@TheGreatJB99 @Blasphemizer We don't know that...But, I do wish it was an 8 team playoff instead of 4 so that we could've had questions like that answered...

I'd like to remind the bored that even though the tOSU v OU result may have raised some concerns about the long-term viability of Chip's strategic leanings, it was far from a battle of two diametrically opposed football philosophies...Chip Kelly and Urban Meyer have had considerable influence on one another...In fax, Urban was one of the very firss coaches Chip studied while coaching at New Hampshire and Meyer has recently come to Kelly to study his ways:

http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/20150112_Meyer_has_brought_some_of_Chip_Kelly_s_ideas_to_Ohio_State.html

Really, the two have somewhat of a football bromance...

So, take it easy folks...Helfrich, the direct protege of CK, may not have fulfilled his predecessor's legacy and validated our views on his ways...But he made it all the way to the National Championship only to be beaten by the head coach who was perhaps next most influenced by Kelly...I'm not sure how this can be construed so negatively...

@dutchrubb Oregon isn't soft...That's a stale narrative which is replayed every time a team finds success by relying on strategies that ostensibly require speed and/or finesse...This leads the talking heads to hypothesize that they must be using such strategies because they lack the attribute of overwhelming strength and/or toughness which would enable them to employ others which are assumed (perhaps very wrongly) to be naturally superior...Oregon got dommed at the LOS this game, yes, but one example does not a pattern make...

@dutchrubb I dunno how the fuck guys keep doing that...It happens to one dope every year and has huge consequences...Oregon should know since they benefited hugely against Utah when Kaelin Clay did it...

We should target Byron Maxwell in the offseason...He can take Brad Fletcher's place...Restructure Cary...Take care of the rest in the draff...

Chris Christie doesn't understand how to maintain his public image properly...If he were a real Presidential candidate, he wouldn't be caught dead looking like a goofy, out-of-touch, rich guy buddy of Jerry Jones...

I don't understand how the flag is picked up on that type of penalty...What happens?...Ref 1: I saw pass interference...Ref 2: No, you didn't...

My understanding is that there is a move forthcoming, but it doesn't involve the departure of either Kelly or Roseman.

@sunbutts The season's weakness was lack of a deep threat?...You're gonna have to try harder than that...We missed DJax, sure...But his absence's negative impact surely ranked behind the poor secondary and the oft-injured offensive line...

Remember when Roseman was the reason that Chip wasn't coming here and was staying at Oregon?...And then when Roseman played the most important role in finally convincing to come here after all?...I'd love to say that the flip-flopping then is proof positive that the media has very little insight into the inner workings of our front office...But, fresh in my mind from last offseason is my skepticism towards the reports of us releasing DJax...Much to my chagrin, where there was smoke there actually was fire...Too much uncertainty to guess, I guess...

@Beanstalks Betting Company @Blasphemizer Not like the Pats are ever super-spenders in FA...They can probably swallow it...But I think the idea is to extend him and avoid it...

@Brozer8 @Tom Jackson I think so...Imagine if we had beaten the Skins...You woulda had Cowboys still winning divisional title at 12-4...Seahawks, Panfers, and GB as divisional winners...Cards and Lions would get in over us...Cards have head-to-head win against us and Lions have better in-conference winning percentage...

My FA strategy for our guys would be the following if I were the Eagles:

1) Cut DeMeco Ryans and James Casey (total cap savings of $10.8 million next year).

2) Resign Maclin. 4-5 years at about 9-10 million per with almost half in guaranteed money sounds about right.

3) Have serious discussion with Cox about an extension. We should look to secure him on a 6-7 year deal right now, because if we wait we may only have to pay him more next year. Of course, it all depends on his demands. If he wants Gerald McCoy type money, then he can play out his rookie contract and we'll come back to the table later.

4) Resign Casey Matthews on a 1-2 year deal. He has proven himself to be quality depth.

5) Resign Cedric Thornton. 4 years at about 4-5 mill per.

6) Tender Chris Polk. Low-round tender or nothing for Jeff Maehl. Depends on how much Fipp needs him.

7) Trent Cole's status depends. If you can resign Graham, you cut him outright. If you can't resign Graham (who you should offer a similar contract as Thornton), you look to restructure him. If he won't accept a major pay cut, you release him.

@Harry Organs @Blasphemizer Reportedly he loves it here. We should have the cap space, so as long as his demands aren't astronomical, I hope we bring him back.
