@Luigi *Tvaddic* @Dion Shot First (Trade lamb, Robes and Morrow Fact All things considered i'd rather have mcgary then Kanter as our mobile no defense PF/C.

Also Oboy the davis contract isn;t comparable because it expires next year. length is super important on cheep contracts

@harmlesslyfatal #WinTheLottoFaction @Dion Shot First (Trade lamb, Robes and Morrow Fact So basically if OKC were willing to go up to 20 Million over the tax for next season. It would cost them up to 45 million in tax payments but the repeater tax wouldn't kick in for 2-3 years if OKC manages to get below the tax this season.

And After the cap Jumps OKC would be under the tax and likely to stay under it in the future. There is also the issue of the CBA expiring and the luxury tax system being almost universally hated as it advantages big market teams

@harmlesslyfatal #WinTheLottoFaction http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q21

The amount of tax a team pays depends on the season, the team salary as of the team's last regular season game, and whether the team is a "repeat offender":

  • For 2011-12 and 2012-13, teams pay $1 for every $1 their team salary exceeds the tax level. There is no repeater rate.
  • For 2013-14 teams pay an incremental rate based on their team salary. There is no repeater rate.
  • For 2014-15 teams pay an incremental rate based on their team salary. They pay the repeater rate if they also were taxpayers in all of the previous three seasons.
  • For 2015-16 and all subsequent seasons, teams pay an incremental rate based on their team salary. They pay the repeater rate if they were taxpayers in at least three of the four previous seasons.

So going into next season OKC would have only been over the tax once or possibly not at all in the last 3 seasons. so if they were to go into the tax it would be the regular tax.

@harmlesslyfatal #WinTheLottoFaction @Dion Shot First (Trade lamb, Robes and Morrow Fact The Repeater tax kicks in in year 3. So if OKC were Over the Cap in 2014-15 and 2015-16 the repeater tax wouldn't kick in till 2016-17 with the new TV deal due and a new CBA likely

And technically OKC can still avoid the Tax from the 2014-15 season if they trade away salary before the Draft/ july reset

@harmlesslyfatal #WinTheLottoFaction that would be OC's worst case scenario because then he couldn't be traded and would probably leave for nothing next year.

From an OKC perspective it would be better to max him, then trade him next June

The Type of Guy that group could get is someone who is an overpaid expiring contract. your not getting a world beater. but you might get someone solid. Especially since OKC isn't giving up draft picks since they just gave 2 away this season. But honestly your probably more likely to get a guard

Guys in that Sallary range include batum, Gallinari, thadeus young, loul deng Gerald Wallace Monta, Brandon Jennings, Lou Williams, Aflallo OJ Mayo

David West,  Ryan Anderson, Al jefferson, nene, Jordan Hill

Its a much shorter list then i expected but its still possible. to get an impact guy.

@f5alcon @Dion Shot First (Trade lamb, Robes and Morrow Fact @The Meerhat Meerkat I disagree with KD being all the wing play you need because he constantly gets switched onto guards and gets killed. KD is a bad defender that needs to be covered for in wing matchups

the 10 million dollar guy is coming from trading a combination of DJ lamb, Perry and Novak. they make approximately 13 Million combined next year and OKC has including Huestis 17 players. so trading 3 expendables and a solid backup for an Impact player with a large ish expiring contract makes lots of sense

Right Now for next season OKC's best 9 man rotation looks like

Guards Russ, Dion, DJ

Wings KD Robes, Singler

Bigs Serge, Kanter, Adams

Specialist 3pt shoter: Morrow

Foul trouble Big Man: Nick collision

Energy big. Mitch Mcgary

Need to upgrade 4 of those 9 guys to make a serious Run
