@Calvy he was indeed, that's exactly what most tennis fans' reactions showed; while they showed the opposite for the Williams. Charisma vs no charisma, that's just a fact - learn to live with it.
@Calvy the difference was Williams don't have the charisma those guys have, nothing to do with anything else.
just shut it Tignor, there is no need to dig at someone like that. It was age giving way to youth, you are just too biased and blind to admit it. Hewitt's best was in his early 20s when he was visibly faster and Tipsy as everyone knows only made huge inroads in his late 20s. Players are just different, and even compare 28 to 31 (actually close to 32) and implying it's not much difference is a Joke. Only 3 years younger? a tennis player's prime is mostly 4-5 years if that, and 3 years is nothing just because when you apply to Hewitt? your intention is nothing but nasty.
@Wimbledonut actually he would have been tough for Sampras no matter which version, his game is just a strong match up against him. Besides he got to a bunch of Slams finals and won two, it's not luck so don't just mouth off.
@VeniVidiVici maybe his opponents parents were never as annoying and had such big mouth?
Also Tedtennis didn't associating color with speed, if you can't comprehend just shut up. But i am kind enough to explain, he said 'Berdych played great on the blue courts' while 'Nadal and Djoker whined about it being too fast' are two separate things which don't relate to each other. He never said Berdych played great on the blue court because it's fast, now that's different you dumb wit!
Ramsey, stop with the nonsense that's just stupid. I am not a Fed fan, but even you can see Fed still can beat the younger guys regularly on the biggest stages, and those courts have been slowed down - that's disadvantage to Fed actually, who likes it fast. The courts are all slower these days, even Wimbledon and USO are slower than before. Want to explain how Fed gets your so called 'advantage' against his younger competition?
@Sherlock. no you would never notice that Yolita digs at Federer, good observation..... move on.
@Yolita of course, all it takes is twisting it ... nobody makes a bigger deal out of Fed's win than it deserves, but Djoker fans? they are always in-your-face and LOUD, always happy to dig at certain other players.
"HAPPILY SUPPORTING NOVAK DJOKOVIC" every time you post in the forum .... remember? if you haven't noticed how LOUD Djoker fans are, then its only because you are one of them.
@Yolita again, he should just 'believe' and would've taken the set. Somehow i don't see you mention how many times players had upper hand against Djoker and only to see Djoker win at the end, they lacked belief too? you must have conveniently forgotten all that. Can you at least try and be less biased? it's like Fed took your money or wife away.
@Yolita sure he complimented Fed and you just don't like that. He should've said that Fed was lucky, and he played crap etc etc instead of acknowledging anything good from Federer. You know what, Fed is also a better player than Djoker, he is about 12 slams better and even at 31 he still splits the slams with the rest of the big 4, imagine what he'd have done to Djoker if he was 25-26 yo, Djoker would've no chance of being no 1. Even now, Fed still occupied the top spot for 1/3 of the season which shows just how much better Fed is over Djoker overall.
@Yolita see where you just can't stop undermining Federer? what's your problem? kris kini's comment was implying that Murray/Djoker has an edge over Fed so winning against him isn't shocking yet all you did is digging at Fed AS USUAL. Djoker is a great player but his fans are annoying, and mostly classless.
@Yolita Federer fans use weak era argument against Novak? where? it's simply not the case, just come out the closet at once and admit your intentions. Novak is a great champion and i like him, but i've rarely come across a single decent Novak fan, they are a very very biased and extreme bunch.
@Grammer police so we should all applaud your spelling skills?
@Damo well spotted, Yolita is quite slippery that he wouldn't say it directly but you can see where he was going with such 'subtle' replies.
@Yolita @patwal @wilson75 Yolita, Novak deserves all the credit for getting the top spot back, but you couldn't honest say that Federer was going all out for it, as he did skip Toronto (1000 points), Beijin/Tokyo (500 points) and i think he knew if he didn't play them, he would lose end of year top spot. I am sure he would've loved to be year-end number 1, but if it didn't suit his schedule (for family or health reasons) he wouldn't push for it, as shown by his choice of action.
We all remember in the beginning of the year, he said his mission for the year was to getting no 1 back and pass 300 weeks, NOT target at year-end, which he did. But of course, he didn't give it away to Novak that's ridiculous to say. However i think it's true that he knows he needs to save some energy at his age so he can avoid burn-out, and prolong his career.
