I know it's just preseason but man the bucks are hanging with the bulls and looking good. Possible surprise playoff team

That statement is ridiculous since lambs 2 best months co insided with Russ's 2nd injury and mostly lamb fisher bench units. Then brooks decided to keep playing fisher after dropping him out of the rotation early in the season.

Not to be that guy, but I think it's more the co incidental that lamb has his best game in a while after reggie goes off injured. Those guys can't co exist on the floor together, for whatever reason they just have no chemistry

My take on the game just looking at the boxscore.

Adams is the goat. And his inability to hit free throws might be a blessing in disguise since once okc enters the bonus kd's rip move is a shooting foul and he's money

Lamb is like agents of shield. He struggled in all the ways I expected him too. once he gets his rhythm back his shot will be there with it. Also he really needs to play more minutes with Russ.

Robes was good at defense and may be a deserved starting SG but since lamb and reggie can't play together robes would be better used as backup SF. He may have also earned a spot in the gaurenteed closing 5 along with Russ KD and serge

My favoured okc lineups

Reggie morrow robes KD serge and

Russ lamb perry Mitch/nick Adams

KD getting in folu trouble is better then serge getting killed on the perimeter. Russ reggie serge ect could do well enough against this cavs team with KD on the bench for most of the game if they had too. And the leaguewouldn't let KD foul out for marketing reasons

While I agree serge is our best rim proctor so making him the foul magnet is dumb. KD, perry and robes are the best options with huestis also a possibility next year or if he lights up the d league

Ugh. There has been a simple way to contain lebron these past 5 years. A lockdown defender at SF (Marion Khwai ect) and a good rim protector. (Chandler/Duncan/ect) why would you blow that by putting KD on love and serge on lebron? It makes no sense

3 weeks, 2 days ago on Tuesday Bolts – 10.7.14

Mitch is a rookie? So his level of defensive competence is unknown. WhT we do know is that in the past when okc has tried to guard love with a combination of perk ibaka and collision okc got torched and Adams probably can't guard love on the perimeter either

Didn't they already do that 3 years ago?

Re the okc vs the cavs question below. OKC's killer matchup vs Kevin love is Mitch McGary. He might be the only guy on the thunder who can guard those strong finesse PF's (love Diaw ect)

So in a lineup vs the cavs starters I'd say Russ (vs. waiters) robes (vs Kyrie and lebron)KD (lebron) serge (Thompson/rim protection) and Mitch (love) is OKC's best chance

It will be a new cap and reggie is easily going to be a top 10 pg when he gets his own team

Maybe but if we do it won't be by very much and there will be an exit strategy in place.

Also Mitch McGary might have the best/most sustainable contract in the nba right now

All the agents knew this was coming, that's probably why they were waiting. The Phx Bledsoe stuff also dragged it out

3 weeks, 3 days ago on A Brave New World: What the NBA’s massive new TV deal means for OKC’s future

Because going deep into the luxury tax doesn't make much sense from a sustainability point of view. And more importantly owners like money

3 weeks, 3 days ago on A Brave New World: What the NBA’s massive new TV deal means for OKC’s future

Why would reggie say yes to that when he's getting 15+ per year easy as a free agent (restricted)

3 weeks, 3 days ago on A Brave New World: What the NBA’s massive new TV deal means for OKC’s future

Reply

Reggie has no reason to take that, and a larger contract is important for a trade piece because getting 7million per year won't get you much in return in a trade when the cap has skyrocketed but a 10-15 million expiring deal will have lots of trade value especially for a good player

3 weeks, 3 days ago on A Brave New World: What the NBA’s massive new TV deal means for OKC’s future

Reply

If I was presti I'd offer reggie a 2/20 or 3/30-40 short highly paid deal right now. Reggie gets some money straight up which is always great and okc extends their trade window by 2-3 years. With perk off the books next year okc will have some extra money to play with and still be under the tax or they might dip in for 1 year.

That type of deal would greatly benefit both parties

Paul is just a special teammate he's so talented and plays so hard on defense. That's why I gave him my side pieces number.

Best case he's houstons Ron harper for the modern nba, but they still need a Steve Kerr, And a Scottie Pippen to make everything work and they don't have that (assuming harden is a good Jordan substitute/immitation)

Chalmers, poor mans avery Bradley, George hill without the jumpshot there are heaps of defense only combo guards in the nba. Beverly is a good compliment for harden but there are heaps of other guys who could do what he does better

Rudy gay is going to get bought out of his contract at some point. Then he will sign an affordable 1 year deal somewhere. I'm betting clippers but there are other contenders Houston will probably make a push

3 weeks, 5 days ago on Saturday Morning Cartoons: Godspeed, Panda

His contract is expiring and sac as a lotto team won't be worth sticking around on. The clippers are the best team with a major need at sf

Beverley's personality isn't the issue for me it's his lack of basketball skills apart from annoying defense. Which while important to Houston because harden won't play any doesn't make him good. Rondo, Rubio, reggie Jackson would all improve Houston more then Beverly and they are boarder line top 20 pg's

3 weeks, 5 days ago on Saturday Morning Cartoons: Godspeed, Panda

I think Ariza and a healthy Beverly will improve their defense, but every other team got much better. Okc dropped fisher, and possibly perk from the rotation Lac added some big man depth(and they are getting Rudy gay at the deadline whether that's good or bad though ?) Dallas converted their roster into a run and gun team. Memphis added 2 impact rookies. Portlands young guys are more developed then they were last year. Phoenix kept their team together and added depth at key positions. Denver got healthy, GSW have a new coach who might be better. New Orleans Davis got older, they got asik and holiday is healthy. Houston has to hope dwights back holds and Mchale coaches well

Edit: houstons big f/a move was almost getting bosh and they were never close

They have a few key young guys eg Lillard Leonard Robinson and their first round pg/SG from last year.

I'd love to see OKC's preseason training camp games. Especially if there was a game between

Team 1 reggie-morrow-jones-KD-Ibaka (a classic small ball (thin) lineup) vs

Team 2 Russ-lamb-robes-nick-steve

Mitch would be a bench player for team 1

So reggie is OKC's starting pg for roughly half the season and kept OKC in place for the number 1 seed in the west. But waiters and hill are better. Espn rank is a joke.

An arguement for royce's balanced reporting is he actually knows/has to regularly deal with Scott brooks and the thunder organisation. That would become extremely uncomfortable if you were a regular person (aka not squirt gun skip) who was constantly criticising/belittling/calling them stupid in the media

Why? Gay is a 20 million expiring this year that no one will trade for and sacremento will suck badly. Dude is getting a buyout. And no team needs a SF more then the clippers. Their depth hart is matt Barnes (injured)!and joe ingles

I hate the idea of a Russ, reggie, morrow KD serge lineup it's basicLly the fisher 3 guard lineup except morrow is a much better shooter. Can't presti sign a 6'8 guy who can shoot ( it might be huestis but that's the future)

The player comparison. That I like the most for reggie is Gilbert arenas except other better defense. He's the type of guy who's so driven to be great that he's working his ass off to get there.

In college he eventually shot 40% from 3 and I'd expect him to be able to do something similar in the nba, so once he fixes his shot he's a 6'3 pg with a wingspan big enough to guard any pg and SG in the nba. He finishes extremely well at the rim and now he's basically a 50/40/90 guy with a lightning first step. He's not harden (best SG in the nba) but he's easily a top 10 pg and possibly top5 in the. Ext 2 years
