colts lose this one

@DougEngland did you forgive manning for throwing that pick 6?
1 year, 12 months ago on Eyes in the Backfield: Bills
@Kyle Rodriguez @omahacolt @Kyle @Nate and some of that problem with the sacks and hits is that Luck still holds onto the ball too long at times.
no way would i call this year disappointing for him. still a young player and he will make mistakes. i think he is progressing very well.
@Kyle Rodriguez @Nate Dunlevy what games has he been bad other than the titans game? not given up a sack or two but just straight bad. even joe thomas gives up a sack from time to time.
@Nate Dunlevy the titans game is the only one where i think he looked bad. i think pff (not that they matter much to me but i know they do some people) even had him rated pretty hign
how has castanza had a disappointing year? makes no sense to me
@DougEngland every wr drops passes. time to get over it
much better this time around. well done

@bradicus18 the freeney trade deadline talk makes absolutely zero sense.

@rebuild2012 cant be too mad at the oline today. pretty clean pocket. much cleaner than i would have guessed
shipley looks like a player

@Nate Dunlevy your take on davis just baffles me.
i look forward to davis proving you wrong. hopefully you dont just have a boner for hating on the guy
2 years ago on Eyes in the Backfield-Dolphins | October
@Nate Dunlevy wow. i really don't know what to say about that. i think you are way off the mark here.
i don't care who the qb is. this is the nfl. only 6 targets in 2 games is very good. allowing 20 yards in 2 games is very good.
every corner is going to get completions against him. what we have seen the last few games is that when they do throw his way (which is rare) he is right there for the stop.
@Nate Dunlevy credit colt_following for this stat in another thread
In his past 3 games he's only allowed 4 receptions for 28 yards and no TDs (in fact he hasn't allowed a TD since week 1)
how is that awful?
i thought it was a good thing when a corner is invisible. the davis trade was a good one
2 years ago on 7 Questions for the Dolphins Game | November
@Nate Dunlevy i fail to see how he has been awful when targeted. giving up a completion happens. davis has been getting better and better as the season went on.
he is by no means awful.
@Nate Dunlevy @DougEngland i am guessing allen will play a bigger role. saunders filling in for more of the blocking. i think we will be just fine with fleener out. or as just fine as our offense can be
@Nate Dunlevy @DougEngland he has been doing better. i dont really care about dvoa or advanced metrics.
his production isnt that hard to replace
and how many yards has he given up? he had a rough day against the bears but other than that he has been very solid. i really dont know how anyone can watch our corners and have a bad word to say about davis.
hell, he is rarely thrown at when he is on the field.
@DougEngland why the hell would they miss fleener?
1) davis has been anything but a bust. he got hurt a couple times. he plays football for a living. that happens. he is by far our best corner. it isnt even close. we would have been hard pressed to get somebody with his talent in the 2nd round
2) colts fans are pretty bad. the crowd wont be into it. as usual
@Nate Dunlevy i think it was impressive he came back so quickly from his high ankle sprain. freeney has always been a diligent worker from his workouts to his diet. he has always seemed to play hard regardless of being dinged up or not.
never once did it cross my mind that he would dog it. nothing in his history would suggest such a thing
2 years ago on Eyes in the Backfield-Titans | October
i don't understand why anyone would question freeney's motivation
@DougEngland really? high ankle sprain is a very good explanation
2 years ago on Matchup Spotlight: Dwight Freeney vs. Mike Otto | October
powers is a professional football player. his job is to cover wr's. period
boo fucking hoo if they are bigger and stronger than him.

i thought luck was at fault for all the sacks on first watch.

these wr's arent that bad
2 years, 1 month ago on Colts-Browns Instant Reaction - Full Recap to Come | October
@Nate Dunlevy i read written by nate dunleavy and assumed you wrote it all.
what i didnt like?
the calling weeden an int machine when he has 3 int's on luck and a much less talented team
all the talk of how old weeden is. not very funny.
not much analysis involved. i was expecting more depth into the game
2 years, 1 month ago on Eyes in the Backfield-Browns | October
@Nate Dunlevy i have read your stuff for a long time. you are much better than that post
@paulcareyjr the guy is horrible in a 4-3 front. he cant do anything

not a very informative post. not impressed at all
no big loss

@EconolineVan freeney dogging it makes zero sense. what has freeney done to make you think he would do such a thing anyway.

do you understand what "facts" means?
go read wells article. it would do you good.
2 years, 7 months ago on Brown delivers | Articles
@Nate Dunlevy @Blue@Heart @lawyerjay @Heart
sure he did
and you havent touched the facts i laid out.
sure i can. just like you can claim flawed statistics claim he was good. he was not featured for a reason.
and wells debunked the great donald brown awhile back. check it out. the facts for him being a poor football player are there.
what did he average again? probably like 50 yards a game. i will look this up later.
haha ok yeah. addai and brown were late 1st round picks. so what? was mjd a 1st round pick? mccoy? ray rice? how is that for a fact? has brown hit 1000 yard rushing yet? no. how is that for a fact? how is that delivering?
you can blame coaching all you want for brown. if he were as productive as you say, he would have been playing more. its that simple. do you think if peterson was a colt, they wouldnt play him? of course they would because his play would dictate it. that didnt happen with brown. for reasons you are sidestepping.
of course the colts offensive line has been below average. so has browns play. he finally improved some last year. props to him. he still never delivered.
1 good game in 2010 and a handful of games over 4 ypc last year and you want me to provide stats how he has not been delivering? didnt you do that for me?
@Nate Dunlevy @Blue@Heart @lawyerjay @Heart 2 years? could be. that isnt the point but you are probably correct
i am sure you can find quotes from polian about the 2 back system and how he was looking for that. and that is a bunch of bs. he would have loved to have a bell cow like james again. he just failed to draft him. in addai and brown
you covered it heavily? ok. that doesnt make you correct. he was drafted the year addai was to hit free agency. he was addais replacement. you can say he wasnt all you want but i wont believe it. it makes no sense.
brown was not effective in 2010. you arguing for it doesnt change the fact that he was bad. dom rhodes played ahead of him because he was piss poor in pass protection and he was indecisive in the backfield. he is still indecisive in the backfield. and his lack of playing time did not cost us anything.
brown was drafted into an offense that he didnt fit. he needs to play with a fullback.
our definition of "good game" is probably way off
i dont think he was drafted to compliment addai. he was drafted to replace addai. addai had to be resigned because brown was horrible and unreliable.
1 big game against the jags in 2010 shouldnt even be brought up. it was 1 good game. mungro had good games but nobody was saying he "delivered"
1) cut blocking a dt or de then fine. lbers are considered too athletic. i find it hard to believe they want him cut blocking lbers. but hey, somebody told you that so it must be the truth. he has improved his pass blocking. but is he really one of the best in the league at it? do you really believe that?
2) 4 ypc in 6 games. wow. thats pro bowl material right there. i will get back to this later
2) they trained their rb's to cut linebackers? where did you find that info? that is a pass blocking no no. lbers are too athletic and can make you pay for trying to cut them. i have always been under the impression that is frowned upon by most everybody
3) not really. my opinion and backed up that he actually wasnt that productive outside of a few games. he is way too much of a boom or bust player. and no he wasnt drafted to be that
offensive tackle would be foolish
wr is probably a reach at 34
and fat boy jeffrey shouldn't be on the colts board at all
2 years, 7 months ago on Second round options | Articles
1) PFF is not the authority on everything.
2) brown has improved as a pass blocker. that much was evident. he still at times cut block a linebacker. which you dont do as a blocker.
3) i trust my eyeball test over statistics all the time. you may not care about my eyeball test but i do. saying donald brown delivered last year is just not accurate
no. it is not.
thats just foolish
@LiquoredUpIdiotKicker that would be a horrible draft
2 years, 7 months ago on Biggest need? WR | Articles
@Nate Dunlevy @Blue@Heart @lawyerjay @Heart i disagree
brown had a very good game or two. he is not a very good player
@chad72 i dont see the colts drafting him. kicking the tires isnt a bad idea i guess. he wont be a colt
