Well at least after that date you can now possibly add, "That date," to things you're ashamed of...I would, but you may be a better person in that regard.

Too bad it's not an e-book with the principles...but perhaps you could do an e-book of the summary of some of the points after your time teaching at that location is finished.

I weed out words by having someone proof my comic strips. Most of the time, the panels are fine, but every once in awhile the weeds take over the grass and the panel is too wordy. It can be improved greatly by changing the words or phrase entirely which removes the filler and also enhances the point of the strip better.

I'm sure that it has, but we (now) tend to pick and choose the projects that come our way because we see that our time has value;  and some projects aren't worth your time or your value.

@Erin F. I enjoy much more tending to the comic strip.

Good thing you didn't mention my blog, then I'd have to dust the cobwebs currently growing there most likely have to fight off the spiders of Shelob size.

1) Great post on fears.

2) Now I understand why you recommended having some more WoW references in future DBM comics. ;)

You might want to update your post to have your post link in it, http://panelpicker.sxsw.com/vote/1873, or something like the title of the panel that we are supposed to vote for. Just a suggestion.

I do the same thing as you with my comics that get posted every Friday, I have them scheduled to go out, but will illustrate them in advance. Currently, I am illustrating comics that won't go live until mid-November, but have story lines drafted that won't hit online until a good month or two into 2013.

Now sometimes the inspiration hits and I have the time to do an additional comic earlier in the week based on recent events, like how I was able to produce a comic making light of some earthquakes that happened in So. Cal. earlier this week and had a comic ready to publish by the next morning, making it an extra post and extremely relevant.

@Erin F. Industry-wide? I can't tell you, but for my business? Yes, people have stopped asking about getting better rankings and have started asking (again) on getting a better site. Hopefully people will start to realize that if you provide great writing and a nice site (that caters your audience), you should have no trouble getting viewers as long as you let people know about the site.

I agree completely with worrying about the quality of the writing more than if the search engines will pick up your content. If you are writing for results alone, on a website, then you are missing the purpose: writing with your audience in mind. The goal of website copy is to make it clear, easy and give the audience all the necessary information. SEO helps, but if you have good writing that isn't spamming and the tags, headlines and body copy are consistent, the search engines will find them just fine.

And the best way to un-murder time is to break the routine, like going on vacation, whether an actual one or one that breaks the routine.

I fall into the holes of: writer, poet, designer, developer, photographer, and illustrator; and the best way that I know how to avoid it is to keep these details separate. If I am being introduced to someone by a mutual friend, usually I know that person because of a certain skill set, which will be mentioned, but if another part comes up during conversation, I'll add in my specialty there, but without being spam-ish.

I know that feeling. About a year ago, when I was first going to Chamber of Commerce mixers promoting website design, my business was ripped apart by a lady that was trying to "help" me understand what the impression my business card gave off. The card in question had my logo with "Killer Branding" written in a bloody font, like the top of my website.

After recovering from that ego blow, I decided to go harder into refining the brand. She wasn't anywhere close to my target audience anyways. Thus, now on business cards (and stickers), the dust bunnies are the prominent feature, which was lacking previously. Now, with a quick internet search, you'll find the lovable dust bunnies more than the slogan, which is ultimately where the focus should be.

From what we've noticed you're not the Queen of Hearts when it comes to grammar. "Off with their heads" is a great slogan, but it's not great for repeat business. ;)

@ElenaBowman  Turns out that Pinterest has been updating it's Terms of Service in response to many users complaints. I have a follow-up post here, http://dustbunnymafia.com/wordpress/consider-this/pinterest-updates-its-terms/, but I am still deciding whether to bring the dust bunnies back to Pinterest.

@Erin F. Those are the four biggest reasons that I see in the industry for people doing redesigns, and consequently those are the things I try to push most when I am taking on new design work.

From my perspective, I'd say your mission was accomplished for Write Right.
