Dear SM ROI experts... you can't calculate the return on investment for someone who goes to your store or ends up buying something on your site because they like your social media swag but didn't directly respond to your link. Sometimes you have to be more like Rainman than Pythagoras when it comes to measuring intangible results.

Really solid points, appreciate you adding your perspective! Thanks

Great point! I've also thought about that but both of those pages you mentioned have posted selfies of their models that were submitted to them. I don't think they own those pics. Furthermore, if that rule were actually enforced, virtually EVERY shoutout page would need to be shutdown. Take the chive's site for example, those are submitted by the girls pictured. There's no ownership there. That section of the terms is in place to deter folks ripping off other people's work and passing out off as their own, IMHO. Regardless, does it mean it's ok to violate other terms if you own the picture?

I suppose that's debatable. But with a network dominated by teenie boppers, I'm of the opinion that pics showing intercourse & what not isn't appropriate. There's other places for that

Agreed, you are the best, Lindsay! (just don't tell Gini I said that)

You've missed me, I could feel the love in that "brat!"

I can't keep up with this rapid fire response on my mobile... I don't think it's wrong, either, your work speaks for yourself. On the other hand, I'm of the belief that needy people like me are more apt to comment if they're validated or engaged with. It's how Gini won my heart, even though she's really mean

And Gini, for Tony's sake, do an IG contest I can participate in. I'm tempted to buy a pet just to meet Mitch but I can't bring myself to do it!

Ohhhh score! I finally come back home and it's a live tweet with 5 minutes to spare. I don't have time to read everyone's Q's so I'll provide an alternate in case it's been asked.
Generally speaking, why don't you reply to comments on your blog?
(Alt) In the last 2 years, who has had the most influence on you and/or has helped you stay ahead of the ever changing digital marketing game?

Good points, Gini, you even over-delivered with an eighth tip!! Alternatively, you could always change your name to a famous person like me then no one will be able to find you... unless they've circled you on google +. See, I'm backing up your argument - there's really no reason I should be on first page google search for Tony Bennett... but I am for the couple thousand who have me circled!

Funny, when I read your version, I thought "wow, this is great, it's dripping with empathy!" then the next headline had it. Maybe we all of big biz should start retaining you... Not sure why they haven't already!

I'm almost a regular but haven't had the honor of meeting your crush, I've heard many glowing things about Andy. Hopefully, one day, I can develop a mancrush on him, too! Wait, no, that's not what I meant...

@HowieG @ginidietrich I like where you're going, we'll call it spinnable... Cuz that sounds better than suckable

Man, I'm disappointed you didn't that new word I taught you, twas a perfect opportunity haha! Joking aside, I could read your take on influence marketing for hours. I don't know if it's the publicly displayed scores contributing to anti-scoring as much as being able to "give" influence to people with plussies and what not. Influence is earned, not given. As for the hidden scores, it's interesting and all, but as they say you don't know what you don't know. Sounds good for big biz and brands but the people won't know or care what's going on behind the scene. Enjoyed this, Sam.

This is so wild; sometimes I think I live under a rock because I didn't hear anything of this until I came to my primary newssource - spin sucks. Oh wait, I do live under an instarock, that explains it.
As for future rogue Arment Dietrich staffers, I'm sure dozen's have already pointed the finger at Lindsay, so there's no need to pile on.

I thought there'd be a chance I'd know everyone on your list, but I'm excited to see a few names I don't recognize. I absolutely second the nominations of Michelle, the Kelly's, and Stephanie - they are great at what they do, no doubt. Looking forward to checking out the others very soon. And I'm sure someone else already said it, but you certainly deserve to be on a list like this too :)

I hate superheroes.... but I LOVED this post. You were at your sarcastic, ranting best and I ate up every word of it. I've always maintained that pitching is an art, not a science, but I would highly recommend integrating your scientific formulas. Oh and happy birthday you hammerhead you

Better late than never!!! I made it before the clock struck 4pm CST. Now that I'm here, you're right Gini, I feel rather inadequate. Justttttt kidding, because I can't begrudge the greatness in others and I look forward to mingling with the "already sweet enough" Elissa :)
