Wawrinka-Tsonga matches have always been epic and physical. Hopefully this one will not disappoint.
Why is there a picture of Bernard hitting a ball on a hard court?
We will see how Rafa's return of serve is doing in the next round...
Andy. What an unusual name.
He's just not a very good player to be in the top 10. In late 2011 and 2012 he was on an absolute confidence high. He played a lot of ugly, poor matches, but won them by saving tons of break points. His game is pretty average baseliner, and is not to 10 level. Plus Garcia Lopez is a good player on clay, and does amazingly well in 3-setters.
"I always try to be aggressive when I play him. It's the only way for me. If I stay back, there's no way I can win," Tsonga said. "But I can't rush to the net either because otherwise he hits a passing shot, and 90 percent of the time I lose the point. So I have to have the right mix between patience and aggressiveness."
Well said, Jo! Exactly the frustration of every opponent playing Nadal. We'll see if Djokovic finds the balance between aggressiveness and patience tomorrow as he has done in the past.
Nieminen will beat Djokovic, make no mistake about it.
Another great victory for the game of tennis. Murray's unmanly jerky forehand is not fit for the warrior clay court game
Good win over a quality opponent! Tsonga has been working on his point construction and it paid off!
Disappointing. With his great athletic skills, he would better at something like gymnastics:)
Also, he's the only player with a perfect record on clay so far this year
You should have included Tsonga. He's been working hard on his point construction on clay (see how patiently he destructed Monaco), he's a good slider, and he reached the Roland Garros Quarters last year where he should have beaten Djokovic.
I'm not sure about that, knowing the Serbian team they are probably "high" all the time
No one is ever sure what to expect out of The Fog. But he does seem to play his best in Bo5 sets, and on clay
He's right, but they should never say the other team is the favorite.
Serena already won her first match. 2 and 3 over Giorgi. I expect her to get better as she goes along, losing only about 8 or so games the entire tournament.
Yes, but those nice angled forehands make up for it...not really, Ferrer got the break.
I am losing respect for David. Stop the swearing, please
Eveyone has their off days, even Serena. I doubt anything like this will happen in a Grand Slam though.
