And imagine Nigel Benn as Prime Minister. Cooooooollllllll.
Carson Jones sounds like the sheriff in that bunch
"Fun fight" and "won't be boring". Bah....
@SerieATipster he has some skill but he's woefully short technically. He needs a better trainer.
@ALEXMAC only to potatoes. Fury will be picking his teeth up if he fights like that against anyone half-decent. On the bright side, you could count those dudes on two fingers.
Ha, class Alex. But isn't Hopkins a blipster?
I'd have called George Groves but Kenny Anderson stopped him wearing that hat (and he can't grow a beard yet):

Berto = cheat. Mosley = cheat. Gamboa = highly suspicious. Pacquiao, Marquez, Chavez = also suspicious. Bleeurgh.
@ThePJ lot of young talent there tonight. Be interested to hear what you make of "Jazza" Dickens. Enjoy the fights!
Good fight. Not sure about Bradley making it tough on himself by not boxing - Providnikov was knackered after those opening two rounds. Had Bradley 6-5 up in rounds going into the last (even on cards due to opening round 10-8) with the Siberian winning the last 10-8. Not a fan of Bradley's style. They were talking about being unable to pigeon hole him pre-fight which is kinda the point -- I dunno what he is.
That Prince link is quality. Apart from Oscar's hush money......scary...
@ALEXMAC Thanks mate. Back in art college I'd fib that was intentional and get an extra mark.
Self-deprecation aside, you look alright up there mate -- you look like a boxer rather than a writer attempting to box -- fair play for having the nuts to get in there. On the other stuff: I think it's a reflex action sometimes for writers to say they've "done a bit", to sort of legitimise themselves in some way (even though they don't need to and possibly even haven't -- they're there to write).
I "did a bit" on and off as a boy (and was quite handy for my size) but never had any competitive fights. Being a little tearaway, though, I had enough scraps to know what hitting someone and being hit back feels like and I can't say I'd ever draw on that to write something (not that I'm the greatest writer, so maybe I should!).
I've noticed a few writers on Twitter banging on about attending pro gyms and how, somehow, that makes them a more tuned in scribe, which is a load of balls. Playing at boxing doesn't make them more worthy scribblers. Comes over very sanctimonious and a little embarassing. I could kick a football about from now until next year and still not gain as much insight as watching a 3 minute George Best Youtube highlight.
While we're on topic, though, this is pretty fun:

How long before Mr. Cent realises it's a lot easier to make money talk-singing about adolescent crime fantasies?
Bottom line: Could either of these beat Audley "The English Archie Moore" Harrison?
@tstarks I think it was a slip. Think he meant it would get his dander up but maybe came out a bit Freudian
@ALEXMAC Thanks mate. You're spot on - after Thompson there's maybe only Chisora and Fury, maybe beat up that Helenius chump. It's why a Price-Fury series makes sense. If Fury is competitive, there's no reason they couldn't learn from each other while making a lot of money. But that's too sensible.
Everyone I know agrees with Broner on Marquez. And you couldn't be more implicated than Gamboa has been if you were papped with a needle hanging out of your butt. Miss Marple wouldn't need an hour long episode to solve those mysteries. If a fighter takes a commission test they'll pass, as the tests are junk. If they have to take a VADA test, they'll just lay off the gear for a fight or decline the fight (claim they're afraid of needles or some other rubbish). Now we have Rigo backing out of the Donaire fight as he won't VADA test. The game is rigged.
@ALEXMAC Kiko is super motivated which evens those odds out a tad but Frampton should have all the answers - the Mcguigans are meticulous.
Andrew Harrison "says" a lot of things.....
Frampton v Martinez is going to be humdinger. Promise.
I remember thinking Pavlik had the biggest upside (in terms of earning potential) in boxing after the Taylor win. Great sequel potential here for Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes...
