@JamesCoberly James-- addressed all of these pretty directly in the series, so apologize if you feel there was an trickiness! Starting out, believe I was in the average shape for anyone who would actually think seriously about trying to get 6 pack abs in 6 weeks. Then, at the end, was exploring what actual models do for these photos with both the water manipulation & the hair-shaving-- so the audience could hear about it. Those obviously aren't standard things people do-- but neither should six pack abs in six weeks be. Thanks for the comment!
@JessicaVernick Jessica-- oh no! Honestly this has never happened to me. The workout definitely shouldn't lead to any bruises/injuries. If you're worried about the shock of jumping onto it/getting on a fast-moving treadmill, would suggest holding on to the rails a bit as you gain your footing. Or if that doesn't work, would recommend starting with the treadmill at a lower speed to get used to it. But that's just my take!
@Salue I'm with @evilforestgnome , by the way! Didn't completely cut carbohydrates out-- only for a few weeks of the challenge & even then I made sure to make up for it by eating enough high-quality fats to keep that energy up. It's important to eat enough calories-- otherwise your body goes into starvation mode, which is bad news bears. In terms of recording calories, too, may be worth using something like MyFitnessPal (like I did on the #absperiment) to help-- they've got a database full of suggestions for what you're eating. Hope that helps & good luck finding the right balance!
@robynneurope @Jay_Carter PS-- love the conversation & my take, for the record, is that Greatist is ultimately about thinking about health & wellness in a healthier way... but that that doesn't mean setting a goal about looking awesome naked is a bad one-- just that if it comes with permanent health costs that it may be worth reconsidering. If not, then it's just about priorities. I prioritize eating pumpkin bread over maintaining a six pack. But that doesn't mean it's the same for everyone else and that's totally okay. Obviously TONS of people are motivated not by getting "healthier," but sexier. Greatist can be a place for that, too!
@alexisdemetra ps-- I love doing interval sprints for the same reason, so much more interesting!
@joelrunyon YUP!
@joelrunyon Any friend of Jason's... And Steve Kamb's. Who quotes Walt Disney. And does six-pack ab challenges. And is hilarious. Must be a brother from another mother. Thanks for the comment & the great read-- pumped about and inspired by what you're doing w/ your blog of impossible things!
@Jay_Carter Jay-- couldn't agree more that it's about finding a healthy balance... and sounds like you're doing an awesome job at that! Think I'm going to lay low on the challenges/goals for a bit, but stay tuned.
@jordantanner Jordan, thanks for the comment- think it all depends on how "six pack abs" are defined (my favorite way to put this is whether you want em to look like the abs on Channing Tatum or Ryan Reynolds). I'm happy with these & think they're pretty good for just six weeks.
@Christi_R Awesome to hear, Christi-- thanks for reading 'em all & for being such a greatist!
@arcDC Absolutely-- means a ton to hear it & thanks for following along. Guess I'll have to come up w/ another weekly challenge? :)
@PaulWintergerst Thanks Paul-- have appreciated your support & feedback throughout the whole thing. :) And we'll have lots of quality stuff for you to follow in the future, I promise!
@robynneurope Ha-- thanks for every part of this, Robynn. :)
@robynneurope I will eat any & all cookies.
@MarissTakesPics Thanks Mariss-- hard to do it w/ cheating, trust me. But hey, any healthier choice is better than none! :)
@mgmoody This comment alone made every second of the #absperiment worth it-- a profound thank you for this from me & the whole Greatist team. Thanks for being such a greatist!
@DanielAugustoMeloSantos Thanks!
