@MostJadedGamer It's truly sad that Perkins has become a punchline for the TNT guys and is trending on twitter as being so terrible, yet he still makes nearly $9 million next season. Even at the league minimum he shouldn't be on the floor.

Truly the worst write-up I've seen on this site. Perk and Ibaka are overwhelmingly the reason the game was lost. Just take a look at their backcourt vs. ours. Gasol is averaging 22/7.5/4 on 59.3% shooting in two games after averaging 17/7.5/3.3 on 46.6% shooting in the prior series. I thought Perkins was supposed to be a good defender. If not, why on Earth is he in the game? He's been so abysmal on offense that he's been a huge negative. Several turnovers, dropped passes, cannot finish. I feel terrible that Durant has to play alongside him. How often does he set him up with a great pass only to see it dropped or not finished. If he comes back next season, Presti has clearly lost it. He's such a liability and holding this team back.

Are you seriously asking why Reggie Jackson isn't getting more looks for Martin? It's pretty simple, he's not a PG. Sure, he's short and fast and quick, but that doesn't make him a PG. He rarely ever looks to faciliate the offense and mostly looks to attack which isn't a bad thing until you compound the fact that OKC really needs a PG without Russ out there. The way the roster is constructed, it needs to be Durant initiating the offense and bringing it up the court. They can't deny him the ball and when they double he can find open guys.

@Landstander @shorthorns4 Ibaka? What types of shots do you expect him to get? Thabo? If you have confidence in him making a lot of clutch shots, we can't even have a conversation.

@KD4theWin @nasama Then who takes over as SG? If they don't plan on re-signing him, why on earth did Jeremy Lamb not play more this season?

@Landstander The whole thing is just a rinse and repeat from last season when no one other than Westbrook or Durant showed up against the Heat. A lot of it's the system (or lack thereof) and a lot of it is the personnel. Does anyone really expect Martin, Thabo or Ibaka to make shots when it counts? I certainly don't. Time to surround the two All-Stars with quality shooters, ala Miami.

@f5alcon @shorthorns4 Dumb media. Anyone who can average 7-8 assists per game consistently is a PG in my book.

@f5alcon It's amazing that the organization doesn't have a single legitimate PG option besides Westbrook on the team. No, I don't count Jackson or Fisher as PGs merely because they are short. Neither has a game that remotely resembles a facilitator.

@propsizzle @Mr_posey It's really a shame that Lamb never got serious looks this season. He's potentially a huge part of next season. I think it will be a big mistake to bring Martin back. He seems to disappear way too often to make the kind of money that he will get. If Lamb had gotten serious looks, Brooks wouldn't hesitate to bring him in now.

@Steve H This. Perkins and Brooks need to go desperately. This will be the third straight postseason that Brooks has been outclassed as a coach.

@Tricia Status @d21 @shorthorns4 Yes of course we need a system, but I've given up hope of Brooks installing any type of system with interchangable parts years ago. Plus, it's not as if that would be installed overnight. Time to let KD be a point forward and live and die by it IMO.

@Tricia Status @shorthorns4 Fisher has never been a real PG, because he's always played in a triangle offense. Never really did much but bring the ball up the court, pass to Kobe and sit and wait for a 3-pointer. This is all a moot point if Westbrook isn't injured.

@tygablood @shorthorns4 Westbrook isn't necessarily a true PG but he's twice as good of a facilitator as Jackson. Again, this is more about the lack of guys who can create their own shots and not about Jackson who is a promising young player. The offense simply has to go through Durant handling the ball from this point forward IMO.

@Tricia Status @shorthorns4 Someone who can setup the offense and gets guys open shots. This team doesn't have many people that can create their own shot. A true PG would be able to get them the ball in their spots that they are the most effective in. Again, this isn't knocking Jackson. I wish we had him and Maynor, but if I had to choose, I would take Maynor with the absence of Westbrook. Also, we need a PG that can spread the floor and knock down open shots when given the opportunity from Durant double teams. Jackson is a horrific outside shooter (23% from 3 this year).

This is what happens when you don't have a true PG on the roster. As talented and improved as Jackson is, he's never going to be a true PG. This team would be better off with Maynor right now IMO because at least he could set the offense, tempo, etc. Instead, Jackson is a mini-Westbrook. That's not a knock on him, but this team has enough defensive minded, drive to the hoop type of players. It's in desperate need of a facilitator. Unfortunately, Durant is by far the best remaining player on the roster at that. For some reason, the Thunder got away from him bringing the ball up the court in the second half and it killed them. Well, that and allowing Perkins to play a single minute of the game.

@Steve H Agree completely. It's the same reason that Perkins needs to be amnestied next year. He is a good option against a few teams in the West, but his minutes cannot be trusted with Brooks. It's a shame that Lamb isn't playing more. Next year, we'll look back and be completely disappointed he didn't play more this season.

@FF_pickups  @Lost Ones If Martin isn't re-signed, Lamb will need to play a hell of a lot more than 12 minutes per game next season. More like 25 IMO. Team has to have a third scoring option.

It's truly amazing the limited minutes that Lamb has played this season when you consider how important he could be next year if the Thunder are unable or unwilling to re-sign Martin.

@Brob785 Of the four, I really wish Lamb were getting some run with the first or second units. His development will be crucial to next season if Martin doesn't return.
