2 months, 1 week ago on Dodgers @ Mets May 21, 2014: Dodgers, curiously, recall Erisbel Arruebarrena
Why not use Guerrero as a utility guy for awhile. Figgins is a waste if a roster spot. Get Guerrero some Major league at-bats and some rest for Uribe & Hanley. I hear about how he needs to play everyday to shore up his defense, but when I saw him during ST he was not exactly terrible.
2 months, 1 week ago on What Will The Dodgers Do With Dee Gordon & Alex Guerrero?
Unless Beckett implodes this Spring they're going to give him a shot- $15.75 million worth of shots. Hopefully the bridge can be gapped until Bills is back. Personally, I'm rooting for Lee to get the rotation slot out of ST.

What concerns me is whether Ethier suffered this "microfracture" from that original Sept. 13th date or whether the trauma progressed to a fracture because the medical staff was negligent and let him play and workout on the leg.
9 months, 2 weeks ago on The NLCS Is Not Over, But It Doesn’t Look Great
Trauma to the connective tissue which can LEAD to stress fracture so he potentially suffered the fracture after playing or working out after the shin splints. Unless he injured the tissue and fractured his leg at the same time.

Nice. We're all in this together anyways, right? We'll need each other for comfort once JHair pinch hits in the NLDS. There's no way Donnie is looking him in the eye and telling Jerry he isn't going to be on the roster.

My fault this time.
Scott & Mike got into it, but I have nothing to do with that.
I'm going on Sunday.
Kenny was a writer on LL before Scott & I but FanSided created the site.
Yes, and Kenny didn't start LL.
I'm offended that my name is misspelled in the MSTI Wiki.
He was blowing saves and generally awful during his last time in Seattle.
10 months, 2 weeks ago on Ricky Nolasco Is Going to Get Paid
He was blowing saves in Seattle.
I have no problem with them resigning Nolasco. It's different than League since he was reliable and pitched well in Miami over the years. Mediocre? Yes, but he's really shown what he's capable of while pitching in a more familiar and positive atmosphere near his home town. League was awful in Seattle as well, so that deal was just horrific. Nolasco will indeed get paid.
Getting rid of Guerrier and getting intl spending money in return for taking Marmol? Sounds great to me. There's always a chance a change of scenery and some coaching cues from Honeycutt could fix Marmol. We know that Guerrier is pretty much hopeless.
1 year ago on Carlos Marmol is a Dodger, and I Don’t Hate This
I think he's fine for the fifth spot right now. Fife has been far better than the injured Beckett, more polished and controlled than Matt Magill, and more consistent than Cappy or rusty Lilly.

1 year, 2 months ago on Why Is Brandon League Awful Now?
Maybe Honeycutt is still working on it. Wasn't he a sort of project?
Or perhaps he's been on a downward trajectory for awhile, and we should have never signed him to a long-term deal and gone with Kenley. Mariners fans warned me last season. He was just as awful in Seattle toward the end.
True, but Sellers and Cruz aren't getting on either and neither have speed
1 year, 3 months ago on Why Not Dee Gordon? This is Why
I may sacrifice some defense here. The Dodgers have 4 SBs on the season, and one of their problems is that their lack of speed besides Crawford (since Matt Kemp isn't getting on base) is that they are only moving from station to station thus stranding more runners. Gordon's speed could provide not only a much-needed pinch-runner option but he can also fluster opposing pitchers creating situations where the Dodgers can strike offensively. When you're not getting the big hits from your main guys, you gotta try to manufacture runs via other means.
That's what I suggest. Crawford leading off vs. RHP and Ellis vs.LHP. If Crawford isn't 100%, then we'd have to use Hanley.
1 year, 6 months ago on I Guess Someone Has To Hit Leadoff, Don’t They?
Great post. I had the pleasure of meeting A.J. at an autograph signing earlier this season, and I have to say he was one of the nicest Dodgers I have ever met. He spent a few minutes talking with my 5-year old daughter, and I know she will remember her first experience meeting a big leaguer forever. It's extra special to watch a player like A.J. have such a inspirational year knowing that he is genuinely a good guy off the field as well.
1 year, 9 months ago on 2012 Dodgers in Review #1: C A.J. Ellis
While I want to win this year of course, I'm terrified that we'll lose Bills next year to TJ. Also, why risk Kenley's life/career if he needs heart surgery? Obviously it will be very hard to win without him, but these high stake down-the-stretch games are very stressful. That being said, it doesn't really matter what the pitching staff does if we can't score runs. The starters can't throw a shutout every game.
1 year, 10 months ago on Is The Loss of Chad Billingsley Going to Sink the Season?
@DBrim That would be fine too.
1 year, 11 months ago on Luis Cruz Taking Advantage of His Opportunities
With the combined futility of Uribe, Loney, Kennedy, and Gordon to a degree, Luis Cruz is a welcomed reprieve from the infield issues. There's absolutely no reason not to start Cruz at 3B right now.
Uribe doesn't even play anymore so what use is his defense? He should have been sent packing long, long ago. They need to cut both Kennedy and Uribe. Also, who are they really going to get at 1B? I think we're stuck with the Rivera/Loney platoon until Sands gets his Sept. call up.
