I think our defense can be as good as Indiana's. Paul George and Hibbert > KD and Perk, but Serge and Thabo > D. West and Stephenson. Its just IQ we need to improve to get to their level.
yea, but if we upgrade, i dont see us getting an offensive center.
@TrueChamp @Thunder S @CDNBallJunkie the silhouette of my avatar could be my true identity
@TrueChamp @Thunder S @CDNBallJunkie who says I dont? :)
thats why i see someone like mclemore being a good fit ( a better sefolosha) or like a dieng (can replace thabeet or something)
People are kidding themselves if they think we're going to get an offensive center. We have a system, and each position fits a certain role. We will try to upgrade at a position, but only with someone who does the same things better, not someone who does something different. I guarantee it. Not suggesting this is the best course of action, but i think its what the thunder will choose to do.
@CDNBallJunkie i say we trade PJ and the 29th to go up and get Mclemore. A freakishly athletic 2 guard who can defend and shoot? yes please.
Its interesting to me that we just spanked Indiana in the regular season. Kd and Russ are really good and will be back with a vengeance
Miami is basically unguardable when they have that spaced lineup. you have to hope they miss. on one possession games, you're just praying when they are on offense. easy as that.
Prayers to all of you in oklahoma. "the true measure of a man is what he does when he has nothing to gain" . true respect to KD.
@Royce Young @Thunder S but being a fairly good team may get in the way of becoming a great team. thats the flaw in the logic of "sustainability". you cant be sustainably GREAT. you can be sustainably good- some years you just have to go for it and take chances, even if it means a couple of years ull be mediocre.
there are two approaches in my mind. be good for many years. or be very good and then not as good later and then very good. Thunder are choosing the former. But as a fan, I dont want us to be consistently good but not great- thats no man's land.
I'm not saying thats what we are right now, but their logic seems to justify that approach.
All this sustainability talk is fine. But the Utah Jazz of the 90s were sustainable. So were the Sonics. Sometimes you have to go for it NOW. Its fine for the thunder to preach this- but what it means is that they would rather be a contender for 10 years than be an odds-on favorite for two or three.
I dont know about you. But i dont want to be the Utah Jazz of the 1990s or the Cleveland Cavaliers with Lebron. Those teams were "in contention" but not good enough to win it.
@Legendary_Dork @Thunder S he mustve watched too much film of our post season offense. #shotsfired
Perry Jones sounds a lot like Reggie Jackson. #igotjokes
Lamb sounds like he was falling asleep in his exit interview
@kierantk @Bry Bry Ibaka was a good pickup, but im skeptical he can improve his ball skills. he has just poor hands, theres no two ways around it. even on freethrows sometimes he doesnt get a clean grip on the ball. still a good player- but just dont think we can expect him to turn into hakeem.
@TrueChamp @Thunder S im not lying, here:
Chris Tomasson @christomasson4h
LeBron on OKC: “You can’t replace Russell Westbrook. He’s an Olympian and if he continues on the path he’s on he’s a future Hall of Famer."
@Amnesty Perkins @Thunder S Lamb has similar size and physical tools. problem is he doesnt have the same motor- and i dont think thats something you can just teach.
Can Lamb replace Thabo next year? Would we take better shooting if it means some drop off on defense?
@Amnesty Perkins i dont think thats a prerequisite for a center. see marc gasol.
