wait till the guys who have been their realize that you can do things another way besides the al way (r.i.p. mr davis) and they will respond.  i think branch, huff, and mcclain have monster seasons this year.  even though he has shown glimpses, huff was so great at texas that i cant believe he hasn't played to his full potential yet, i believe he will this year.  i also think curry comes up huge when used right.  i know its only a footb all game, but curry had 18 sacks in my season on madden cause he is so fast off that edge.  allen and tarver have some talent on d to work with, but we need a little more.  hey, what do you guys think of burflict with one of those picks.  i know everyones been dogging him and he's dropping quick, but he seems like a football player to me.  the question is whaqt is he from monday to saturday!

i think their working something with wimbley as well or he would be cut by now.  i would like to keep him, but if he doesn't want to help use out, then he got to go, point blank.  he's definitely not worth the contract mr davis gave him, but a lot of people say just keep him cause if we cut him, we owe him like 6 mil anyways this year.  my problem with that is how will he be received in the locker room for one, and he could have a strained relationship with owner and staff.  its a sticky situation for us, and i think besides the coaching search (which i for one like), this is mr mckenzies first big decision he's gonna have to make, and it might not be too well received by the raider nation.

so people say trade mcfadden still, so i ask you to who?  teams with multiple picks aka new england?  yea there we go, strenghthen a strong team already again (moss).  we would be dumb to trade mcfadden, and its funny cause the 2 main excused i hear for carsons performance last year is what, 1. got up off the couch to play, and 2. didn't have the luxury of having mcfadden behind him like campbell had earlier in the season!  you either want him or you dont.  people say bush carried us, well he did in november, but in december we couldn't lean on him and teams didnt respect him to hit the homerun ball, which is why he was caught from behind on many big plays last year that dmac took to the house, or would have.  restructure for him is a whole different topic, but as far as getting rid of him now, we would def. win 4 games next year!

we cant afford another big contract like the one jackson will be after, if he even gets out of s.d.  someone said resign schillens, are you kidding me.  we got to rework this cap issue first.  the steelers were in worst shape than us and restructured bens contract and saved 8 million dollars!  so what that tells me is wimbley, huff, kelly, and curry better be ready when the time comes to wheel and deal cause that can be a whole lot of space from where were at now.  we could use wimbleys money to possibly throw at mario williams, just a thought.

i think the thought process is to open up the offense like the packers and saints do with multiple wide formations, then run it down your throat with dmac and dump offs to him, the only problem we faec is we dont necessarily have those teams recievers on our roster, but we do have playmakers. moore could be a greg jennings type, ford is a james jones type, and dhb, well, he's just dhb! the point im making is WHEN healthy dmac is better than gb's running backs and can be used as a huge weapon like the saints do sproles. the one thing allen definitely emphasized in his press conference was that "we are gonna be an explosive offense". that was maybe the most stern thing he said. i also like the fact he said our d is good, but we need to improve in the lb play and the secondary, unlike hue who would just say "we will play better next game". will be interesting to see who gets cut, and what free agents we can get here this offseason. and for the last time and i dont want to say it again, please listen mr mckenzie and coach allen. DO NOT TRADE DARREN MCFADDEN!

2 years, 5 months ago on Greg Knapp gets another crack at running Raiders offense | January

trading dmac would be one of the dumbest things we could do. remember a certain db who couldn't stay healthy here, left here via free agency cause us fans were upset he couldn't stay healthy, he was a huge part of a turnaround on defense for a team that went on to win the superbowl and he also won defensive mvp and has stamped himself into the hall of fame when his career is over? i dont hear no ram fans saying cut sam bradford and he was a number one pick and has missed alot of time with injurys, including last year the same injury as mcfadden. it sucks, but you cant get rid of your best weapon. i like marshawn lynch, but doesn't it strike anyone why he was ran out out of buffalo. and i dont wanna hear cause of fred jackson beat him out. bringing him back home to cali might be a big mistake, but it would excite the crowd cause he plays like a beast, but can he keep his head on straight. i really dont know if we can afford to franchise bush unless its with the understanding to buy more time to get a long term deal. interesting times in oakland for sure.

you dont need a pro bowl dt, they dont fall off trees. you have to make em with players around him. most good dt are big space eaters that hold up the oline so linebackers can run free and make players. yea, if you get a hold of a raji then your lucky. the 3-4 is proving to be a good d. broncos switched to it, their d improved. texans d improved, even green bay switched to it a couple years ago. im just waiting to see who gets this job. its nerve racking, but its exciting. also, one last thing thats totally off the subject, the next time i read someone posting on any raider site that we should trade mcfadden, im a jump off a bridge somewhere. that is just absolutely ridiculous. people keep saying if we had him this season more we would have made the playoffs, which i agree, so how does trading him make us better?

hue was a very good oc, not head coach. i think with al passing hue thought he was gonna take over the team. mark and amy went with whatever he said with the intentions of letting him make his own bed. even after all that, the press conference waas the last straw. despite hue being right, as the head coach you CANNOT go out like that. he really threw a lot of guys on defense under the bus. they were just playing the D they were told to. that presser was classless and with reggie coming from a classy organization, he wasn't having it. and if hue wanted power in personnel decisions (with no resume to do it), reggie was getting rid of a headache that was waiting to happen. we have long wanted our raiders to gut some dead weight here (aka schillens and others), lokks like it will finally happen. one good thing, it doesn't take much to win the afc west, and the last 3 years every team has won the division, guess who's next ya? since the ravens are still fighting for the division title, cause they will know before they take the field if the pats lose or not for the #1 seed, they can get #2 by winning over the bengals, and the jets can beat the dolphins and they got a break cause reggie bush is out, so jsut beat the chargers FIRST and let the rest play itself out. i feel good about us today. wish i could be at the game cause its gonna be off the hook. whomever is reading this and going, make some noise every chance you can. i will be watching with my eyes glued to all scores around the league. jackson played the first time we played them and didn't really do nothing. he has a bad hammy if he plays or not, so routte should have a huge advantage over him. keep a safety back, drop a lb 5 - 10 yards off the line in the middle, and go after phillip rivers! on offense, until they can prove they can stop bush, give them a heavy dose. last time he had 30 carries io believe, this time give him 23 (7 for jones) to spell him. keep the reverses and all that stuff coming hue. as always, GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!

2 years, 6 months ago on Raiders win ugly one over Chiefs to stay in playoff hunt | December

i dont know why, but call it being a homer, i got a feeling we blow out the chiefs by 17 and the broncos lose. heres why. carson remembers what happened last time and the chiefs knew boller couldn't beat them and palmer was rusty, so they played us for the run only. now carson is settled (and i dont wanna hear the get used to the receiver excuse no more) we can open it up and let bush grind em to pieces. the reason i think denver loses is because everybody thinks its an easy win for them, but they can air it out and with spiller out the backfield and no dawkins for them, one of those linebackers have to watch for him, and also they dont give up many sacks anyways. their d is suspect, but so is denvers offense. evryone talks the blueprint to beating a team, well to beat denver is to score points and make them pass the ball. plus, a fact i seen earlier, since becoming the starter, tebow has not played a game in under 45 degrees since college! back to us, the reason why i believe we win is for one reason and one only, orton is the qb. we beat him 3 times straight and it may be 4!

honestly, our season is coming down to the biggest trade of the year (per hue), carson has got to be the man! even without mcfadden, moore practices today and hopefully he plays. he along with murphy and bey and reece can give us enough with our remaining schedule i believe. now defensively, somebody has to come up big for 3 weeks, seymour, routt or wimbley & mcclain! detroit cant run the ball, though they haven't palyed us yet, and last week the vikes almost beat them without ap and put up a ton of yards and points. they also held megatron to 3 or 4 catches, and their secondary is terrible! time for guys to dig in for 3 weeks and our leaders on both sides need to lead us their, seymour and palmer! as always, GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!! lets get it!

despite everything, we need mcfadden, moore and ford back. it changes our offense so completely. alot of things change for us when we can put that 3 some together. we had a glimpse in the chargers game and that was without dmac! also. i still like our chances to make the playoffs. we of course have to win out, we need denver to lose to the pats(they will), and i believe the week after the jets to lose to the giants (they will). the bengals still have the ravens to go, so we could be okay! i just got a funny feeling we make it. even if dmac is out for the stretch run (which i heard), ford gives us field position and a serious threat deep (not bey), and moore may be our best all around receiver and i think carsons favorite. i kinda think hue was saving these guys for the last 3 games, but if one of those receivers cant go by wednesday, t.o. anyone? hue has rolled the dice the any other time, so why not now!

man, i thought i had a bad mouth at time. the only fans i talk to like that are browns fans here in ohio, but they deserve it. nonetheless, we got to come out and play football today! we need to pressure rodgers relentlessly and make our corners bump the receivers at the line and that eliminates the timing (like pittsburgh did to new england this year). we cannot play a zone or we will get killed. the texans are winning without their #1 or #2 q.b. and their #1 wideout nad there best defensive player! its not gonna be easy, but get bush going early and often, and dont turn over the ball (carson)! difficult game, but i believe we can pull it out (or is it wishful thinking?). oh well as always, GO RAIDERS!!!!

let me the first to aplologize. i didn't think we had a chance. ee even though i was dead on about bush not ending with t.d.s, cause that big run in the first qtr and that big screen would have been easy t.d. for dmac, nonetheless, bush played great and so did everyone else. carsons 2 turnovers weren't near as bad as the first few he has cause one he was hit from behind and the other murphy was wide open and if bush blocks that end carsons ball is an easy td to murphy but his arm is hit and the ball hangs up and the safety got over to pick it. carson is looking better and better and with this time off he can get more acclimated to the wrs. hoopefully ford and mcfadden can get back. also i dont think carson knows how fast our receivers are cause on the play that ford got hurt, if he leads him more its an easy t.d.! one last thing, rod woodson needs to work with the db's on locating the ball in the air and picking it off! that includes routt too! great win, once again, i aplogize for being so negative this week. if we gave half that effort last night the last two games, we would be sitting pretty right now!

well, like i said the other day, i dont care who the qb is (except boller), who starts at wr, or the offensive sets, we will not be successful without mcfadden! bush is nice, and i hear guys all the time saying he should be the starter cause mcfadden isn't healthy, but the difference is on bush's 10 to 15 yard bursts, those are 20 plus for mcfadden. bush is only north and south, while mcfadden can go east and west as well. we only run right up the middle with bush cause he doesn't have the ability for sweeps and tosses. i know this is no new news to anyone, but we need him bad! despite the ramifications, i would seriously think about sitting him thursday if he is not totally 100% healthy to get him extra rest for the long haul. i would rather take my chance being a game back if we lose thursday than rush him back and we got bush the rest of the season as the feature back!

we should be alright this game. as long as we dont kill ourselves with penaltys(which would be the players fault) or we aren't prepared (which would be the coach's fault), we should be good to go. i got a feeling it will be relatively close for a half till we pull away. need to get taiwan jones involved some for the change of pace. we been blitzing alot lately and that should be the order of the day. also, we need veldheer to be on his game cause despite having a quiet season, we know dumerville is still a handful, and if he can make some plays it could ignite them defensively. last year, tebow came in here and put on somewhat of a show, rushing for a long t.d. as well as throwing one, which i think was a little lucky, but they wouldn't go away and that was after we embarrassed them in denver. cant take it lighly, just go play and we can win this one handily. alot of eyes are gonna be on palmer this week. he gets a home start and he better be ready cause the nation will be going nuts when he starts the game. raiders - 28, broncos - 10.

one thing for sure as a raider fan doesn't it feel good for all the excitement in the air for our team? instead if talking about a coach on the hot seat, or the raiders moving, were debating and talking about who can keep leading this team to victorys! its a good feeling. usually its about "how man games we lost by now", or "we need to trade mcfadden", or "why did we draft bey", but its all positive stuff. even with campbell getting hurt, most teams would be totally devastated to lose their starter this early in the year, but were talking about even being better than before! i love it. aaron curry probably feels good the talk isn't about him. nonetheless, i could probably start and beat the chiefs at HOME this weekend. lets head into the bye with some momentum for the 2nd half and get some guys healthy for the stretch run. @DevonRaiderUK@nilbymouth i agree with at least hue is trying to find a solution instead of just going with whats not working so far. i mean even the best defenses can be beat when you spread them out (packers vs steelers in the super bowl), but my big problem is we dont tackle well at all! if you noticed in the jets game, even though we won, did you see how many nice one on one tackles they made on us? if we could get more of that consistently, we wouldn't give up 3rd and 12. also, sometimes when we blitz our lb, we need to drop back a end to guard against the quick pass and the check down. remember the pick shaugnessey had in the preseason against the 9ers i believe. tht pick wolfork got, he wasn't even rushing. his whole thing was to tie up a blocker at the line of scrimmage and hang back and get his hands up for the short pass to bat it down or pick it if lucky enough.

@DevonRaiderUK@nilbymouth the last time our d was any good, our super bowl days, we had two monstrous run stufers in the middle (parella and adams), and they held up those holes and let guys like biekert make the tackles. our d line is alright, but it seems we have a line full of pass rushers. i thought big henderson would make a bigger impact against the run, but he doesn't have a help mate. i dont think kelly is that good, and if it wasn't for seymour, we probably wouldn't have seen this much out of him. though he has some age on him, i think the trevor pryce option (was in for a workout) would bode well for our run d, we just need rolando and tyvon to make some more tackles in front of them and not behind them!

@DevonRaiderUK what good is it gonna do if their all gonna miss the tackle, only to run him down 40 yards later. i didn't say he doesn't hustle, he doesn't know how to hit , wrap, and tackle. with that speed he should be flying in their lighting guys up, he's usually untouched. its not mcclains speed i worry about, he's just not where he is supposed to be.

2 years, 9 months ago on Raiders inconsistencies eating potential wins | October

i'll tell you whats wrong, WE CANT TACKLE! tyvon branch came untouched all the way to that rb from n.e. and went high for some un known reason. tomlinson gets a 74 yard screen pass cause 3 raiders didn't tackle him. mcclain has a lot on his plate for a young guy, but even saban said he was the smartest football player he ever coached. another problem is guys dont give effort on every down (mainly 3rd). the dline half a-- runs in there, and thats probably the biggest strength of our team. also, especially when were behind or need to regain momentum, mcfadden needs to be on the field! even if the plays not to him, he has to be accounted for, no team looks at bush that way. last year the cards game was a huge loss for us early in the season, hopefully the bills debacle doesn't come back to haunt us! this weeks game is winnable, but unfortunately without andre johnson, that means more arian foster, bad news for us. another area we get destroyed in on d is on cut backs by runing backs. no gap disclipline! im done.

@ams2fx im always happy over a win, no matter how it comes. it could have been a last second hail mary, im taking it! do we need massive improvement? of course we do, especially in the penalty department. read today they had officials at todays practice. its a huge rivalry and temper were flaring on both sides. we were a punt return away from blowing this game away! give them some credit for battling back in it, but in the end we had too much for them really on both of our lines. i honestly dont think this weekends game will be as close because the dumb chiefs averaged almost 6 yards a carry against them, and went away from it, we wont! the play action will also be there and i think bey goes big. expect dmac and bush to dominate. just cause they beat up the chiefs, like we did the last time we played them, their still not that good either. now theyre trying to pump up the crowd with their so-called no name offense their saying. they'll see our d is better than the chiefs by far!

i like the kid. he's being screwed by the money grubbers in the ncaa, so he had to go pro. with our line, a scrambling qb will be what we need. campbell will be gone by halftime of the jets game, edwards might finish, and boller can make it till pryor is on the field. seriously though, run some wildcat, split him out wide, a little option here or there. maybe he can help this pathetic offense get going. if we (campbell) gets of to a good start, broncos and bills, then the pressure will be off of him. but if campbell is shaky, and you all heer know it, coach davis will be counting down the days till his suspension is over! and for those who think pryor is getting his "just due" by his suspension, what about guys like, oh say, Pete Carroll who got the heck out of dodge in the whole usc ordeal!

even though its preseason, there is no way we build or duplicate last season with this pathetic play. the only tream that has looked worse is the bengals! we cant score, all campbell had to do on that 4th down goalline is throw the ball to a wide open boss, but instead he holds and goes down! were stil plagued by penalties thats killing drives left and right. barnes is a liability and he shouldn't be on the field period. despite holding them from scoring, their 1st team marched up and down the field on our first team d. the only thing that i liked was we blitzed alot with the first team, and shaughnessey is gonna be a beast. moore impressed once again and bey made a couple nice plays. other than that, truly disappointed!

yea, our receivers haven't caught a lot of balls, but getting the ball in mcfaddens hands as much as possible isn't a bad thing, he's our most explosive player (ford a close 2nd). bad oline play, and i dont think campbell is confident in our receivers to throw it to them. murphys injury is huge cause i think he's our best receiver hands down. hue should tell jason to throw to bey as much as he can in these preseason games. the moore kid could be ready to take off and with all the injurys at that spot, he may work himself into a lot of action in the opener(maybe start)! hue seems to be running a tom coughlin like camp, which is what we need, but with all the stuff missed cause of the lockout, he's running us into medical tent faster than they can run a play! i know one thing, the 49ers got sacked like 10 times last week, so im expecting at least 6 or more. time to turn that intensity up in the game, not just in practice. i also wanna see our offense score some dang on points!

probably the best news we got here since the lockout ended! we know he can block coming from that giants system. wish we could have got gaither (healthy) and i would be pleased with what we have. that kid moore is gonna be a good receiver, he is probably better than bey, just not faster. schillens(healthy), murphy(stud with an attitude, perfect raider), ford aka t.d. waiting to happen and that moore kid gives us a nice wr group. still need a another o-lineman, leonard davis perhaps and we should be off and running. on paper we all say we dont have a legitimate 1 wr, but one of the aforementioned will have to step up and become that. the steelers receivers aren't great either, but they get better than average qb play and thats what jason is gonna have to do, but he needs help up front and we need our best and most dangerous weapon on the field and healthy, and thats of course dmac. the next news we need is bush signing his tender and getting in camp.

yea like many, i have been crying for a vet wr too, but we need a OL or two first. the player that excites me the most for next year is dmac, cause a vet wr or a better line makes him all the more dangerous! i think santana moss is the best option out there being we have campbell and saunders running the offense, sidney rice will cost too much as well as santonio holmes! dhb definitely needs to pick his numbers up. he will probably start cause even though he doesn't catch enough balls and make an impact in the passing game, he is a heck of a run blocker and blocks all the way to the end of plays, and will finish a block and run 100 miles an hour downfield to find somebody else to block! i think also campbell can help his confidence by throwing a couple of more times to him as well, not 2 or 3 catchable balls a half and 4 or 5 crappy balls a half when he's under extreme pressure. thats why i think we need ol more cause it could give campbell more time and also dhb more time to get open. he also needs to work on his route running as well, and a vet like moss (santana) could be a big help to this young man. unfortunately for bey, besides campbell, i think the his future here depends on this season! we'll see if the young man can stand up to the pressure. nonetheless, GO RAIDERS!!!!

i watched all the raider games too, and he doen't get no balls thrown his way. is it his route running, no seperation, or no confidence from the q.b. cause the 1 game he got targeted a couple times (seahawks) he put up good numbers. yea he disappeared in some games this year (pittsburgh) (texans) (49ers) (cardinals), but so did the whole team! as a mater of fact, he got the pass interference call that set up jano for that chip shot fg he missed at the end of the cardinals game. the reason he got that was cause the ball was so far behind him from jc that he had to slow up. in our offense we run, no receiver is gonna put up great numbers because no one respects our passing game cause of our line and q.b. play. i bet his numbers would be a whole lot different with rich gannon in that offense! he made a star out of jerry porter, who by the way, is he even in the league anymore? better line play and qb will help him alot. and for those who think murphy is so much better, he hasn't done anything i can remember since steeler game last year!

i feel bad for any receiver to have to deal with j. russell throwing him the ball. the one thing i do like about bey is he is a great blocker and doesn't give up on plays. unfortunately he drops some as well (as does murphy). schillens is so unpredictable its crazy. i think with better offensive line play in the pass, as well as campbell growing in the offense, bey will get better. would like to see a vet wr like santana moss to come in and help him. i like many was down on mcfadden as well, but once healthy with better play calling he excelled. if hue builds that bully on offense he says he is, i believe teams will stack the line and bey will get better opportunitys, but we must address the line early and often in the draft since we cant do nothing in free agency to help the team due to that dumb lockout. one more quick thing, we must resign Asomugha!
