I'm pretty fuckin' libertarian across the board, myself. I've been in Thomas' corner for most of this stuff, as I feel there has been an absolutely ridiculous amount of attention given to his politics due to the fact that they're not what happens to be cool or popular in the main stream. I approached this situation the same way initially; I don't agree with Chik-Fil-A's views at all, but I think they're 100% within their rights to have them. Where he lost me was just about at the "God's wrath" part. I facepalmed so hard I think I almost broke the internet. Freedom of speech and all that, super. But fucking fuck man, there's only so much of the "GOD WILL SMOTE THEE WITH HIS HOLY WRATH" shit that I can handle.
To see a fanbase become so instantly divided from a player by a sensationalist media constantly looking for the next story, whether relevant or not, was so depressing to me. Every time an article was written about Thomas, there was some political dig or reference, and the issue was simply not allowed to die. To see a player who, almost exactly one year ago, was so respected and loved by his fanbase, be turned on so quickly and definitively over something as fucking ridiculous and irrelevant as his political views, because they may not be the most popular to the teams specific fanbase (MA isn't exactly a Conservative haven...)... it just blows my mind.
This shit is right up there with the Montreal vs Randy Cunneyworth because he didn't speak French.

I agree with everyone but Lucic. Move him down a line, maybe, but I'd hate to see him go.
