed instafamous influencer. I probably won't need to do any searches because I just ask you all my tough questions. I know you'll be billing me soon, don't worry.

Great intro. Here's her at work, here's her at home. Here's her on Gini's blog... and you have to rock pretty hard to get a friday feature from G-Unit. I'll go show how good of a stealthy cyber stalker I can be. Oh wait, that sounds creepy. Ahh whatever. Happy friday, Crazies.

Gini, you're soooo right about this post being for me!! Mr. @Paul M Bowers definitely knows what he's talking about!!! It sounds like you'll be giving me a run for my instamoney in no time. Not that I'm a "pro" by any means, I just play one on Instagram, but the takeways you shared from his workshop should be read by all who want to improve their photo snapping swag. I made up a lil rhyme based on my old Football Coaches advices "If you're high, your pic will be crap; if you're low you'll deliver a good snap". Of course I've taken lots of pictures standing up, but many of my most popular shots have come from a lower vantage point because most everyone takes pictures at chest level! Not that I blog much anymore, but I've started producing logos and slides from my photos and everyone wow's over them. Believe it or not one of my best was from inside a yellow porta potty on a bright sunny day. I didn't even have to go, I just knew that the glowing plastic with those lines would turn out to be a wicked background for something. Wow - I've blabbered on for far too long. Great write-up and great guidance, Paul.

It doesn't work for people with MEGAPHONITIS WHO CONSTANTLY TELL YOU TO DO THIS AND THAT ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS. Engage me, don't sell me.
I was 5 for 5 thinking I'm da entrepreneurial bomb... still strong at 8/10. Then I pretty much stumbled to the finish line with 10 outta 17. I'm my own worst enemy. I've known you for approximately 532 days, 7 hours, and 32 minutes and you know I talk a good game. Obviously I suck at execution cuz the only thing I've scaled is a wall of frustration! Love this piece Gini D. That's why you pay you the big bucks!
1 year, 10 months ago on Scale-Up Entrepreneur: Do You Have What it Takes?
Thank you for admiting what people beat around the bush about. It's totally about making people feel validated and important. Who doesn't like to be affirmed? I remember the day you called me the smartest person in the world and that I was incredibly good looking. I'd run through a wall for you, now! Oh what's that... you didn't say that? Must have been someone else, but still, you really are the smartest person I know (that's named Gini). Seriously, you are. And when people ask me about examples of community - I point them here. I've maintained a relationship with more than a dozen folks I've met right here on Spin Sucks. That, my friends, is priceless.

Hey - I guess you could hire me after all, I can do a few of those things you mentioned :)
Besides, my secret weapon is when I untuck my shirt and tug down at my pants so you see the waistband of my boxers. It's pretty irresistable, I mean it works .67% of the time all the time. Ok, it doesn't work at all. Screw finacial services, I'm ready to be a stripping PR pro!!

1 year, 10 months ago on Three Data Points to Measure Your Blog Efforts
Dear SM ROI experts... you can't calculate the return on investment for someone who goes to your store or ends up buying something on your site because they like your social media swag but didn't directly respond to your link. Sometimes you have to be more like Rainman than Pythagoras when it comes to measuring intangible results.

1 year, 11 months ago on Has Instagram become Pornstagram?
Great point! I've also thought about that but both of those pages you mentioned have posted selfies of their models that were submitted to them. I don't think they own those pics. Furthermore, if that rule were actually enforced, virtually EVERY shoutout page would need to be shutdown. Take the chive's site for example, those are submitted by the girls pictured. There's no ownership there. That section of the terms is in place to deter folks ripping off other people's work and passing out off as their own, IMHO. Regardless, does it mean it's ok to violate other terms if you own the picture?
I suppose that's debatable. But with a network dominated by teenie boppers, I'm of the opinion that pics showing intercourse & what not isn't appropriate. There's other places for that
Agreed, you are the best, Lindsay! (just don't tell Gini I said that)

I'm not gonna go MIA again, superhero's honor
You've missed me, I could feel the love in that "brat!"
I can't keep up with this rapid fire response on my mobile... I don't think it's wrong, either, your work speaks for yourself. On the other hand, I'm of the belief that needy people like me are more apt to comment if they're validated or engaged with. It's how Gini won my heart, even though she's really mean
And Gini, for Tony's sake, do an IG contest I can participate in. I'm tempted to buy a pet just to meet Mitch but I can't bring myself to do it!
Ohhhh score! I finally come back home and it's a live tweet with 5 minutes to spare. I don't have time to read everyone's Q's so I'll provide an alternate in case it's been asked.
Generally speaking, why don't you reply to comments on your blog?
(Alt) In the last 2 years, who has had the most influence on you and/or has helped you stay ahead of the ever changing digital marketing game?
Good, so I'm not delusional here lol
Good points, Gini, you even over-delivered with an eighth tip!! Alternatively, you could always change your name to a famous person like me then no one will be able to find you... unless they've circled you on google +. See, I'm backing up your argument - there's really no reason I should be on first page google search for Tony Bennett... but I am for the couple thousand who have me circled!

Man, I'm disappointed you didn't that new word I taught you, twas a perfect opportunity haha! Joking aside, I could read your take on influence marketing for hours. I don't know if it's the publicly displayed scores contributing to anti-scoring as much as being able to "give" influence to people with plussies and what not. Influence is earned, not given. As for the hidden scores, it's interesting and all, but as they say you don't know what you don't know. Sounds good for big biz and brands but the people won't know or care what's going on behind the scene. Enjoyed this, Sam.

This is so wild; sometimes I think I live under a rock because I didn't hear anything of this until I came to my primary newssource - spin sucks. Oh wait, I do live under an instarock, that explains it.
As for future rogue Arment Dietrich staffers, I'm sure dozen's have already pointed the finger at Lindsay, so there's no need to pile on.
